W DISTRICT ART MEETSLIFESTYLE

The latest hangout for Bangkok’s art crowd isundoubtedly the trendy new W District on SukhumvitRoad, close to Soi 69. Art dominates the entire complex, with hundreds of 2D and 3D artworks positionedthroughout.

Hof Art is now based here, providing a large exhibitionspace for the latest paintings and sculptures, and an artresidency for like-minded individuals to come togetherto share ideas.

Beat Hotel is also located here and is now takingbookings under the theme of “stay in the art ofBangkok”. Each area has been given the stamp ofindividuality by leading Thai artists, who have eachbeen designated a room, and here they have decoratedthe walls in their own inimitable way.

As the sun sets W District’s social scene lights up,with an open air dining zone being serviced by dozensof food and drink kiosks. A profusion of wall muralsand sculptures also decorate this area.

Mr.Wichai Poolworaluk, President of WoralukProperty Company, founded the W District project:the new lifestyle mall in downtown Sukhumvit Road, right next to the Phra Khanong BTS station.

He understands the importance of contemporary art invarious fields, and also supports artists who love to becreative.

Consequently, he set up a project for Hof Art tosaturate this downtown area with artwork with the aimto bring in not only art schemes created for artists toshow their work but also calling on the localcommunity to devote a space for the benefit of Thaisociety.
