Celebrate MASS at the Church of St. Francis Xavier, which still houses “miraculous” Hosts, physically incorrupt and chemically pure. Meet your local GUIDE and visit the Church of St. Catherine where Christ appeared with his Blessed Mother and the whole court of heaven and handed Catherine a mystical ring as a sign of the espousal union. Her greatest claim to fame was in 1417 when she convinced the papacy to move back to Rome. Take a walking tour of the city, visit-ing the major sites associated with St. Francis and St. Clare, including the Chiesa Nuova, built over the home of St. Francis’ family and the Church of San Rufino, with the baptismal font of the Saint. Monday, October14, 2013 / ASSISICelebrate MASS in the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels in the lower city. You will see the diminutive Church of the Porzi-uncola, within the larger church. Also visit the rose garden. Visit the Church of St. Clare, where she lies in repose. See the original “San Damiano” crucifix that spoke to St. Francis, urging him to “Rebuild my Church”. Tuesday, October 15, 2013/ ASSISI / ORVIETO / BOLSENA / ROMEDepart for the medieval city of Orvieto. Celebrate MASS in the Cathedral where they keep the Blood stained linen corpo-ral from the Eucharistic miracle which occurred in nearby Bolsena. You will have the opportunity to see the corporal.
