Principals Message
Members Only! Hey, Thats YOU!Did you know that as a family member of a Ventana Vista student, you are
automatically a member of our Family Faculty Organization? There are no dues fomembership; however, we rely heavily on active participation in this importantorganization from our parents, in order to make our school the way we all havecome know and love!
The mission of the Ventana Vista FFO is to: Promote the welfare of children;provide communication between the faculty and families to facilitate academiccooperation; and assist the school in coordinating programs that provide ourstudents with current educational practices. The VVFFO shall conduct fundraisingactivities consistent with its status as a nonprofit corporation. In addition, we willuse volunteer support throughout the school.
Thanks to the support of the FFO, we enjoy programs and events such as our NewFamily Ice Cream Social, Book Fairs, Halloween Extravaganza, Family ScienceNights, the Bobcat Run, Principals Breakfasts, Love of Reading Night, ScienceFair, Field Trips, and more! In addition, our teachers have been the gratefulrecipients of classroom funds from the FFO that reduce the out-of-pocket expensesthey would otherwise incur when providing supplies/materials for special projects. The FFO has funded technology purchases, as well as school beautificationprojects, and so much more!
All parents have busy, hectic schedules, and when it comes to participating in theFFO, may think, Oh, someone else will step up. They dont need ME! YES, WEDO! We are SO appreciative of the current and past FFO Board Members. Thesevolunteers work tirelessly to help the organization achieve its mission. However, these individuals cannot do it all themselves. We have had to cancel one event sofar this year (BINGO Night) because of lack of volunteers to lead the event.
So, how can you help? We are in need of volunteers to serve on next years FFOExecutive Board. Those who are currently serving will mentor new boardmembers. We are also in need of many chair-people. Most of the events/programlisted above require a chair or co-chairs who can take the lead and organize othersto help make them happen.
Please consider how you can contribute in order to keep our FFO alive and well. Please feel free to contact me with questions. Or, you can reach our current FFOPresident, Nadine Stoner at [email protected] by calling the school office(well pass along your message!).
THANK YOU!

Subject: Open Enrollment for School Year 2014-2015
Pursuant to A.R.S. 15-816 Catalina Foothills School District will begin its open enrollment
procedures for the 2014-2015 school year effective December 1, 2013. The law requires every
Arizona school district to follow a prescribed procedure and timetable for admitting out-of-
district transfer students and resident transfer students (those who live in the District but are
attending a school outside the attendance area of their residence). All students who currently
attend CFSD schools and reside in other districts, and all CFSD resident students who are
attending a different school than they would based on their residence, are impacted by this law.
We require that all open enrollment students apply for admission each year. Therefore, if your child is a resident transfer (open enrollment) student and you want him/her to
continue in that capacity, or if your child resides outside of the district and you want him/her to
continue to attend a CFSD school next year, please complete an application form between
December 1, 2013, and February 28, 2014.
Open Enrollment applications and information regarding the application
process are on the district web site, www.cfsd16.org(as of December 1, 2013), orat the district office Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The district office is located
at:
Catalina Foothills School District
J. W. Murphey Administration Center
2101 E. River Road
Tucson, AZ 85718
(520) 209-7539
Applications will be available as of December 1, 2013, and may be completed on line
(www.cfsd16.org), or submitted in person at the district office. Electronic applications must be
submitted no later than February 28, 2014, and hard copies by 4:00 p.m. February 28, 2014.
Decisions about admission, based on capacity, will be made by April l, 2014. At that time, all
applicants will be notified whether their applications have been accepted, wait listed, or declined.
