MIRROR FOR PEOPLE
TOPIC
INTRODUCTION
Visual media refers collectively to all media technologies that are intended to reach a large audience via visual communication, for the awareness of people from various unwanted activities incarcerated our country.
Advantages
&
Disadvantages
Advantages: Education and keeping up with world events, exposure to different cultural aspects, broadening of experiences, and its a positive form of entertainment in moderation (reading/watching TV/listening to music instead of out getting into trouble), etc.
Disadvantages: desensitization to violence, exposure to drug use (seeing or hearing about it), stress from certain types of media (like hearing too many scary things from the war or the economy), possibility of weight problems if too much time is spent in front of the TV or computer, potential lack of social skills if media usage leads to isolation, etc.
Importance of
In cases of emergency or disaster, visual media plays an important role in disseminating information. Communication between health professionals and journalists is critical before, during and after a disaster. The public often relies on the media for information, and in situations like hurricanes and other disasters, people will remain glued to their radios and televisions to get the latest news. The way health and emergency personnel conduct themselves and deal with the media in these situations has a large impact on public perception of the disaster.
