US Green Building (USGBC)CouncilEnergy & Sustainability Training

Our team brings a unique perspective to energy management and training. We not only teach it, but we work in it every day through our energy management and consulting practice. FEA's educational and training programs have helped facilities staff become successful facilities professionals. The goal of our workshops and seminars is to encourage facilities professionals to move beyond their comfort zone and achieve real technical and business performance improvement.

As a USGBC Education Provider, FEA will be sharing our knowledge of energy and sustainability through courses. These courses are eligible for Green Building Certification Institute continuing education hours to maintain your LEED Accredited Professional or LEED Green Associate designation. Our live, instructor-led courses provide practical hands-on experience with case studies and technical expertise.

Course #1: Practical Strategies For Calculating & Reducing Your Carbon Footprint 4 GBCI HoursThis half-day course will introduce participants to the carbon footprint and the elements needed to calculate

the footprint for their facilities and their organizations. The workshop will walk you through how to calculate your carbon footprint, the data that needs to be collected, as well as providing you with tools and calculators to begin working on your organization’s carbon footprint. We will outline the hurdles we have encountered while calculating carbon footprints and show you how we overcame them. We will provide you with the tools you need to best accumulate the information you need. Most importantly, we will teach you to identify ways to decrease your carbon footprint by focusing on decreasing energy consumption.

Course #2: Sustainability Scorecard: A Roadmap to Sustainability in Existing Buildings 8 GBCI HoursThis one-day workshop is tailored to Facility Managers who are devoted to making their existing facilities

green without breaking the bank. Managers of existing building portfolios often ask the question, “Where do I start?” This workshop discusses how to develop a sustainability strategy that aligns with your organization’s mission and most importantly, how to implement that strategy. We identify the five key things you need to know to map out that strategy and develop SMART objectives.
