Directory 2011
Gujarati Samaj is planning to publish 2011 Directory for this year. We request all members to visit GSOD.org to update/verify their membership before Aug 2011 to get their listing in
directory. Only current Gujarati Samaj members will get the directory so please become member before June 2011.
Dear Members, Since its inception in 1975, Gujarati Samaj has served huge Gujarati community of Metro Detroit area. However 2011 Holi program - “Raangberangi Holi” will be the most memo-rable. Because, we were able to celebrate historical win of World Cricket Cup. The festivity started with historical victory of India with just in time National Anthems of our both countries.
With every one witnessing India win cricket world cup after 28 years and GSOD kids starting the program with National Anthems at the auditorium, atmosphere was Festive and Patriotic.
We are proud to announce that this year’s Holi program GSOD had registered over 600+ partici-pants, 44 emcees and 23 choreographers. Not to mention record participation from the parents, relatives, friends, GSOD sponsors, advertisers, committees, and volunteers.
Performances included all verity of colors from India and participants had lit up the stage with high energy performances. Surat Valsad Samaj provided delicious food and GSY did wonderful job with bake sale. GSOD operating team was involved in managing the program to provide a comfortable atmosphere for everyone involved including time management of record participation.
This year’s program will be remembered for two historical events: one is India winning the world cup and second facility losing power in the middle of the program. GSOD team did wonderful job of re-scheduling remaining performances on April 16th.
