Play After you have purchased your video and downloaded that video to your iPad/Android Tablet, you can

then begin using the video while exercising on any treadmill or other indoor equipment.

1. On the main window, select the video to play by tapping a video title.

2. Tap on the Play Video icon. The video will play in full screen mode. The video can be started at

the beginning (default), at a specific mile/km or at the last saved point.

3. The speed of the course video can be controlled either manually or interactively using wearable

technology. (For more information see sections re: Running Manual Mode and Running with

Wearable tech).

4. The video can be played to completion or stopped at any time by tap along the bottom and

pressing the pause icon. A user can choose to resume or save the run to complete later.

5. The dashboard along the top will display the elapsed time, distance, pace, heart rate (if using

the heart rate monitor), cadence (if using the foot pod), and the PR pace (if the user has a prior

recorded time with the video to race against).

6. Each time a workout is run, it is recorded in the History window. Users tap the History button to

the left side to see the tabular list or along the bottom to see a graphical view of running history.

7. Posting a run to Facebook/Twitter is optional. Users are prompted at the end to share results.

Tap the User Profile button from the main window to enable and configure this option.

Running or Exercising Manual Mode Use this method when playing a video to manually set a video speed to match the pace of your treadmill

or the pace of other exercise equipment.

1. Once a video is selected, on the screen and ready to play, tap the “-“ and “+” buttons that

appear on the top left to set the video speed to match the speed of the treadmill. These buttons

fade away after a few seconds.

2. By touching the area again the buttons will reappear, enabling adjustment of speed throughout

the run, if desired.

3. The video can be played to completion or stopped at any time by pressing along the bottom and

tapping the pause icon. A user can chose to resume or save the run to complete later.

4. A dashboard along the top will display the elapsed time, distance, pace, and PR pace (if the user

has a prior recorded time with the video to race again).

Running or Exercising with Wearable Tech

Use this method to control the video speed automatically with a foot pod synced with your

iPad/Android Tablet. Virtual Runner supports ANT+ or Bluetooth Light foot pods and heart rate

monitors.

ANT+ Setup ANT+ requires an ANT+ foot pod. The iPad also requires the Wahoo Dongle. For some Android tablets,

ANT+ is built-in and does not require a Dongle. To configure:

o Insert the Wahoo Dongle into the iPad connector port.

o Tap on the Device Setup button at the bottom of the main window.

o Make sure that the selector in the top right is set to “ANT+”.

o Be sure the ANT+ Network Enabled on top right reads “Yes”.

o Tap on the Connect button for the Foot Pod Device row.

o Tap on the Connect and select your foot pod device. Note that you must be walking or

shaking the foot pod to activate it. If the foot pod does not work after a minute of

walking, replace the battery.

o To also use an ANT+ heart rate monitor tap Connect for the heart rate row and tap

Connect. Be sure that the heart rate monitor pad is wet. If your heart rate monitor is not

working after several minutes of vigorous exercises, replace the battery.

Manual Speed

Control (Note this fades

after a few seconds but

will brighten when

touched again.)

Allows the option to

either pause or save a

workout so you can

continue at a later time.

o Tap on the Connect button for the Foot Pod Device row.

o Make sure that the selector in the top right is set to “Bluetooth Smart”.

o Tap on the Connect button and select your foot pod device. Note that you must be

walking or shaking the foot pod to activate it. If the foot pod does not work after a

minute of walking, replace the battery.
