FASHION101 with Neicy: ‘BRINGING OUT THE FASHIONISTA IN YOU’

By Nekisha Cyrus (NEICY)

What’s up, Fashionistas and Fashion-misters, lol? Hope 2015 is going as planned and we are be-

coming that fashion forward, trend-setter that we all have deep down within. I have been ex-

perimenting with my own personal image lately. And I must say that has been amazing, and

with it comes a new found sense of freedom. So with that said, my tip this month is....

BEING FIERCE IS KEY- ‘Fierce’ is sometimes related to being aggressive. Which I believe is

necessary from time to time when you’re into fashion, like I am. It adds a sense of mystery to

your style, which is good- because who wants to be predictable, like seriously? Fierce is your

attitude, your pride, it can show ownership, but most of all its unique to the individual. Every-

one can express their fierceness freely, which is entertaining and exciting. So let’s all give our-

selves permission to be fierce- Let loose and have fun with it! Allow that hidden Fashionista to

develop at their own pace- but enjoy the journey

during the process. And I always like to end on a positive note: “You can never be over-

dressed or overeducated.” - Oscar Wilde

Conscious reggae artist "Humility" has always felt compelled to produce and deliver conscious reggae music. Perhaps this stems from the indubious honor of being named after the iconic Robert Nesta Marley, and uncannily born the same year that Bob Marley was laid down to rest. The prolific writer sense of responsibility shows in his copious lyrics as "Humility" is aware of the power and influence of words, he makes a conscious effort to speak his truth, sings of injustices yet remain balance by the beauty and blessings of life . Having recently signed to U.S based label City Rock Entertainment, "Humility" has already completed his first single and video title "Community" produced by Advance for City Rock productions. Speaking of his latest release, Humility ex-plained "Community is a root itself, Community is all about who you are, who you want to be and where you come from. If yu nuh memba weh yu come from, yu naw go know weh yu a go" Humility "Community" is available on iTunes among other digital distributors.

NEICY TOPS LOCAL CHARTS Talented Trinidadian Songstress Neicy, gains her second No.1 hit on the local ‘Indigenous Charts’ two weeks

in a row with her R&B/ Dancehall track ‘CONTROL’ (produced by Countryside Productions). This is also the

second No. 1 song for the versatile singer who claimed her first title back in 2013 with her fusion track

‘HOLDING ON’.

In a recent interview, Neicy says that she feels elated with this accomplishment, which she really didn’t ex-

pect, because the song previously came off the charts after reaching as high as the No. 5 spot, back in 2014.

Then it re-entered recently, going straight to No.1, for two consecutive weeks. This is her fourth song to

make it into the Power 102.1fm Indigenous Charts. Other Neicy tracks that made the charts includes, her

2014 summer hit- ‘About that time (#Selfie-Time), and ‘Dreaming (collaboration with Nerukhi).

As she gears up to release her 2015 summer hit, Neicy says that this new project is definitely going to take

her career to a new level. She recently teamed up with a new Trinidadian producer Jamaal Atwell, who is al-

so pushing her to develop her song writing skills further and evolve her unique ‘NEICY’ sound.
