Korea Feed Ingredients Association was founded in 1978 to develop both the livestock industry and the feed industry with the new scientific technical improvement and reasonable management of feed ingredients, feed additives, and TMR(Total Mixed Ration). It has greatly contributed to the growth and invigoration of the livestock industry for 38 years.

In order to achieve quality improvement and safety assurance, the association has an important role in developing excellent feed and improving quality by opening the feed analysis center and by getting the designation as the publically certified feed examination agency from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

Furthermore, it is doing its best to help the overall development of the feed industry and the improvement of quality by providing the livestock industry development status and the latest domestic and overseas information for the homepage of the association and is making an effort to make the creative and efficient association.

The association will also make a greater effort to contribute to domestic and overseas livestock industry development by supplying quality feed and to have Korean products globally recognized by producing quality feed.It is hoped that the feed developed and produced by the members of the association through perfect quality control will serve the development of the Korean feed industry and the global livestock industry. Loan facilitation for the funds to purchase feed ingredientsWe have promoted loan facilitation for the funds to purchase feed ingredients every year to supply feed ingredients and stabilize feed prices under changes in market circumstances such as international feed grain prices, exchange rates and increase in ocean freight charge.

Helping member companies participate in livestock expos abroad and issuance of export certificateWe have helped our member companies participate in livestock expos abroad and have an opportunity to advertise their high-quality products. For this, we have issued BSE Certificate, Free Sale Certificate and Feed Safety Certificate.

Feed quality and safety educationWe have provided feed safety education to workers in feed industry and distributed safe and sanitary livestock products to consumers through the supply of institutional and technical information on feed quality and safety.

Supply of a variety of useful information and publication of a collection of laws on control of livestock and fish feedWe have shared diverse statistical data and the latest information on livestock and feed industries including price trends (ex: Grain feed, roughage, DDGS, etc.) and the production of feed ingredients, supplements, TMR feed and livestock-rearing feed and published a manual which contains the latest amendments, a collection of laws on control of livestock & fish feed and feed processing manual.

Taking care of inconvenience and difficulties in member companiesWe have investigated any inconvenience and difficulties that our member companies have suffered from quarterly, improved their competitiveness and management performances through deregulation and improvement of feed management systems and protected their rights and interests.

Safe & high-quality feedA stepping stone for the growth and development of livestock industry The ultimate goals of the Korea Feed Ingredients Association (KFIA)

Import declaration of feed and recommendation of low dutiesWe have prevented the import of hazardous feed and promoted its stable production and quality improvement and made a contribution to the development of livestock industry by regulating matters on the supply-demand stabilization, quality management and safety of imported feed. In addition, we have recommended low duties (ex: Roughage, supplements, etc.) on imported feeds through concession, quota and FTA and helped our member companies reduce feed costs by alleviating the burden of tariffs (KRW 101.9 billion as of 2012).

Named Imported Feed Certification AgencyWe have provided fast and accurate certification services on for retesting of feeds which are subject to import declaration, ingredient registration and self-inspection. To strengthen analysis & certification capability, in particular, we have participated in the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) every month and American Oil Chemists’ Society annually and earned Approved Chemist Certificate with good scores.

Guidance and inspection on the follow-up management of imported feedWe have strengthened the guidance and inspection on the follow-up management of imported feed to protect our member companies from violating related laws and getting penalties and tried to keep their illegal distribution under control.

Named ‘HACCP Education & Training Institute’We have provided education & training to produce safe and high-quality feeds through better understanding of HACCP for feed manufacturing factory and acquisition of practical skills and by fostering experts.

Feed additivesFeed supplements are feed additives used to improve the quality of feeds. They include probiotics, vitamins, enzymes, flavors, preservatives, emulsifier and extraction agents.

Feed ingredients Feed ingredients which refer to the basic ingredients of feed are divided into three categories: vegetable ingredients (ex: grains such as corn, meals, brans, fibers, etc.); animal ingredients (ex: fish meal, bone meal, etc.) and mineral ingredients (ex: calcium phosphate, salt, etc.)

TMR(Total Mixed Ration)Fibrous feed ingredients refer to total mixed ration (TMR) made of fibrous ingredients with rich crude fiber contents (15% or higher) with an addition of cereal grains, meals and brans. They are fed to ruminants including cattle and sheep.

CTCZYME

Animal enzyme(β-mannanase) product can increase absorption of nutrition. Target substrate of CTCZYME is mannan which is one of worst anti nutritional factor in general feed and by using CTCZYME, users can remove negative effect of mannan. Not only removing negative effect of mannan but also CTCZYME can contribute additional energy in feed. Users can use this advantage to maximize their profit in feed formulation. CTCZYME is stable under pellet condition and animal stomach condition. Therefore CTCZYME can be used in most of feed types without any additional cost or facility.

New anti-bacterial product. eXolution has different mode of action compare to conventional antibiotics. Because of this unique mode of action, eXolution can control antibiotic resistance bacteria. eXolution has very specific target bacteria to kill. Therefore eXolution controls only harmful bacteria in animal intestine

and does not effect to beneficial bacteria in animal intestine.

PHYTAMAX Phytamax improves the efficiency of utilizing a phosphorus source in feed.

General Description This product is a new type of fermentation enzyme for monogastric animals, especially the livestock and poultry. Phytamax can degrade phytate and phosphorus phytate in inositol and inorganic phosphoric acid, which improves the phosphorus utilization rate in feed while reducing the usage of inorganic phosphorus therein.

CharacteristicsIt's a synergetically boosted mixture of natural minerals with a high level of purity. Emulsifiers are widely used in the food industry because they facilitate the processing of food and improve the quality of the resulting products. They are derived from edible fats, which consist of molecules with both hydrophilic and lipophilic characters, thus conferring surface-active properties upon the emulsification.

Purpose Various fat/oil sources are used to increase energy value in livestock industry. Perfect emulsification is decided by HLB(hydrophilic lipophilic balance). But used various fat/oil sources(like a tallow, lard, grease, soybean oil, palm oil and so on) have different HLB. Even HLB of fat/oil sources are different, important things are that fat/oil sources can be easily emulsified and digested.

ESS makes this intercellular enzymes out to the cell to be possible to use in degradation. Also a lot of enzymes are attached on the outer cell wall of rumen microbes. Introduction

Pohang Fermented Feed is a corporation produces probiotics as the main product and was founded in the October, 2007 by the CEO Han Seok Ju based on his accumulated technology and experience of running the pig and cow farms for several years. We have produced probiotics by extraction and cultivation of the bacillus for seven years, now we are expanding our coverage to the whole country and are preparing to export to China based on favors from several companies and farm owners.

Fishmeal for fish feed (CP 60%↑)This is the highest quality fishmeal designed for fish feed with by-products of fresh tuna.

Fishmeal with DHA (CP 63%↑)This product is made by processing tuna with low-pressure compression method to maximize the content of DHA and EPA among various fatty acids in fishmeal. This special-purpose fishmeal is intended to produce functional feed with high content of DHA and EPA.

Fishmeal for livestock feed (CP 55%↑)This functional fishmeal is designed to use diverse breeds of livestock.

Paste(SLP) T h i s p a s t e p ro d u c t i s p ro d u c e d b y concentrating fresh ingredients (fish/squid) and by adding unique flavor to improve palability. Since it is possible to mix it with vegetable residues and dry the mixture according to customers’ requests, the products can be used in diverse purposes.



Fish oilThis high-quality fish oil produced from tuna has high content of Omega-3 fatty acid and available for diverse breeds of livestock.

Crab extractBy adding blue crab extract with high betaine content, we improve palability of our products and enhance the growth rate of livetock. Betaine has been widely used as health supplements thanks to its diverse efficacy including improving liver functions, controlling blood pressure, detoxification and enhancing cellular replication.

Water soluble proteinWe add concentrated fish soluble to all our products to improve absorption rate that would reduce the loss of energy and to enhance cellular immunity functions.
