Mythology
• According to Greek mythology, Stafylos was the son of Dionysus and Ariadne.
• In another myth Staphylos was a shepherd of the king of Aetolia, Aineas . As he was herding the goats, he noticed that one of them, eating a particular fruit fattened more than the others. He collected then some of this fruit and offered it to his king. The king produced a juice which he called " wine “ and gave the name of the shepherd to the fruit (in Greek “stafili” means grape).
