The Western Harvest does stand as one of the most highly anticipated Simmental female sales every year. It carries deep roots from the highly reputable Cow-A-Rama sales of days gone by and has also become somewhat of a prototype to emulate by other sales across the country.
The great Virginia Ranch herd has been the anchor to this event since it’s inception and before! They have wrote the playbook as to the importance of owning good herdsires. The breeding ability of these bulls has been showcased this year already, namely with the brothers to these bred heifers who sold so successfully in last March’s Bull Spectrum. The heifers not only are sired by the Virginia Bull Battery, but are bred to bulls they have the confidence in to sell to the public. Not to mention that their dams are the very impressive Virginia Ranch cowherd of course!
I believe one of the best footed sets of bulls we were able to assist selling this past season were the Tymarc Livestock group that also sold at the past Bull Spectrum. Of course, these females selling here are simply the sisters from the same calendar year crop and will have those same good attributes.
The Eagle Ridge program has always been known for creating top end females that are highly productive. This blend of Fullblood and Purebred heifers will have that very lucrative value deep in their DNA.
Langer Simmentals have always very methodically bred Simmental cattle with proven, foundation genetics. With increasing numbers over the years, they have expanded the herd with a Purebred side and these heifers will compliment their excellent Fullblood heifers well. Lots of predictability here!
The Schmid Family have long sold their cattle with us and we thank them for their loyalty. They have a good set of heifers again that won’t be overpampered and designed to work for their new owners.
The Kathol’s Hidden Stone Farm, are a multi generational Simmental breeding family, and have always bred cattle that are set with large ribcages and have a lot of do-ability. From the Fullblood cattle of many years ago to the now evolved Black & Red Simmental herd, this is still a mainstay. They have quietly maintained a private treaty, repeat clientele selling bulls because of their no nonsense breeding philosophies.
Spruce View Acres have a solid program that we want to do more marketing assistance with in the future! One of the real big advantages buying these cattle is a disposition second to none!
As strong as this sale was, was there a way to make it even stronger??? Well YES!!! Add the wonderful Beechinor Bros. program to the event would be one way to advance the overall level of any sale. After a lot of discussion with John over the past several months, we all decided that it was in the best interest of all to have them join this sale. The prolific Beechinor herd has set the stage to allow a larger amount of females to be sold. Tying this herd into this sale, who has one of the best bull sales in the country with the components of the strong Bull Spectrum event, all together, really has to make this as one of the most sure fire places to access Simmental females all year!
We thank all these leading breeders for their continued loyalty and invite you on their behalf to attend this sale. Their commitment is very high. Although if you can’t attend, or even would like a pre-sale appraisal, give any of us at Transcon a call. We are happy to assist with your buying needs with our highly proven, trustworthy, industry leading services.

Transcon’s Western Harvest Simmental Bred Heifer Sale4
Another year all over the map weather wise. In our area spring was shaping up to be entering into another drought year, but we were thankful that the rains came (even if it was a little too often for most of the summer…every 3rd day, if not more so). We are grateful for the abundance of feed, but are cognizant of many others whom have struggled with drought or who have been unable to bale or harvest this fall.
Welcome everyone to the 6th Annual Western Harvest sale. We appreciate the continued professional management services from Transcon Livestock and enjoy working with the team at Innisfail Auction Mart whom has hosted this sale since its inception. Our fellow consignors, although some have changed through the years, are proud to offer great cattle from the heart of their programs as we too have on offer here. Our heifers came off pasture on October 8th and were pictured without a mouthful of feed shortly thereafter, displaying them in working clothes. We invite you to come and view the heifers at home prior to sale day if you find yourself in our area, as we always we enjoy visits from our fellow Simmental enthusiasts.

I wasn’t sure what heifer I should start our sale string with this year, then realized that Carolyns’ mother was catalogued as one of our string leaders when she was offered for sale as a choice lot in Western Harvest 2015, so it was fitting we start with her daughter. She comes from the BLI Reba cow family whom has made a lot of money for us over the years. Carolyn definitely has the potential to be one of your top cows, as her dam and grand-dam have been for us.

Cathryn is one of my favorite heifers in the group. Her pedigree is great and proven as she goes back to Randy Wards SS Legacy 5U cow. Her full brother was our highest weighing bull at weaning time this past August when we weighed our 55 bulls. You don’t need to take a chance on Cathryn, as she will FOR SURE work.

Charlotte is ¾ blood sister to Lot 3 (Cathryn). They both have the same build. Charlottes’ Great-Grandma AWL Helga 3S is the mother to the Banker son (Virginia Shooter) we sold to Starwest Farms. We could have put any of the Black Gold Crude daughters in our keeper pen and would have been very proud of them. She is bred to our new polled herdbull we purchased from Langer Fleckvieh, this calf is going to be as red as they come.

Have a good long look at this big gal. She will be a super honest producer that should work with any bull. Her Great Grand-dam is the one and only JB CDN Kananaskis 4019. Corrina has brothers working @ Gerald Willsie’s of Caroline, AB and Ty Dewitz’ of Tappen, ND (USA).
We purchased Claudette’s dam from Gibbons Farm of Stephensville, ON. Her Grand-Dam MFI Helga 8067 was the high selling female at the Murray Farms Inc. dispersal sale. Claudette is an awesome looking female and will for sure be an asset for any herd. We have sold two sisters in the past, one to MI Simmentals of Okotoks, AB and one to Madge Simmentals of Hanna, AB. We also have a sister in our herd.
Chelsey is a big bodied, angular female who shows lots of muscle – all natural. She didn’t need a pail of grain a day to get that way. She comes from the only Impact female on our place. She is the total package!

Carissa is a special, moderate framed girl who will have an awesome udder. Her mother has done a great job for our daughter Allison. Her first calf sold to Storebo Farms of Beechy, SK and her second calf sold to Culp Family Farms of Irricana, AB. Carissa should have a productive future.
If you like them a little bigger framed with a great great temperament, then Carla is the one for you. I said that on a footnote last year and Skywest Simmentals bought that heifer, she weaned off their biggest heifer calf at 920 lbs (not bad for a first calf heifer eh?) Carla comes from a cow we just absolutely love – DSLS Reese 81U. Reese reminds me so much of MFL Zaila, who was one of the best Fleckvieh cows to walk in North America. We have flushed Reese 81U this past summer. I know Carla is kind of a homely bugger…but she will produce.

Breanna is a full sister to a bull that yet again sold to Brian Miller of Okotoks who purchased him to breed his purebred cows. Breanna’s mother is one of our top Romano daughters. She always raises a marketable calf each and every year. We have retained three of her daughters in our own herd, and sold a son to Langer Fleckvieh Simmentals whom unfortunately broke his back on the ice while breeding a cow. This heifer should be a star!
This is one sweet little heifer, who has COW written all over her. I don’t know where you could change her. Her mother has been a very good cow for us, who has put a few bulls through the Spectrum Bull sale over the years and produced a good heifer that sold to Sunny Valley Simmentals of Hanley, SK.

Bethany is a red, well-put together female with a nice pedigree that will develop into a functional cow. We bought her dam from Eagle-Ridge Simmentals at the 2015 Equation Sale. Her mother has turned out to be a great cow, she has perfect feet and a tremendous udder. Bethany also has a maternal sister in our herd.
Brittany is one of the most feminine females in our string this year. I guarantee she will have an awesome udder just like her mother. Brittany has a maternal sister in the herd which is becoming one of our top cows. Her first calf (a heifer) sold for $18,000 to RichMc Simmentals of Pilot Mound, MB in the 2017 Western Harvest sale. This bred heifer is definitely a diamond in the rough.

I truly can’t believe we are selling all these Banker daughters. The ones we kept last year are all awesome young cows, who came in this fall with terrific calves at side. But you know, you can’t keep all of them, as we like to step out and support other breeders every fall too. Don’t pass up Brooklyn, she is broody, stout and just a well-built heifer who will have a great udder.
Oops…maybe shouldn’t have put this one in the sale! Melody is definitely a feature heifer this year. I cannot be more pleased with our Virginia Marquee offspring. There are 14 sons of his in the bullpen and 12 daughters in the open heifer pen this fall. When people come to the farm to view all the cattle, they always gravitate towards the Marquee progeny. Here’s a chance to buy one of our best!

Here again is one of those good Marquee daughters. You might recall reading in one of my previous footnotes of Skywest buying a bred heifer last year that weaned off a heifer calf this fall that was Skywests’ heaviest at 920 lbs. Well here is her maternal sister. I guarantee there is no guess work required on this one.

Here are two really related Notorious daughters. They are moderate-framed, have lots of rib and are both extremely docile. Nicole (819F) comes from our old Panda cow who we flushed a few times at the end of her career…as we don’t just flush any cow, they have to be proven. Nicole is a full sister to one of the heifers that started the sale last year, who was purchased by Rand-Mar. Both of these girls have a very bright future.

Sophia’s maternal sister has a bull calf out of Kuntz Gudas in the bull pen this year that we are considering retaining to use ourselves (he’s really good). So if Sophia can do like her sister did on her first calf, then this girl should have a big star marked on her picture in your catalogue. Sophia’s dam is a big barrelled cow with great feet and udder.
Sabrina is an attractive, smaller-framed female who should milk very well, with a nice tidy udder developing. She should be a great producer, just like her mama, a female we purchased from the great Maxwell herd.
Phoebe is last but definitely not least in our fullblood offering. I can’t lie, I just about sold her last fall with the cull open heifers as she looks like a damn Hereford. But looking past this, I realized she really did exhibit traits of a really great female, so kept her for breeding. Her mother is one of the best buys (thanks Marc) we have bought over the past few years. You should see her Marquee bull calf in the pen this year…thick, thick. If there was a show that only judged a cow on udders, than Phoebes’ mother would hands down be our herds show entry. I am really high on this cow.

Again I am going to be repeating myself, but these last three females are just like peas in a pod. Naturally thick females and all come from good mama cows. We realize we are known for our fullbloods, but when people tour our cow herd, they always point out how thick our red and black purebred cows look. I think sometimes our purebred cattle sometimes get over-looked because of our fullbloods.

We were very excited to purchase Kuntz Gudas 15E at the Kuntz/McIntosh/SAJ Bull sale last March. He was one of the high sellers that day @ $22,000. His sire, Salton is known for his calving ease on 1st calving heifers. His dam is full sister to the $48,000 Kuntz Climax, the $25,000 Kuntz Sonic, the $19,000 Kuntz Duramax and the $19,000 Kuntz Determined. Gudas is a smooth made bull with good length and a deep hind quarter. We have been very happy with his calves; 90% of them are colored just like himself. Five of his sons made the bullpen and all are out of heifers.
Searching for a heifer bull can be very stressful as they are very hard to come by. Going through many sale catalogues last spring we decided to take a run at Swag. He is polled, smooth-shouldered, has a small head, is very correct and is colored right. He started the sale that day and it took $22,000 to own him.
Virginia’s Current Affair is the son of CMS Zaila 409B – the $31,000 female that may have been the top selling open female on offer during the fall of 2014. He was catalogued to sell in the 2018 Spectrum Bull sale but unfortunately did not pass the semen test. It was a shame as we did have breeder interest on him. So we ended up keeping him and using him on a few heifers and all of our 1st and 2nd calvers. He has turned into a very fine looking bull.

Mandy is a heifer that we have been very excited about since the very start. She has been at the top of the fullblood replacement pen from the day she was born and hasn’t slowed down. The only reason Mandy gets to come to town is that we flushed her dam and received a full sister that is almost a carbon copy to Mandy. This powerhouse female has it all; length, depth in her heart, rib and flank, udder strength, foot structure, where do I stop? To date we have one Dirty Harry daughter in production along with several to calve this year. All these females are dropping outstanding udders and Mandy is no exception. Michelle and I would like to welcome you to the 6th Annual Western Harvest Bred Heifer Sale. We feel extremely fortunate to be joining this outstanding group of consigners and look forward to the fabulous set of heifers that will be assembled for your appraisal. Our heifers came home at the end of September to prepare for picturing day and have been on a TMR diet. If you are in our area please feel free to stop in for a visit and take a look at the heifers. If you aren’t driving by please call with any questions you might have on our offering and we will be glad to assist you.

Amanda is another long spined, deep bodied, strong uddered female sired by Dirty Harry. I believe the Dirty Harry females are only just starting to leave their impact on the breed and will only continue to strengthen as more females come into production. Amanda’s dam, BMS Amanda 27B, is a strong uddered cow that has an outstanding heifer in this years replacement pen. Michelle told me I wasn’t allowed to sell any of the heifers off the new Quebec cows….. I’ll ask for forgiveness later…. If you like your pedigrees fully loaded you might want to take a good look at this one. Non Dilutor
Tricia is a dark red, long spined heifer that has been a standout since birth. She spent the summer in the show pasture which should come by no surprise as her mother was also among the best of her year. Tricia is loaded with maternal power and has a long list of recognizable lineage such as Titanium, Magnum, Viper, Jahari and Colossal just to name a few. This double googled heifers mother is a moderate framed cow who has a picture perfect udder. Non Dilutor

I will not be a very popular guy when the family realizes that I have elected to put Mary in the heifer offering. As a calf she would often walk up to the everyone for a scratch. Scarlette has an outcross but not unknown pedigree with names like Stride, Klyber and Samurai to name a few. BMS Scarlette 10B, her dam, is a dark red, deep bodied female that again has an outstanding Elevation heifer calf this year. Non Dilutor
Tilly comes from a long line of nice moderate frame cows that always produce good sound calves. Tilly, like her dam and grand dam, is setting up a beautiful udder. This extremely deep bodied heifers dam, BEE Tilly 664D, did an outstanding job as a first calf heifer and again has a good Standout heifer at side this year. Non Dilutor

This is another female from one of our Quebec cows. Miss Neuman is the second Rolling Acres Torque heifer on offer. Torque is an absolute meat machine and he has added that heavily sought after meat into his females. Miss Neuman also comes with good pigmentation and is as long spined as you can make them. This female could be bred to a variety of bulls to produce a profitable calf. Non Dilutor
Rubyette will be the first female that our oldest son Kyler will sell. His cow is an outstanding female that has had more than her fair share of unfortunate situations. This heifers sire, Viking, is a little secret that we have hidden in the bull battery. Originally he was purchased as our heifer bull however he soon out grow his position. I decided that he was too good to let go and that I would wait to see how his females produced. Well they produce! Outstanding females with the best udders on the farm. Needless to say, this deep bodied female won’t be the last Viking daughter. Non Dilutor
Dawn is a dark red, deep barrelled, bigger framed heifer that is sired by Tuxedo and is the result of a purchase from Langer Fleckvieh Simmentals. Dawn’s dam, LFS Pol Dawn 9D, is a blood red cow who has a nice tidy udder. She did a great job on her first calf (Dawn) and looks to have a very promising future going forward. Dawn is carrying an interesting service to the bull that has made a huge impact on our herd, Viper. Not to mention the calf has a chance of being born polled. Non Dilutor

Sarah is one of the younger females on offer and I believe she will have the ability to out perform herself year after year. Her mother has been an outstanding cow raising our high selling bull in 2017. Make note that she is bred to Viper for a middle of January calf. No matter whether you get a bull or heifer calf there is a very good chance that you will pay this heifer off with her first calf. Non Dilutor
Dark red, deep ribbed, wide, feminine….. I could go on but I think the easiest way to say it, is wow! This broody female is a hard one to watch go. Nydam is out of a first calf heifer that has again produced another outstanding female in the replacement heifer. Cliffhanger is our main heifer bull and has proven to be a curve bender. With many daughters in the last two replacement pens he has already worked himself out of a job. That being said, we will be utilizing him heavily in our AI program. We believe that he will inject milk into his daughters. Also note that Nydam grandmother, Nydam 54X, is our lead donor cow that has already left her mark on our herd and has only just began. Make a special note to the calf she is carrying. Danya is a heifer that needs to be seen in person. Sometimes animals don’t picture well and she is definitely one of them. Danya’s dam is a maternal sister to one of Rust Mountain’s lead donor cows, Beech Bros Yara 122Y, has made a huge impact in their herd. Essence will be one of the first Blue Chip females to sell. We were fortunate to team up with Canadian Sires to acquire Spring Creek Blue Chip and are looking forward to his first females to calve this January. With 56U as the grand sire we have some big expectations to say the least. Essence is a dark red female that is soft sided and is setting a beautiful udder. On the bottom side of the pedigree you will find a female, IPU Essence, that was bought from the Labatte Simmentals. Unfortunately, we lost her after only a couple calves. Homo Polled

Phoebe is a deep bodied female that is the result of a purchase at the Blacksand Dispersal. Phoebe 61B was the high selling heifer calf that day. Selling this bred heifer is a hard decision as it is her first heifer calf. You are lucky that she is a young cow. This year she put a bull in the bull pen. Having Commotion as her sire only sweetens the pot. Look forward to a good milking female with a nice square udder. Homo Polled
Fiona is a dark red, good haired, deep heifer that is very eye appealing. We haven’t had many daughters out of the Kopp 16W cow but when we get one we are excited. The only reason you get the opportunity at this one is the fact that we have a full sister in production. The Capone females are doing an excellent job and were able to bring in some of the heaviest calves out of all the first calf heifers this year. Also she is carrying an exciting calf out of our new heifer bull COLB Certified. I will be very interested in what she has as Certified is looking amazing. Homo Polled

Her mother is a picture perfect cow that always brings in a big calf. April, like her dam and granddam will have an outstanding udder. The Commotion females are just starting to come into production and originally, we only going to let a few of them go. It was a real toss up whether or not Amber should be allowed to come to town. She has been an extremely good heifer from the day she was born and this is the first female I have gotten out of 256Z. If it wasn’t our first year in this sale this wide topped, deep bodied heifer would not be leaving the farm. Amber was the second heaviest heifer last year and only started with an 89lbs birth weight. She ranks in the top 2% for weaning weight and the top 5% for yearling weight. Cari is a long spined, dark red, thick butted heifer who has great neck extension. Don’t be fooled by her lower milk epd, Cari’s dam 6X has enough milk to feed a small village. Proof of this is the fact that Cari was the third heaviest heifer at weaning last year. When breeding 6X to Capone I was hoping for a female as I believe the cross will work extremely well. Remy is a result of a purchase we made from Rust Mountain down in the States. With that being said Remy’s dam is the first animal we have imported into Canada and well I guess I didn’t realize that it took as long as it does to get all the paper work lined up. We are currently waiting on the DNA results to be returned and then Remy can be registered. We will guarantee that she will be registered. Remy is 570C’s first calf and her second is standing in the bull pen this year. Carrying an interesting early January calf out of Erixon Magnum. Homo Polled – Hetero Black by parentage.
Chelsea has been and still is the best black heifer in this years pen. She is extremely soft made and has always been an eye catcher. We are building our black program slowly and it is heifers like this that make a guy remember why he is taking his time. Also it makes the decision to sell her a hard one. With her great udder and maternally stacked pedigree she should make an outstanding front pasture cow. With my first Missile heifers calving last year I am really happy with the ease in which they put on flesh and the tremendous foot structure they possess. I have had two maternal sisters working at the farm and her maternal brother is a very interesting bull calf in this years bull pen. Homo Polled – Hetero Black

Falicia has what it takes to become a real maternal powerhouse! Check out her calving ease and milk EPDs. The Applecross Waylon heifers were well received at last year at Transcons Western Harvest so we decided to share a few more of them this year. We are happy with the Waylon females we have kept for ourselves because they are docile tempered, moderate framed, carry polled genetics and have proven themselves to be exceptional mama cows. Bred to “ Admiral”.
This heifer is the most powerful heifer in our offering this year. She has tremendous volume. We are very pleased with her sire Crossroads “Boundry”and what he has contributed to our fleckveih herd. Exceptional performance, great eye appeal and a maternal machine are words that describe Fritter. We are pretty sure she will have good longevity, as her dam is one of the older cows in the herd & still going strong and looking great! Bred early to the new Homo Polled, Non- diluter, dark red fleck herd sire Grindell’s HP Admiral.
It’s always exciting for us to bring an “Impact” bred heifer to town! Friction is a real feminine made heifer, with the signature Impact power behind her. She is bred early to our new Homozygous Polled, Non Diluter Fleck, herdsire “Admiral”. We will be eagerly awaiting the news of her calves arrival. Great colour, polled genetics, maternal power and sweet temperament are all qualities that Friction has. She will make a great future matron of your herd.

Fawn is a nice feminine “Waylon” daughter. With the Starwest Pol August, AKA “Gus” influence on her dam’s side, Fawn exhibits some
great performance. We think Fawn will grow into a great maternal cow. She is bred to the “Admiral” herd sire for an early polled calf.
Fiona is a heifer that catches your eye when you walk in the pen. Her dam is a trouble free cow that we really like. We are extremely happy the our Circle G Denver daughters and are excited to see what their first calf crop will bring. Fiona is bred to the new “ Admiral” herd sire who is a Dark Red, Fleckvieh, Homo Polled, and a non diluter.
Falina is a sweet yellow “ Waylon” heifer that we really like. She is built right and has a great set of EPDs across the board. Her Mackenzies Cane dam is an exceptional, worry free cow in our herd that has a great calf year after year for us. Falina is polled and bred to “Admiral” for a polled calf.

Fergie is a moderate, feminine made NCB Cobra female. She has a nice set of EPDs and is a good footed, tidy uddered, solid built heifer. Fergie is AI bred and safe in vets opinion to TESS Black Rampage on March 26, 2019.
Frangellica has the sweetest personality in the pen this year, she is the friendly pet. Another Denver female that has desirable depth and capacity to grow into a herd matron. Her dam has been a trouble free “Wilson” daughter, that is not a big cow, but is very feminine and has great milk supply, tidy udder, and sound footed. Frangellica appears to be an easy fleshing but not too large framed heifer that will save you on some of that valuable feed $$$.
Fabulous is one of the last “Andi” daughters that will be available, as we used WFL Mr. Westway 16A for several years and we no longer have him. We have been happy with the “Andi” offspring as they have been easy calving, sound footed, moderate framed animals with great temperaments. With all the generations of calving ease bred into Fabulous, her calf should come easy.

On behalf of the Anderson family, we would like to welcome you to the 2019 Western Harvest! We have been working hard to bring front-pasture cows to town and this year is no different. We are excited to watch these girls go to new homes and quickly become the favourites in the field. This year is a little extra special as all these heifers are safe to our home-raised heifer bull, TYS 331F, he’s been given the name “Little Boy” as he is going to be perfect for our heifers for years to come. His birth weight of 88 lbs means he’ll be throwing what we call “sleep-easy” calves.

Echo is an exceptionally deep-bodied, easy-going heifer, who is sired by Tymarc Ambush 57D. She’s a sweetheart who is the first to come running to the bunk when she hears the feed hitting the bottom, this girl has quite the personality and will shine in a crowd! Her mother is another treasure in our field.

Transcon’s Western Harvest Simmental Bred Heifer Sale 33
Polled. This will be our 1st Polled Maroon daughter that we have offered for sale. We were not planning on selling her because the last thing we want to happen is run out of females from our Marcy cow family. Both top quality bulls and females continue to be produced from this line and they are our first cows to go to when using polled genetics. LFS Miley is a great example as she has a dark red hair coat, good thickness, body capacity, unmatched disposition and setting up that beautiful Maroon udder. Miley comes bred to none other than Richmond Regis.
Bred March 21 and April 9 to Richmond Regis REG# 507260 - No exposure
These Maroon daughters continue to impress and this one also comes from arguably the best cow on my place. The Maroon cross with Zalinka came with incredible results as this heifer is by far the broodiest female we have sold to date and (long story) she also comes to you with a little extra age, a mistake that you will never catch me complaining about. LFS Fancy is thick, wide topped, deep bodied, loose hided, a dark cherry red hair coat and like every Maroon daughter you can count on a beautiful udder. Bred early to FGAF Seldom just puts the icing on the cake.

A dark cherry red bull with an outstanding pedigree and epd’s who is also proven to calve well on heifers.

We purchased Adrian’s mother at the 2013 Equation sale and she has been a wonderful addition to the herd. Angel Eye’s has been a trouble free cow with great feet, beautiful udder and really easy keeping. Mating Angel Eye’s with Whistler has proven to be a good choice. Adrian has developed into a powerful female with extra length, thickness , a nice hair coat and it appears that her udder will be flawless. AI’d old school to Sun Changer Sir Haxl I (809G x Rymar Karina) for a mid-January calf.

LOT 71When I imagined the perfect bull to breed Miss Diamond to Combustible seemed to have checked off all the boxes. Miss Diamond was purchased from Black Diamonds dispersal as an open heifer and has done a great job. We have retained 2 daughters in the herd that also do an amazing job on their calves and we have an open heifer in the keeper pen again this year. Black Velvet will be the beginning of a great cow family at her new owners place. She is deep, thick, has a great top line, is easy keeping and a very powerful, broody female that is tough to find any flaws on with a quiet disposition. We purchased an exclusive semen package on the $40,000 Black Gold Loaded UP (Approval) 71E at the New Years Resolution sale from Ultra Livestock and Hay Valley Ranch who they were using on their heifers. I expect this calf to be amazing.
We purchased a great little heifer calf from Swantewitt Simmentals a few years back and this will be her 2nd calf to make it to the sale ring. Alanna has been trouble free, has a nice udder, good feet and great to work with. Her daughter Exotica I believe will have all these attributes and more. The combustible X Alanna cross has produced a beautiful blaze faced heifer with extra length, clean fronted and a well-balanced female. Being bred to Cobra just sweetens the pot a bit more.

Transcon’s Western Harvest Simmental Bred Heifer Sale36
Welcome to the Western Harvest Simmental Bred Heifer Sale for 2019.It is a privilege for us to again join these elite breeders at this event. On offer this year is a group of females picked from the very top of our 2019 heifer pen. All exhibit spring of rib, depth of body, width through the hips, along with femininity. All of the heifers were AI’d to well accepted and known calving ease bulls and pregnancy checked safe to those dates. We are not going to keep repeating how good these heifers are, or how good their dams and sires are - none of them would still be here, if we didn’t admire and appreciate the job they have done and continue to do for us.If there is anything we can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sherry and I would like to welcome to the 2019 Western Harvest Sale. This year has come with its challenges! Two major snow storms one that delayed seeding the second other delayed harvest, couple that with a cool summer. Wow! We hope you can make the sale and don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions.Sincerely , Don and Sherry

Twin. Polled, this heifer is a favorite! She earned the nickname LuLu by our grand children, always the first to the fence line for a scratch. It is hard to let her go, well mannered and well put together. You can’t ask for much more. Oh did I mention that she is bred to Mader The National 43E!

Fullblood. Sweet Tea is a heifer you can’t help but notice in the pasture. Even though she is just a bred heifer she looks like a matriarch already. She’s an extremely long, full bodied, feminine heifer that is very similar in shape and style to a maternal sister that sold a couple of years back for $11,500. With United as her sire should guarantee that the females will be strong in this cow family for years to come. Even though she is due early January, with her being bred to Mission he does shorten the gestation on most heifers from 3-10 days so I would advise to keep a close eye on them. Her dam Shylo has another United heifer in our keeper pen this year.
On behalf of myself and Steve, we would like to welcome you all to the 6th annual Western Harvest Bred Heifer Sale. This years’ offering may be small, but mighty, and we think each of the heifers will go out and raise top end offspring that will compliment any herd. The heifers will be ivomeced and will have their first shots of scour guard prior to sale as well as being vaccinated this past spring with Virasheild 6+VL5 HB killed vaccine and Tasvax 8Way. Special thanks to last years buyers, Virginia Ranch, Mark Land and Cattle, and Starwest Farms. We’d love to have you stop in and see the heifers for yourselves. Coffee and conversation are a guarantee!

Full Fleck. Becca Jane has been one of my favorites out of my bred heifers this year. I really, really like this heifer. She is well balanced and looks like she will have a supreme udder. A moderate framed, very stylish looking heifer. Being bred to Mission for a mid January calf should make this calf loaded with pigment, good footed, easy muscling and a keeper. I can’t say how lucky we are to have purchased Mission from Virginia Ranch a couple of years back. One of the best purchases we have ever made. Her Dam Billie Jean was a high seller of Virginia Ranch that we purchased 4 years ago at their sale and she has been one hard working female. If she keeps raising them like Becca Jane I really think this could be the last heifer I sell off of her. Billie Jean has a really, good United bull calf in the pen this year and is bred back to United again.
Exposed to Virginia Mission 338D March 16- April 13. Ultrasound safe for mid January calving.
Full Fleck. Raindrop was destined to stay in the herd this year, but when we had to pull one of the other sale heifers, we decided she would have to take her place. He dam, Raindance, and Grandmother, Melane, have had many bulls and heifers in our other sales with the most recent bull selling to Ferrybank Farming and a granddaughter of Malane selling last year to Starwest Farms. This heifer was the pick of Glenn Norton’s when he came to look at them and I have to say I really wish she was staying in my replacement pen. She should have an awesome udder and be a problem free heifer. Her sire Indiana is about as dark red and problem free of a bull as you will ever find. Bred to Mission for a little later calving for us, early February, is the only reason she was picked out of the replacement pen to bring to town. This too will probably be the last heifer of Raindance that I sell as she is getting up in age and I don’t have many offspring of hers.
Exposed to Virginia Mission 338D March 16- April13, 2019 and April 27 Observed bred April 27,2019. Preg tested safe to April 27 breeding.
