Sight Reading: Don’t neglect practicing pieces you are unfamiliar with to help prepare for this part of the audition. 3. Excerpt: Violin 1 OR Violin 2 Part: (**see below) Dmitri Shostakovich - Symphony No. 5: Movement IV - Allegro non troppo (prepare between the red brackets) **You and your teacher may choose the Violin 1 OR Violin 2 part to play for your audition. However, playing Violin 1 does NOT guarantee placement in the first violin section. Preparing the Violin 2 part WILL place you in the second violin section.
