Virtual Living Project
ByShawn GuzmanFrankie Ochoa
Frankie
Systems Engineer (Frankie)• As a Systems Engineer, I make a gross salary of $90,000 and more
importantly, a monthly net pay of $5,625.• Systems Engineering as whole is essentially a combination of both
the business world and engineering world.• An individual who holds this title oversees and develops certain
processes that will produce a product, and satisfy the customer.• Generally, one strives to achieve a degree in engineering, but it
also heavily recommended that management classes are taken.• In all, the most important skills needed to succeed within this
career field are the ability to think out of the box, and the skills to convey one’s ideas through words and presentations.
Shawn
Electrical engineer (Shawn)• Since I am going to be an electrical engineer I
make $78,000 yearly and $4,875 monthly. • To obtain this career you need to have four years
of college.• To get this job you need to major mostly in
electrical engineering.• The degree I had to achieve is a Bachelors Degree
in electrical engineering. • The qualifications needed to be an electrical
engineer is that you need to be creative, able to communicate orally and through presentation.
Living Arrangement
• Frankie and I decided to move to San Francisco.• After much thought and consideration, we both
agreed upon to rent a condo together.• With out monthly net pay in mind, we were able
to rent a condo for $3,250 a month. • This condo included 2 bedrooms and 2
bathroom.• The complex in itself features a state of the art
fitness center, community theater and provides concierge and laundry services.

Expenses
• Since Frankie and I decided to split the cost of most of the accommodations to ease the burden of living.
• When tackling these expenses, we decided to to deal with our rent first.
• The rent costs in total, came out to be $3,250, but when spilt only equals $1,625
Expenses (Cont.)
• We have based our utility costs, such as gas, electricity, water, trash, and internet upon information given by the condo complex and general pricing within the San Francisco area.
• Furthermore, we had to consider our eating habits. To conserve money, it was decided we would cook most of our meals, and occasionally go out to restaurants.
• Moreover, we are not splitting personal costs such as cell phone, entertainment, health insurance, and shopping.
Car Expense
• We have decided to co-purchase a used 2011 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class SL550.
• The full price was $98,981, however we chose to pay off the car in three years total. This means our car payment is $1,489.27 per person, with a starting down payment of $1,000.
• We decided to be insured by All-State. The cost of the insurance is $166 per month or $2,030 a year.
• Are you in good hands?
Research
• Our research went well as we were able to prove the entire of our expenses.
• We learned how to make various payments, such as car payments.
• We were able to learn how to budget money without over spending.
Improvements
• We don’t believe much anything can be improved within this project.
• The directions were explained thoroughly and were placed in easily understandable terms.
• However, even the instructions that were not made clear, added a certain reality to this project that influenced us go above and beyond.
The more you know…
• Life is filled with a plethora of complexities, that are not easily handled.
• We both have a renewed respect for our parents and elders who rise over these everyday challenges.
