The Malta Tourism Authority came to our social media agency with the challenge of delivering a multilingual, multiplatform Facebook Social Media Campaign for Christmas 2013 to promote & advance Malta as a tourism destination. We designed, built & implemented a multilingual Advent calendar which enabled us to successfully achieve the campaign objectives including lead generation, fan-base growth & customer engagement in major European markets. The key results of the campaign include; - Over 53,000 entries - Over 9000 new page likes & low rate of ‘unlikes’ post campaign shows that correct audience was acquired - Facebook advertising activities delivered an audience reach of 2.247 million - Social PR potential audience reach of 2.735 million - Brand new audiences acquired for Visit Malta with 1.25% increase in new visitors to website during campaign. The Campaign – Advent Calendar

Each day Facebook visitors would be able to open a door on the advent calendar to see if they had won a prize

We worked with Visit Malta to publicise 24 fantastic days worth of prizes across 5 European languages

Entrants revisited on multiple days to be in with another chance of winning with an average of 3.4 entries per person

Set-up

We needed to find a suitable app that delivered an optimal online and mobile experience and could effectively and automatically deliver specific language content to the entrant based on their location

We designed and built the App in short timescales owing to the time bound nature of the campaign

We worked with offices across Europe to implement the App within their own Facebook pages

Prizes

We were required to update the Apps daily with new prizes and content and across multiple languages

With many of our campaigns we seek out partnerships with complimentary brands that can offer incentives and exposure. We were proud to acquire Crocs, Crew Clothing and Trunki as partners for this campaign, securing incentives and publicity through their own social channels for Visit Malta

Social PR

Online coverage was won through our network of influencers and bloggers, by contacting appropriate PR sites and online influencers and through our social media partner brands

This delivered a potential audience reach of 2.735 million

Facebook advertising

Our Facebook advertising activities delivered an audience reach of 2.247 million and we were able to show a clear cost per click of under €0.20

Regular Optimisation of Facebook adverts was highly successful using a combination of promoted posts, Ads in the Newsfeed and RHS column Ads

These were delivered across multiple European languages, delivering better and better results as the campaign developed
