What is a Vision Program Support Teacher (PST)?
A Program Support Teacher (PST) is an educator or administrator who provides leadership and training to others who are involved in individualized educational programming. A vision PST is a professional who applies their knowledge in the field of Vision to support individualized educational programs for students who are blind or have a visual impairment.
By collaborating with vision specialists and other educators, Vision PSTs guide and enhance appropriate services for these students with low vision or blindness.
Why attend Vision PST meetings?
Vision PST meetings provide education and guidance to professionals about statewide initiatives from the Department of Public Instruction.

2020-21 PST Meetings (Lunch provided!)
Fall Statewide Meeting
October 23, 2020 Stevens Point
Mid-State Technical College
They also provide a forum for teachers and
professionals to discuss current
issues, introduce innovative teaching
techniques, and discuss significant
resources and topics related to the field.
Why are Vision PST meetings necessary? Working with students who have visual impairments is unique because teachers of the visually impaired (TVIs) and orientation and mobility instructors (O&Ms) work with students—aged birth to twenty-one with a wide range of visual, cognitive, and physical disabilities. TVIs and O&Ms often itinerant teach and are isolated from colleagues who could provide knowledgeable support. Vision PST meetings provide opportunities for problem-solving, collaboration, and peer support.
Our purpose is to provide the opportunity for teachers of the blind and visually impaired and orientation and mobility instructors to collaborate and learn together.
