• Promote economic development and regional integration, peace and security for people

• Each REC establishes own priorities based on continent wide priorities:

– Land and water management

– Market access– Food supply and

hunger– Agricultural research

CHALLENGES TO REC’S MAIN OBJECTIVE

– Leadership for the response– Resource mobilisation– Recognise health as risk

factor to development– Investment in Health

– Encourage Cross border initiatives

• Training and skills building– Planning and management

• Assisting in creation of a conducive policy environment

• Documentation and sharing of best practices

• Assist in developing CB strategies.

• Coordination of all CB activities

• Assist in the global result chain
