ABOUTVILNIAUS KOLEGIJAUNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES (VK/UAS)

Vilniaus kolegija / University of Applied Sciences (VK/UAS) is a leading and one of the largest accredited public higher professional education institution in Lithuania with around 7000 students and 500 qualified teachers. High enrolment rates and top places in the rankings indicate the prestige of the institution. VK/UAS graduates are highly sought by employers. VK/UAS provides more than 40 Professional Bachelor study programmes in 7 faculties in the areas of Biomedical, Social, Tehcnological, Physical Sciences, Humanities and Arts.

• Career ProspectsStudies at VK/UAS are orientated to practical application of knowledge. Therefore, compared to university studies, more attention is paid to practical training, closer contacts with the real work. VK/UAS maintains good contacts with social partners and universities. Vilniaus kolegija is a member of a number of national and international professional associations and networks.

• International RelationsInternationalisation is one of VK/UAS priority areas, therefore all the faculties are actively involved in various projects. VK/UAS aims at promoting all possible mobility type providing students with the best opportunities to study at foreign educational institutions and finding placements in companies abroad, as well as opening prospects for teachers to enhance their competence through staff, to enhance knowledge and experience with colleagues from different countries. Every year more then 200 students spend their international semesters studying or having placements abroad.

• Free time activitiesAfter-class activities include indoor and outdoor sports which are available at the Sports Centre; those interested in folk dance and music are invited to the music band VORUTA.

• AccommodationVK/UAS is located in several campuses all over the city, offering its students good facilities for studies, free time and accommodation. International students are invited to stay at a renovated, well-equipped hostel, which is situated close to the city centre.

• Admission Procedure /There are two application procedures depending on your citizenship:• If you are a citizen of Lithuania, an EU/EEA country, or have a right of permanent residence in the Republic of Lithuania or a child, grandchild andgreat-grandchild of the Diaspora and people of Lithuanian origin and would like to compete for a state-funded study place, you need to complete an application form for general admission via the website of the Association of Lithuanian Higher Education Institutions LAMA BPO: www.lamabpo.lt.• If you are a citizen of a non-EU and non-EEA country and want to finance your studies independently with your own funds, you should apply directly to VK/UAS international Office admission@viko.lt

• Documents needed:• A signed Application Form;• A proof of the education received (graduation certificate or diploma) and its supplements. The documents should be legalized

and ratified by the certificate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs („Apostille“);• A document issued by the Centre of the Quality Assessment in Higher Education confirming the academic qualification obtained in a foreign country; for more information please check http://www.skvc.lt/en;• A document indicating knowledge of the English language. It can be IELTS, TOEFL.
