Regulator: 1KVA UPS Grounding: The printer must be grounded; the earth-plate must be firm and effective, so that the printer can prevent itself from static and leakage. If you don’t have the standard grounding device in the workshop, you must do as the following: Dig a hole of 1 meter-length,1 meter-width and 1.5 Meter-depth, put one piece of metal plate, especially copperplate, of 10mm-thickness and connect a lead wire to the ground as the grounding end. You should not use the pipe or the conductor you think of. The static of the printer can not be higher than 5V!

1.2 Safety Precautions! Warning!

Vista printers are designed accord with all the safety requirements of printing equipments. But to

ensure 100% safety, the operator should follow the safety precaution and operation instruction of

this manual and the improved version in future seriously.

Only the operator who is correctly trained, and qualified to operation can be allowed to do

installation & maintenance.

Without JHF’s written permission, any modification, deletion, or replacement of is prohibited; if

did the machine warranty will be invalid immediately.

The operator should learn this manual seriously and keep the manual somewhere which is easy to

get.

Since the equipment is a separate system, please do not use same power supply with other

power-eating equipments or electric interferential equipments to prevent the machine from

electric harm.

During the process of equipment works, the abruptly power off or Over-strong voltage (current)

will bring to un-forecast damages.

Neither let the equipment works near flammable liquid or gas, nor under the environment of

excessive dry and wet place.

To prevent the electronic parts from hot, please do not block the intake.

The computer is only used for controlling the printer. You are recommended that you won’t

install any other software except the printing software lest occur the software interference caused

Page 6: VISTA PRINTER MANUAL - halk.ruXaar XJ500 4 print heads/4colors, 6 print heads/6 colors Xaar XJ128 8, 12, 16 print heads/4 color,12 print heads/6 color Spectra 256 4, 8 print heads/4

by virus or different RIP software, and decrease the working speed and even the computer

freezes suddenly. You are also recommended that you have another computer for designing the

RIP file purpose. When the RIP file is ready, you save it in the printer’s computer. You are

recommended to delete the file or save the file in disc, floppy disc or other computer after the file

has been printed instead of saving the file in the printer’s computer.

The ink and solution are harmful for people’s eyes and skin; you should clean it as soon as it

splashes into the eyes.

The ink and solution have the property of volatilization, so you should cover it when it isn’t used

against the volatilization of the efficient components, which may cause the ink and solution

invalidation. The invalid ink will damage the print head. The ink should be shook before it will

be used.

Please make sure there is no ink on the electric circuit board and cables lest circuit short or

turn-off.

It is strongly suggested that you turn off the general power before you disconnect or connect any

parts of the printer. Some cables in chain along the print-head carriage move frequently, so the connection on both

ends should be fixed tightly in case the strong movement causes the phenomenon of incomplete sending -signal.

It the equipment can not work normally, please check the troubleshooting and make some

maintenance and repair, and also you should contact with service department of JHF company to

get some help.

JHF Company can not promise that once a person read this manual then he/she can be eligible to

operate, test and calibrate this printer.

JHF Company has right to explain this manual, and can not ensure this manual is totally accord

with your purchased machine model due to the market change. Please ask latest manual match

Note: Ink Supply: when the ink is on the bottom, floater sensor is on the bottom of the sub ink tank, it gives the signal of connection, the ink supply board and the main ink tank is connected by the 24V, and the pump works, the ink is going to the ink tank; when is on the upper limit level, the floater sensor gives the break signal, ink supply is stopped. During printing the ink in sub ink tank will falls gradually, after the ink supply the ink level increases again. It means the ink will be keeped in a suitable scope to keep the printing works well. Lack-ink Alarm: when the ink in the main ink tank is going finishing, the pump will keep working

because the connection signal keeps. When the pump works out of the time limit (the time to fill two sub ink tanks time under the normal ink supply condition), the ink supply board will alarm and the indicator will blink to remind the operator to fill the ink.

(Pic5-4)XJ128 Printhead Ink Tube Connection (Spraying Down)

(Pic5-5)XJ 128 Printhead Installation (Side Spraying Vertically) First process of feeding ink is a very important, which affect the performance and stability of the printhead. Please try best to exhaust all air out of printhead and ink-supply system. Feeding ink at first time successfully or not is due to following factors, which include position of put printhead and flow speed of feeding ink. It is very common way to put the printhead in “spraying down” way. It is very

difficult put way. You shall use 0.5 and 1.5 pa pressure to feed ink, using different pressure to spray 5 seconds and repeating it for 5 times is better

The best way to feed ink is to let inlet down. “Side spraying vertically” installation is to use less than 0.5 pa press feed ink into the printhead slowly. The ink will flow from the inlet during feeding ink. Please feed ink about 5 or 6 second and don’t stop feeding until the inks flowing from the inlet will not burble

It is also recommended that you should adopt vacuum -cleaning and pressure feeding way to feed printhead. Every way takes 5 seconds and repeating 10 times is better.

Please let fed-full-ink print head have a rest for 30 minutes, which will prevent from tinny air bubble piling on the filter inside the printhead.

6.3.4.13 First Using Print head Please follow to the following maintenance to protect the printhead beginning at the first time of using printhead Please note that you use a few ink spray and clean the printhead for XJ128 printhad

is non wetting coating type of printhead. This function of this kind of non wetting coating is to wipe off the ink on the nozzle plat and it start printing when the nozzle plate is dry.

XJ 128/200 plus printhead need a certain quantity of ink cleaning and wiping complete nozzle plate, which will help to put a thin layer of ink on the nozzle plate. Uniform and thin layer of ink on the nozzle plate is very important and necessary for operation and high performance of printhead. Wetting coating nozzle plate needs a period of protection, which will make the nozzle plate create a union player of ink film before using the printhead.

XJ128 printhead is ready for use after going through suitable ink feed- and- clean process.

6.3.5 Maintenance, Stability and Life Span of Printhead Maintenance is the core to keep XJ128 print heads performance and stability. XJ128/200 & XJ128/360 print heads are equipped with non-wet coating (NWC), its maintenance is different from XJ128/200 plus.

Since XJ128 plus print head uses a wet coating nozzle plate, it is critical to keep one layer of thin oil film on the nozzle plate surface. Only this measure will keep the print head running normally under an appointed working frequency for a long time. Its different factor asks the nozzle plate not dry, which brings about high performance of print head 6.3.5.1. The Reason of Maintenance of Print head Main Reasons to maintain print heads: Keep Lift span Keep Reliability Keep High Performance

The extent of maintenance will directly affect the print head working Cleaning ink on the nozzle plate and exhausting all air out in the channel. Keep a thin layer of ink film on the nozzle plate of XJ128 nozzle plate. All these factors are due to working environment, working load, ink type and printing media. 6.3.5.2. Maintenance Methods A. Operation Maintenance It is a kind of maintenance during the printing. B.Short Time Maintenance It is kind of maintenance during stop period. For example, making maintenance before the printing or finishing printing. C. Long Time Maintenance It is kind of maintenance after working for a day or turning off the power for whole system, that is to say it is a kind of maintenance when stop working. The way of maintenance includes cleaning the print head using cleaning solution or using a closed cover to cover the print head. 6.3.5.3.Maintenance Way Please use one or combined way: A. Pressing cleaning Pressing cleaning technology has two functions: Cleaning air and duty stuff inside the nozzle channel Cleaning duty stuff on nozzle plate Please increase the press of ink- supply slowly till you exhaust all ink out of nozzle channel. The way is as following picture:

(Picture5-6) Note: 1 kPa=10 mPa 100 mm ink column

If the operating temperature is different from its working temperature, pressing cleaning printhead will decrease the temperature and thus affect the performance of printhead. So, it need heating itself before restart running. One of no need reheating is to increase temperature before the ink into the printhead. B. Vacuum Cleaning In order to make this cleaning way perfectly, it needs an ideal closed surrounding around the nozzle plate. Also, please only use soft material; otherwise it will hurt the nozzle plate when cleaning. C. Wiping Cleaning It is normally to wipe the print head with a piece of soft cloth. Please just wipe in one direction. If you wipe go- and -back, it will take other duty chips on the nozzle plate. The best way to wipe is to move at straight angle against nozzle rows. In order to prevent from hurting the nozzle plate, please do not wipe the nozzle plate when it is dry. Normally, wiping goes after spray cleaning. Wipe cleaning is only used with XJ128/200 plus print head. Please do not use wipe cleaning with XJ128/200 and XJ128/360, which are not wetting coating nozzle plate. Wipe cleaning on the XJ128/200 and XJ128/360 may hurt their nozzle plates. D. Vacuum Cleaning It has two important functions: Cleaning extra ink on the nozzle plate Cleaning dirty stuff on the nozzle plate When cleaning the dirty stuff on the nozzle plate, please make sure not let the vacuum cleaning tube contact the nozzle plate. If so, it will hurt the print head coating forever, especially XJ128/200 and XJ128/360 no wetting coating. Vacuum cleaning is normally used for cleaning the ink remains on the print head after spraying cleaning. It is very ideal maintenance way for non-wetting-coating print head type. E.Absorbing Ink Plate When XJ128/200 and XJ128/360 print head are used along with some inks, you may need a kind of “sucking ink” maintenance skill. Absorbing ink plate shall be qualified absorbable cloth or sponge. Please note that it is not allowed to mop the print head horizontally, otherwise the non-wetting-coat will be destroyed. Sucking cloth or sponge should contact thin ink layer film instead of nozzle plate. You’d better just use this kind of cleaning way on the non-wetting coating nozzle plate. F. Ink Flashing If the print head full of ink inside, stops working for a long time, the inside ink mixing air will change the quality in some way. Therefore, it affects performance of print head and then even clog nozzle. Ink flashing is a kind of skill, which makes fresh ink flowing through nozzle by continuously flashing. The quantity of flashing ink and frequency depends on the ink, system appliance and experience. G. Covering Covering is a kind of processor to prevent the nozzle from dust and destroy when print head is not working.

6.3.6 Printhead Temperature Internal Energy Controlling print head temperature is very important for making print head working stable. The print head create heat when the print head print or stop printing if the print head is power on. The highest absolute temperature of the print head can not exceed 55 °C. If exceeding 50°C, it will destroy the print head definitely. Following factors affect working temperature of print head: ‧Created by print head itself (radiator)

Page 68: VISTA PRINTER MANUAL - halk.ruXaar XJ500 4 print heads/4colors, 6 print heads/6 colors Xaar XJ128 8, 12, 16 print heads/4 color,12 print heads/6 color Spectra 256 4, 8 print heads/4

‧Created by practice (mechanism and liquid themselves) ‧Ink type ‧Internal Energy (electron parts) ‧Environmental Energy Dissipate

The highest energy of the print head is 6 watt. The heat of XJ128 print head is between 1 watt and 2 watts. The effective release heat of the print head is chassis.

6.4 Maintenance of Printer Mechanical System Please often fasten the screws with moving part of the printer Oil the rail guide one time every week. Oil the bearings one time every half year Refasten the screws on the print head carriage every month Refasten every parts one time every yea
