VIRTUALIZATIONDelizo, Mary Reinalyn Joyce C.
Virtualization in Bizagi is a data-level integration mechanism that allows the Process data model to connect to
external data sources.
Connect
Process data model
Example of an external data source
Introduction to Virtualization
With Virtualization:Processes access information stored across
multiple data sources Integration is done transparently for end users in
execution time Information of a virtualized entity is viewed and
updated
Examples of information handled through Virtualization are:
• customers or vendor details• invoices• purchase orders
How does it work?
ensure external data source adheres to best practices and requirement guidelines
Configuring is done by defining the external system and its data provider
For a minimum configuration, an assisted graphical wizard takes charge
How does it work?
ensure external data source adheres to best practices and requirement guidelines
Configuring is done by defining the external system and its data provider
For a minimum configuration, an assisted graphical wizard takes charge
Prerequisites
External data source must meet the ff. conditions:
1. Access to external information system
must be available in real time Such access involves granting both read
and write rights to that data source.2. Recommended that database has
normalization in its design.
Important Characteristics
1. Virtualization only applies for tables in external data sources as Master Entities
2. Configuring Virtualization is easily
done through a graphical wizard.
Virtualization Wizard assists the definition for the data provider's connection.
Supported database versions by the Virtualization
Database Engine Version
Microsoft SQL Server 201220082008 R2
2005
Oracle 9i
10g R1
10g R2
11g R1
11g R2
Major BenefitsUsing Virtualization:
Benefits for the actual implementation of project: work separated according to different roles clean & corporate data model for process
information. (managing & exchanging )
deal with the data used by Process Processes workflows need not to include any
technical activities organizational Processes remain easily readable &
understandable
deal with data access or field-mapping configurations is not needed
single component providing all data access management
interfaces with external systems is reduced.
