Me and my colleagues Ilinca and Raduwere chosen to represent our school in the 2014 COMENIUS AIMS project meeting in Poland. We were very happy to be chosen, 

because we put so much effort in the project activities in our school. 

After the flight, we met the Greek and the Dutch students in the airport in Cracow, then we met our host families at the Krak hotel in Myslenice. After that, each of us left with their hosts. I had a walk around Droginia, the city where I was staying, with my host Magda and her friends. The city was very nice, clean and the parks and the lake were beautiful. We got to know each other very well and we had a 

wonderful time!

The second day, the mayor showed us a presentation about Myslenice in the town hall. Then, we had the official part at school, where all the participants were presented. The Polish students even sang 

traditional songs for us! After that, we all played a really nice game where we all got to introduce 

ourselves. We made a lot of friends! Then, after we had lunch at a restaurant, we had a “treasure hunt”in Myslenice. There were six groups, and each of them needed to find, in certain places marked on a map, Math problems and clues about the name of a mathematician. We had a very nice day!! Then, me, 

Radu, a Greek girl, our hosts and other Polish friends went horse riding! It was very exciting!

Tuesday we went to visit Cracow  and we were not disappointed. A guide showed us all the touristic attractions in the city like Saint Mary’s Basilica and many others. Then, we went  to see a mathematical interactive exhibition in “Collegium Maius” at the Jagiellonian University. There were all kinds of 

mathematical formulas, proven in a practical way, with real objects to ease their understanding. We saw many amazing ideas and mathematical games and experiments! We stayed there for a while, then ate lunch at a restaurant nearby. After that, we got 

separated into groups again and solved a mathematical “crime mistery”. We had to figure out who kidnapped “the professor”, by doing different activities and solving math problems. After it was 

over, we went back in Myslenice.

Wednesday, the third day, we went to school and solved Mathematical puzzles and problems, also in groups. Then, after we had lunch at a restaurant, we visited a local library and got to know it very well. On the computers there, we had to solve a mathematical test. When we finished them, we got back to school and 

designed pages for the “AIMS Magazine”, in groups. It was fun. After that, we went home and, together with Radu, the Greek girls, our hosts and Polish friends from the city we went to play tennis! Even though most of us were very bad at this sport, we had a wonderful 

time!

On the fourth day, in the morning, we finished working on the “AIMS Magazine” and then we left to Cracow, where we had a very interesting Math lecture at the Jagiellonian University. In the afternoon, we were free to visit the city centre, buy souvenirs and eat lunch in one of 

the quiet terraces there. In the evening, we had a goodbye meeting with the host families, 

students and teachers. Even though we were very sad because we were going to leave, we ate delicious food and danced on all types of music 

– French, Italian, Greek, Dutch, Polish and Romanian.

The last day was, I think, the saddest one, because we only saw each other for a few 

hours in the morning for an evaluation activity, before we left Poland. But, happily, we met the 

Greek, Dutch and Italian students in the airport, so we talked with them for a while, then we flew back home. When we went to 

school on Monday, we couldn’t wait to tell our classmates all the things we did. It was, truly, a once in a lifetime experience, which I will not 

forget!
