4. THE FOLLOWING IS AN INTIMATEACCOUNT OF MY FIRST W O AND A HALFMONTHS'VISIT TO OUR COLONIES THERE,meeting those who pioneered them andthe South Americans who now live andwork in them, and who are givingtheir full time to serving God andhelping others. During our travels wemade many new friends from one end ofSouth America to the other and someof them will probably be joining ussoon to become "fishers of men" in therapidly growing Jesus Revolution ofSouth America!5. OURS IS THE ONLY KIND OF REVOLU-

TION THAT CAN TRULY SOLVE THE REALPROBLEMS HERE and that can unite allthe South American peoples, becauseit's a "Revolution for Jesus, for Love'.',in the words of the famous foundingsong of this world-wide "spiritual"revolution which began in Californiain 1968, titled "Cry of Revolution"!It has since solved the problems ofthousands of young people around theworld and they are now living happyand productive lives in our Coloniesin some 60 countries, working, singingand playing, helping and distributingthe Word of God to the people!6. SO COME AND SEE INSIDE SOUTH

AMERICA WITH THE CHILDREN OF GOD, andmaybe you'll want to come and helpthem!

7. I ARRIVED IN RIO AT 8 A.M. AFTERA LONG 10-HOUR FLIGHT FROM ROME—rayplace of "launching" on tfiis new adven-

1. FAITHY ARRIVING IN SOUTH AMERI-CA! First Stop!! Rio de Janeiro,Brazil!!(August 19, 1975)

2. THE WORLD-FAMOUS COPACABANA wasmy home during my stay in Brazil!3. DEAREST FAMILY AND FRIENDS:

Greetings from the beautiful land ofSouth America and from all the LatinChildren of God who live there!—Andfrom the pioneers who have labouredthere now for almost four yearsfounding our youth communities, called ture into the unknown, at least un-Colonies, from one end of this greatcontinent to the other, to show theLove of God to its people by a liv-ing sample of what Jesus taught;loving and sharing, and helpingthose in need! They are offeringto its youth an alternative to drugsand selfish living, violence andhate, racism and social predjudicesof every kind, and replacing meaning-less religions and philosophies withsimple love and faith in God, andsinging boldly "You Gotta be a Babyto go to Heaven"!

known as far as I was concerned! Thiswas my first time to set foot on SouthAmerican soil! I had pioneered commun-ities in every country of WesternEurope, and some in the Mid-East andAfrica, during the past four and a halfyears since I left the U.S. with thefirst team ol Jesus Revolutionaries toEurope. Now, because of a Dream (See"Round, Round Room"), my dream to comeand help our brave pioneers in SouthAmerica had finally come to pass!

8. I WAS A LITTLE TIRED AFTER THELONG FLIGHT, but very excited and

eager to see the Family who weresupposed to be meeting me. (A sort ofa "pick-up and delivery".) Emanuele, our Duke in Italy, had seen to mysafe delivery onto the plane in Rome, and Sam and the Family in Rio hadbeen notified to pick me up becauseof the fact that I was having to makethis journey alone.9. SO I WAS REALLY HAPPY WHEN WE

FINALLY LANDED IN RIO, as I justcouldn't have taken anymore of thathuge blob! I was one of the very firstto dash off of the plane as I justdidn't want to be stuck in the crowd, besides the fact that I was also veryexcited to see if the Family were"there waiting for me. Although I wasone of the first ones off the Jumbo747 (a flying blob!) that was crowdedwith about 300 people or its maximumcapacity, (One of the toilets brokedown and I had to stand in line forhalf an hour to use the only workingone in the crowded economy section.)I was next to last to be checkedthrough immigrations somehow!

10. AS I WALKED FROM THE PLANE TOTHE SOMEWHAT ANTIQUATED AIRPORT, Ilooked up to where all the familieswere standing waiting for their lovedones, in hopes that maybe someone wasthere for me. Sure enough, I saw somehands frantically waving at me andthen I saw Cephas and then Sam andeven Watchman was there—the originalpioneers of South America! What ahappy sight it was, as they were soexcited and waving and happy to seeme, and since my hands were full, allI could do was wave my guitar (Seepicture 1)! At last, here I was inSouth America! Praise God!

11. AN ENGLISHMAN IN FRONT OF ME,when I asked him what the hold-up was, just simply said "This is Brazil"!So I just prayed, as there wasnothing else to do, and finally thedoor opened and we passed throughsmiling brightly at the immigrationsofficer who checked my passport andtaught me to say thank you in Brazil-ian, and he smiled back! Praise theLord! I was through!

12. THEN I RAN RIGHT INTO THISSMILING PORTER who spoke no English,

NO. 57 — GP Page 2

but who let me know that I had to fillout my baggage form (they don't havethese in Europe) before he would loadmy bags on his cart. A very sweetBrazilian girl from my flight helpedme to fill it out as it was all inPortugese, while the porter verypatiently waited for me. Finally, after taking her address in Sao Paulo,I hurried after the porter who nowhad my bags, and we headed to the lastleg of my journey—-the baggage check!

13. MY SMILING PORTER THEN LOADEDTHEM ALL UP AGAIN, and we rolled onout the door, where I could see Samand the boys waiting for me. Theywere so happy to finally see meemerge, and so was II We were joy-fully hugging and kissing (Familystyle!) until I realised the porterwas going with my luggage to thetaxi stand. So one of the boys spoketo him in Portuguese (they all speakit fluently, and so perfectly, itamazed me) and had him deposit theminstead where we could load theminto their car which they hadborrowed from Fernando(the musicproducer who is now our Brother, liv-ing and working in the Family, andproducing our music!)

14. WE WENT STRAIGHT TO THE HOTELthat they had booked where we had along day of conferences, discussionsand prayer with these "pioneers",about the South American Work, whichis "in a state of flux and change",and the reason why they needed usto come at this time to encourageand help them. (See "Japanese-SouthAmerican Dream" NO. 325.)

15. IN THE EVENING OF STILL MY

VIVA SOUTH AMERICA! — Faith David 1-/76 NO. 57 -- GP Page 3

FIRST DAY IN RIO, they took me out toeat at the famous Copa Cabana, or theplace by the sea in Rio (see Picture2), wher,e there are many hotels andrestaurants and a beautiful beach, one of the most beautiful in theworld, I'm sure! We had worked hardall day and so we really enjoyed thischance to get out and see Rio. Wehadn't stopped a minute since I gotoff the plane that morning, so nowwe could relax and enjoy this beauti-ful place and company. Some singingBrazileros even came by our outdoortable, and they played their ukeleleand banjo and sang for us, which mademe feel like I was really in Brazil!

16. THEY ARE SUCH A HAPPY, MUSICALPEOPLE, and most of the time very re-laxed and taking life easy, especial-ly in Rio. With the beautiful palmtrees and white sandy beaches, youbegin to think you are in some kindof paradise. That must be what thefirst pioneers from Portugal musthave felt when they landed in thisplace! No wonder they didn't returnto Portugal, even the Royal Family, who stayed and made their home hereinstead of going back to crowdedEurope! I don't blame them, as thatwas exactly the way I felt on thisbeautifully warm and romantic evening,in this beautiful and romantic land!'.I really fell in love with SouthAmerica!

17. THE NEXT DAY SAM TOOK ME TOMEET FERNANDO, our beloved Brazilianproducer! As you can see we were very

happy to meet each other! And thenwe went together to Polydor to visitthe company which has helped theChildren of God so much in Brazil byproducing their music! They have nowproduced two albums for us of ourBrazilian Family's Portuguese songsand one album for all of South Americain Spanish!

18. GOD BLESS THEM, AND ESPECIALLYANDREA, THE PRESIDENT OF THE WHOLE OFPHONOGRAM, of which Polydor is a part, who had even personally visited ourcolony in Rio and fellowshipped withthe Family there for almost threehours. He, of course, is very inter-ested in young people and thereforehas been a great help to us—hopingthat through our music we can reachthe youth and give them a solution totheir problems and a greater purposefor living, through faith and beliefin God and His Love, which is whatour songs are all about.

19. WHEN HE VISITED FRANCE LASTYEAR, HE- SAW US PERFORMING WITH THEFRENCH SHOW GROUP (See "Inside Show-Biz"), singing and dancing for FrenchTelevision, and he really wasimpressed, he told me, in a briefencounter we had that afternoon withFernando and Sam outside of Phonogram, when we bumped into him in the street!— A very happy meeting not by chance, but certainly by the Lord, as he is

a very busy man and in charge of themost important music and recordproducing company in all of South-America.

20. HE WAS VERY HAPPY THAT I HADCOME TO HELP the Brazilian group andhoped that they would improve intheir presentation through morechoreography and dancing, to whichwe agreed, and which they have nowdone! Praise the Lord! He also toldme that he had left France (he'sFrench!) 20 years ago and come on aone-way ticket to Brazil and justnever left except to visit Francenow and then. He pioneered therecord company business in SouthAmerica, and built from nothing whatis now the biggest and most powerfulmusic producing .company in LatinAmerica!

21. IN OUR SECOND AND MOST RECENTMEETING WITH HIM WHERE WE HAD LUNCHTOGETHER in a very exclusive restau-rant in Rio, we talked for threehours about our work in Brazil andthe future of our music and record-ings and shows. He was very pleasedwhen we told him of the progress wehave been making in Brazil, numberingnow almost 200 young people in about22 colonies throughout Brazil, andthat alot of our success has been dueto the music which he has helped usto produce and distribute in thou-sands of Brazilian homes!

200 young people in about 22Colonies throughout Brazil

-Our Colony in Porto Alegre-

23. I THANKED HIM FOR ALL THECHILDREN OF GOD and told him howpopular the music of the Braziliangroup was with them in all the worldand that MO had highly complimentedit publicly! We discussed bettermeans of distributing it worldwideto our Colonies and 5,000 workersand their families and friends. Hewas very inspired with this idea andsaid he would help us to be able touse our very effective channels toget our music to the world!

24. AFTER DISCUSSIONS OF THE PROB-LEMS OF BRAZILIAN YOUTH with drugs, politics and sex,and the need forus to come out more strongly withour views on these things (particu-larly sex) to the public of Brazilthrough our songs and lit and shows,we ended a very fruitful meeting;his advice a help to us, and ourfellowship and love and concern ahelp to him, we hope! Please prayfor him and us in our new efforts toreach Brazil and its youth, together—and from there reach all of LatinAmerica!!

22. ANDREA ALSO MADE POSSIBLEMANY RADIO AND TV APPEARANCES ANDSHOWS, reaching millions over thepast two years since his companystarted helping us.

Children of God singing inMaracafia Stadium

25. THAT AFTERNOON AFTER OUR VISITAT POLYDOR, the four of us: Sam,Watchman, Cephas and I, drove to SaoPaulo. It's a six-hour trip from Rioto Sao Paulo by car, and on the way,we stopped and ate a real Brazilianmeal at a Churrascaria, with aboutfive different kinds of meat servedon a sword by a waiter who brings ithot from the fire straight to yourplate and slices off as much as youwant with his big knife. It wasreally delicious!

VIVA SOUTH AMERICA! ~ Faith David 1/76 NO. 57 ~ GP Page 5

26. SAO PAULO IS THE NEW YORK CITYOF BRAZIL. It also reminded me ofEssen, Germany--very industrial withabout a ten million population. Thisis where the show team had been liv-ing and pioneering, litnessing anddoing shows to promote the record.

27. THERE WERE ALOT OF TOLLS andwe ran short of Brazilian currency onour way into the city, and so wepayed one toll with a dollar bill!A real miracle! The next one, thetoll booth worker paid our waythrough, and he is now a very goodfriend. So even with the dollars wehad on us, it still took faith!—Ha! Anyway, we finally arrived inthis big city and found our littleColony where we stayed for the nextthree days until going to a farm—outside of Sao Paulo, of course—areally beautiful place for our lead-ership meetings together.

28. A LIVE TV SHOW IN SAO PAULO:During my visit to Sao Paul, I hadthe privilege of seeing the Brazilianshow group in action for a live out-door TV show! Fernando was leadingit and he had already been inter-viewed by the commentator when wearrived on the scene. His testimony

is really an impressive one to theBrazilian show biz world and thegeneral public, because he had beena very successful producer of popularmusic producing many well-knownsingers and their 'hits', as he wasthe most outstanding producer inPolydor. He had even written andsung some hits of his own beforemeeting and joining the Children ofGod.

29. NOW FERNANDO IS SINGING WITHTHE CHILDREN OF GOD, and one of hissongs from their latest album, "AmorNunca Falha" ("Love Never Fails")was number five on the Rio radio andwe hear it playing almost every dayon some radio station in Rio.

30. ALSO, HE'S HAPPILY MARRIED TO

VIVA SOUTH AMERICA! -- Faith David 1/76 NO. 57 — GP Page 6

PALOMA, our beautiful Colombiansister, and they have a beautifullittle baby girl named Tatiana!

31. I WAS REALLY HAPPY TO MEET ALLTHESE BRAVE PIONEERS IN THE SHOWGROUP. Some of them have been inBrazil three years, since Sam andthe first team arrived there tomeet Tiago & Tirshitha, who joinedus in Amsterdam, and were the firstBrazilians to join the Family. Ithink they were also very happy thatI had finally come to Brazil to helpthem. Praise the Lord! And I wastoo!

32. AT THE "SITIO", OR RANCH.—Some very good friends of the Familyin Sao Paulo heard I had arrived andloaned us their Ranch for a few daysfor our leadership meetings, restand relaxation. Here's where Ireally got the "wild, wild West"feeling of Brazil! It really turnedme on after leaving the big qity andreally made me feel like I was inSouth America again, as big citiesare all alike the world over—full ofpollution and noise and endlesstraffic!

33. THE FIRST MORNING AT THESITIO.—We had breakfast togetherunder the thatched roof of a littleoutside tropical porch. It was

cooked by our very sweet Brazilianlady who keeps the house and livesnext door with her family in alittle two-room house—very humble, but seemingly very happy. We wentand watched a TV show with them(which Sam and the kids had pre-recorded) called, "Hallelujah!". Itwas named after their hit song oflast year, which was very popularthroughout all of Brazil, and whichthey have since appeared on regularly.

34. NAHUM, THE PIONEER FROMNORTHERN SOUTH AMERICA, showed upjust in time for our meeting. Every-one was really excited and inspiredby all the new changes being discussedand received new inspiration for thebattle here, thank the Lord'. It wasreally a uniting time. But besideswork, we also had a little fun andrelaxation, but not before reportswere written.

35. HERE I AM TYPING MY REPORTUNDER A BEAUTIFUL TREE OUT AMONGSTGOD'S CREATION.

36. TWO PIONEERS'. Faithy, the

VIVA SOUTH AMERICAI — Faith David

pioneer of Europe, and Sam, whopioneered South America from oneend to the other with his music—onthese beautiful Brazilian "cavalhos"(or horses) belonging to the ranch1.I didn't look very brave, though, later when they were pulling theticks off of me which I receivedfrom my horse that day and whichhad deeply embedded themselves insix different places by the time Idiscovered them and screamed forhelp!

37. I HAD NEVER ENCOUNTERED TICKSBEFORE IN MY LIFE, except on dogsor cats, and was really horrifiedwhen I found them on mel Everybodyreally got a good laugh out of this'brave' pioneer as she ran wildlyaround in her underdress searchingfor ticks and screeching for helpwhenever she discovered another one!Now I knew that I wasn't in Europe'.

38. THE PLACE EVEN HAD A BEAUTIFULSWIMMING POOL. (Above:) Our littleBrazilian 'new bottle', Rebecca, 16years old, who helps take care ofBethel, in a typical Erazilian Tangabathing suit. Bethel is one of the

Children's children and has beenliving in Brazil with her parentsfor two years and can speak withRebecca in Portugese. She sometimesperforms in the show—dancing andsinging! Rebecca is wearing our yokeof love which I gave her, one of thefirst to be seen in Brazil. It wasthe first time some of our SouthAmerican pioneers have gotten in somesun and swimming in a long time, theyhad been so involved in their work.

39. EVEN THIS PIONEER GOT CAUGHTTAKING A LITTLE SUN while writing inher diary out by the pool!

40. AFTER A REAL SOUTH AMERICANDINNER of rice and hot sausages, everyone enjoyed the eveningdancing to our own albums, and itwas really fun. We got to knoweach other better on our last even-ing together before we all would begoing back to our various responsi-bilities to carry on our work!—Andto put into action the 'New Revolu-tion' and changes and plans whichwe had discussed together.

VIVA SOUTH AMERICA! — Faith David 1/76NO. 57 — GP Page 8

41. HERE WE ALL ARE BIDDING THISBEAUTIFUL SITIO GOOD-BYE!

42. AFTER WINDING UP SOME LASTMINUTE BUSINESS IN RIO, WE HAD ANIMPORTANT MEETING WITH JAIRO, theDirector of Productions for Polydor,to discuss upcoming recordings andshows. Once we got to know oneanother and informed him that Sam andI had to make a trip, but would beback in three weeks, we were off onour important mission to Puerto Rico.

there, and telling us that we need-ed to go right away and help them,we at last heeded his call for help!God bless him! He and his musicalteam left the States to go to PuertoRico to open our first Colony ofChildren of God there in 1972, wherethey met Daniel who became the firstof many Puerto Rican young people tojoin the Jesus Revolution there!

43. FAITHY AND SAM ABOARD THEPLANE.44. SAM, WHO BESIDES BEING OUR

PIONEER OF MOST OF SOUTH AMERICA ANDPUERTO RICO, was also one of ourChief Musicians! He had been beg-ging some of us from Europe to comeover and help them in South Americafor over three years. Finally, througha dream which the Lord gave to MOabout South America and our Work

45. DANIEL AND FAITHY. Daniel hadbeen a heroin addict in Puerto Ricofor three years and had been unableto quit. He had tried the MethadonProgram and every other programoffered to him to "kick the habit",but none of these succeeded in help-ing him. He was really desperatelysearching for the answer to his prob-lems and the reason for his existencewhen he met Sam and Nahum and hismusical group.

46. SAM, BEFORE JOINING THE CHIL-DREN OF GOD IN TEXAS WHERE HE ISFROM, had been a Churchboy untilthe age of 14, when he rebelledagainst the hypocrisy he saw! Hebegan to take drugs, too, and was"hooked" until he was 21 years old, which was when he had met thisFamily and found out that Jesuswasn't what he had seen in the hypo-critical Church, but that He wasSomeone who really loved him andcould set him free!

47. SAM HAD REALLY BEEN THROUGHIT, as he had also spent two years

VIVA SOUTH AMERICA! — F a i t h David 1/76 NO. 57 — GP Page 9

in prison when he was 19. He wassuch a rebel that they had to keepmoving him from prison to prison. In all, he was in 11 differentprisons in the two years that hewas confined by the federal authori-ties for stealing a car. Now he isusing his musical talents to helpothers by singing the Love of Godinto their hearts and telling themthe solution is in Jesus'.

48. SO WHEN DANIEL MET SAM andthe others, and heard their songsof happiness and love, he wantedto join them. He figured if itworked for them, it could work forhim too, so he asked Jesus to helphim and to come into his heart andmake him clean like a baby, so hecould live for Him and help others, too!

49. SAM'S FIRST POPULAR SONG WHICHHE WROTE IN THE FAMILY says, "Yougotta be a baby to go to heaven!"They had learned it in Spanish andso could sing it to Daniel in hisown language to really show himthat they loved him! (This song isnow in about 30 language and hashelped the Children of God aroundthe world to express their simplemessage to millions of people andis our International Theme Song.)

50. THAT WAS THREE YEARS AGO, ANDDANIEL HAS BEEN HAPPILY SERVING GODAND OTHERS SINCE and is totally freefrom the need of heroin! Thank God!In fact, he became a part of Sam'smusical group playing his bongoswith them to give their music thereal Latin rythym and even singingand dancing with them—first inPuerto Rico and then throughoutSouth America as he travelled withthem helping them to start newyouth communities.

51. THEIR FIRST STOP WAS CARACAS,VENEZUELA, where they appeared on avery popular TV show which helped tostart the Jesus Revolution in Venez-uela! Then he travelled with Sam andhis team of musical pioneers over-land all the way to Argentina. Itwas a very dangerous, but excitingjourney, via Colombia, Ecuador, Peru

and Bolivia, to help Manases, anArgentinan brother who wanted tostart a Colony in Argentina.

52. MANASES HAD JOINED THE. FAMILYIN LIMA, PERU, where Matt andRuhamah were pioneering—the firstBrave Pioneers of the Jesus Revolu-tion to actually establish a Colonyon the continent of South America. He was a very good musician and hisgroup in Lima had even produced somealbums! But he decided to join theChildren of God in their Revolutionfor Love, and has now written someof the most popular songs of boththe Brazilian and Spanish albums! His hit is called "Allelujah!" andis very popular throughout Braziland now has just been released in hisown country, Argentina, in Spanish!

53. NOW HE IS MARRIED TO BEAUTIFULSAMARA!

54. CROSSING THE AMAZON!—BY PLANE,OF COURSE! The flight from Rio to

VIVA SOUTH AMERICA! — Faith David 1/76 NO. 57 — GP Page 10

Puerto Rico was to take seven hours.About half of that time we were fly-ing over the Amazon Jungle. I couldhardly believe how vast it was—hourafter hour with nothing but a seaof trees below with the only breakin those trees being the Amazon RiverIt really looked huge, even from ourhigh altitude. There was a man onboard who had been down there and hetold us about the mosquitos that cansmother and kill you and other poi-sonous bugs and snakes and Indianarrows! After that, I was really gladI was flying over it and not downthere pioneering or something! Itsounded pretty dangerous!

55. THIS MAN ALSO TOLD US ABOUTTHE WAR GOING ON BETWEEN THE INDIANSAND THE AMERICAN ROAD BUILDERS. TheIndians don't want the Americans inthere taking over their jungle anddestroying their home and sometimesthem, too. So they are fighting backand attacking these modern cowboysof the Amazonas! But the pitifulpart is that these cowboys havemachine guns which they fire at themin answer to their pitiful poisonousarrows, or whatever other weaponsthese poor Indians might have, whichare certainly no match for these big.boys and their guns.

56. SO GOD HELP THESE POOR INDIANSAND PROTECT THEM FROM THESE MURDERERS,We know they are the innocent andthe weak and God is on their side.

Maybe someday some of our bravepioneers will be able to go andhelp them and show them the Love ofGod.

57. OUR FLIGHT WAS DELAYED INCARACAS because of some mix-up orjumble with the Jumbos, and we hadto spend the night there. They offeredto fly us on to Miami, but I certain-ly did not want to set foot in thatMafia-controlled place (God bless youkids who are working there)! So wetook them up on their offer of afree hotel with a swimming pool andfree meals until our flight the nextafternoon.

58. THIS IS WHERE WE MET CARLOS.The four of us were standing waitingto be told what to do and where togo and were exclaiming about howwonderful it was to be able to spendthe night in Caracas with a freehotel with a swimming pool, whileeveryone else was complaining aboutthe situation, which attracted Carlos'attention! He had been on our flightfrom Brazil and was going to go onto Miami, but when he saw how happywe were about staying in Caracas, hedecided to stay, too!

59. HE IS PUERTO RICAN, BUT HADBEEN LIVING TWELVE YEARS IN EUROPEand now had his home in Paris, France. He told us that he had left Europe,"which is like the past and dying",to come back to South America, toBrazil, which seemed more like aland of the future. He was on hisway to Puerto Rico to visit hisparents who were sick, then he wasgoing back to France where he wasworking as a salesman for Jack DanielsBourbon, because so far he had notfound any work over here.

60. WE TOLD HIM HE COULD WORK WITHUS AND PUSH THE HOLY SPIRIT INSTEAD!He was quite disillusioned with lifeand searching for the truth. Beforehe even knew who we were, he ratherexplosively told us that he was onthe verge of becoming either a revo-lutionary or a missionary, so we said"Why don't you join us and becomeboth!—and really help the poor andyouth of Latin America!"

VIVA SOUTH AMERICA! — Faith David 1/76NO. 57 — GP Page 11

61. WATCHMAN AND FAITHY OUTSIDEOF THE CARACAS AIRPORT: "MY, IT'SBEAUTIFUL HERE!"

62. SO PAN AM AIRLINES PUT US UPFOR THE NIGHT in a very nice hoteloutside of Caracas, and right on thebeach with free meals and a beauti-ful swimming pool. God bless them!It turned out that our little groupand Carlos were the only ones whoaccepted their offer and we thorough-ly enjoyed it! It gave us the oppor-tunity to get to know Venezuela andthe Venezuelans a little bit, forwhich we were very thankful.

63. IT'S A VERY BEAUTIFUL COUNTRYwith high mountains meeting the seaand lots of green vegetation every-where. It's quite tropical and theweather is very warm and humid—quite a change from the cold weatherwe had just left in Sao Paulo.

64. OUR LITTLE TEAM OF MUSICIANSAND INSPIRATIONALISTS AND CARLOSDINING AT THE HOTEL!—That evening, after a delicious fish dinner out-doors on this beautiful balmy warmnight, we had a moonlit discussionabout God, love, life and happinesswith Carlos out beside the beautifulCarribbean!

65. WHEN WE RETURNED TO OUR HOTEL,WE FOUND ROLDAN, a 22-year-oldVenezuelan Pan Am representative whohad arranged this wonderful hotel forus, and whom we found to be veryfriendly and concerned about us andour plight there in Caracas. He hadcome to visit us that evening withtwo of his friends, because we hadinvited him to come and said that

we would sing some songs for him, ashe knew that we were a musical group. We got acquainted at the airport whenI noticed how well he handled thepeople who were complaining aboutthe situation, always smiling andfriendly, so I guessed that he was anAquarian and when I asked him, hewas quite surprised and said, "Yes1.How did you know?" I explained thatI had observed his manner in dealingwith the people and thought he mightbe a fellow-Aquarian. It takes oneto know one, I guess! Well, helaughed and was quite relieved "tofind some nice people for a change".

66. HE SPOKE VERY GOOD ENGLISHAND WAS PLANNING TO TRAVEL EUROPE.That evening we sang and talkedtogether beside the pool and we toldhim about our communities and thehappiness we find in living togetherand working for God and helpingpeople. He told us that he wouldlike to do the same thing, so we gavehim the address of our community inCaracas and we hope to see him again,on our next trip to Venezuela, LordWilling, when we will have more timeto discuss these things with him. Wereally fell in love with the Venezue-lan youth through Roldan, who gaveus a little insight into them andtheir needs, and the needs of hiscountry. God bless him!

67. THE NEXT MORNING, after a goodbreakfast and a swim in the pool, wetook .a taxi to the airport and werea little late, as usual, so the planehad to wait for us—the only passen-gers, it seemed, that were beingpicked up in Caracas going to PuertoRico. But we finally made it aboardthe plane, thanks to the Lord andthe patient Pan Am officials.

VIVA SOUTH AMERICA! — Faith David 1/76 NO. 57 -- GP Page 12

68. DURING OUR ONE-HOUR FLIGHT TOPUERTO RICO, I BECAME AWARE THAT IWAS GOING TO BE ENTERING THEUNITED STATES TERRITORY—that PuertoRico was indeed a part of the UnitedStates and that I was travellingaboard an American Airline, whenthey served us our lunch I

69. CARLOS, WHO HAD BECOME PARTOF OUR LITTLE TEAM NOW SINCECARACAS, WAS SITTING BESIDE ME andI was just telling him that Ihadn't been in the United Statesin four and a half years when theAmerican white bread of my firstbite of sandwich stuck to the roofof my mouth! Then I knew that I wason American territory without adoubt. That awful white bread! Ugh!How can those Americans stand it?!Thank God the rest of the world hasmore sense than to produce, muchless eat, bread like that!!

70. AS WE FLEW OVER PUERTO RICO,CARLOS TOLD US ABOUT THIS ISLAND,whose population is three and a halfmillion, and we were so thrilledto have a Puerto Rican with us whocould give us the Puerto Rican viewon things about his homeland, besidesdescribing the beauties of the place.I hadn't realised it was so big andit looked so beautifully green andtropical!

71. BUT I REALISED HOW AMERICANPUERTO RICO REALLY WAS BY THE NUM-BER OF AMERICANS standing in thecustoms line, and hearing them talktheir very American way—mostlydiscussing money, of course. It wasquite humorous to listen to themand realise how much a part of therest of the world j[ felt. I reallyfelt like a foreigner on this firstentry into the United States sincedeparting four and a half years agoto carry the Jesus Revolution toEurope. I had almost forgotten howbad their white bread really was!

72. CARLOS HELPED US FIND ABEAUTIFUL LITTLE GUEST HOUSE RIGHTNEAR HIS HOME IN SAN JUAN, where westayed for a few days while waitingfor Rachel and Emanuele to arrivefrom Europe to help "get things

organised" in Puerto Rico. It waslike being back in Miami, Floridaagain, for me, which was my child-hood home and the closest thing tothis tropical climate that I hadexperienced.—Even with its NewYorkers who were escaping the cold!(It's less than $100.00 to flyNew York-Puerto Rico.)

73. WHAT A WAY TO WITNESS. Ourlittle guest house even had a swim-ming pool and L found a way tocombine business with pleasure as wewitnessed to these young New Yorkerswho were just preparing to leaveagain for New York after a shortvacation in this "paradise". I askedthem if they liked it so much, whythey didn't stay, because originally, they were Puerto Rican anyway, andthis is their home, and it's sure alotbetter than New York City!

74. FRANKLY, AFTER VISITING PUERTORICO, I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY ALLTHOSE POOR PUERTO RICANS LIVING INTHE SLUMS OF NEW YORK CITY, DIDN'TALL MOVE BACK to Puerto Rico anddeclare their independence to escapethat hell on earth, which I saw thePuerto Ricans suffering when I was inNew York City! Anyway, these youngpeople laughed and said they likedthe big-city life! So they went backto New York, God help them! Butperhaps they'll find our Familythere and join the Jesus Revolutionand help their people who have tolive in that hell! We hope and prayso!

75. WE VISITED CARLOS IN HISSANTURCE HOME. Carlos' parents had abeautiful apartment right near ourguest house where he had come tolive with them and take care of thembecause of sickness. He invited usto their home and we even had thewonderful opportunity to drink thefamous national drink, Pifia Colada(made with world-famous Puerto RicanRum), but it was a little too strongfor me'.

76. WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO PRAY FORHIS MOTHER WHO WAS VERY ILL WITHPNEUMONIA and in bed, that God wouldheal her and give her new strength.Within 48 hours, Carlos later toldme, she was out of bed and on herfeet completely healed! Hallelujah!God did a real miracle for her, butalso it showed Carlos that God reallydoes care, and from that time on, hebecame a believer! Hallelujah!

77. FAITHY AND THE PUERTO RICANDUNE BUGGY! We went to visit Carloson his last evening in Puerto Ricobefore he returned to France, and theonly mode of transportation availablewas this "fancy" dune buggy. Aftera very good and profitable visitwith our dear brother about his help-ing our community help the youngpeople in Puerto Rico, and possiblygiving up his present job in Franceto return here to do so—we bade him

farewell and drove home in our buggyonly to be caught in one of theworst tropical down-pours of theyear! But the Lord got us home safely.

78. OUR FAMILY IN PUERTO RICO'.FAITHY WITH EBED AND LEAH, THE WESTINDIES PIONEERS. After Rachel andEmanuele'.s arrival, we had a real"Shake-Up" and things really beganto move and get organised. ThePuerto Rican Blob was soon broken upand many people went to South Ameri-ca where they were needed to help

in the "New Revolution", and furtherthe expansion of our communitiesthere! Everyone was really happy forall the changes and new organisation!Praise the Lord!

79. FAMILY REUNION, CELEBRATION,EXHORTATION AND FAREWELL'. Afterspending nearly three weeks in PuertoRico getting to know it and ourFamily there and helping Racheland Emanuele, the time for my depar-

ture was almost at hand, and alsoSam, as we were needed in Brazilia, the capital of Brazil, for a veryimportant show.

80. SO ALL THE CHILDREN OF GODON THE ISLAND GATHERED for a reunion, celebraLion, exhortation and a fare-well for Sam and I and Rachel andEmanuele.—Also, Cephas, who wasgoing to scout out a new home forour Latin American Office, andWatchman, who was going North toMexico aftar visiting and inspiringour Colonies in Northern SouthAmerica and Central America on hisway.

81. WATCHMAN HAD HELPED TO ESTAB-LISH OUR FIRST COLONIES IN MEXICOAND CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, PERU,CHILE AND ARGENTINA. Before joiningthe Family, he had hitchhiked allover the United States as a hipp'eand doper, searching for the truchand a new way to live free fromthe materialism that he had beenraised in, being brought up as alittle rich boy and having every-thing he wanted. So he took to theroad and ran away from home at theage of 15.

82. FINALLY, HE MET THE CHILDRENOF GOD IN TUCSON, ARIZONA, shortlyafter the Jesus Revolution hadbegun there, and he joined them, forsaking his drugs for Jesus andturning others on to his new way oflite. When he was a child, Watchmanhad lived in Mexico with his parentsand had learned Spanish. So whensome of us were going to Europeto establish Colonies there, he andothers went to Mexico to begin ourfirst Latin communities. Now hewill be returning to help establishthe New Revolution for Jesus in ourColonies there, and to organise amusical group to reach Mexico, GodWilling.

83. SO WE WERE ALL BIDDING OURPRECIOUS PUERTO RICAN FAMILY FARE-WELL, at least for now, leavingthe job to them to reach theirpeople while we go on to otherplaces that need our help. At theCelebration of. the ending of the

Old Revolution and the beginning ofthe New one—we laughed, we danced.

we sang, we praised, we criedtogether, and united our hearts with•a new dedication for our new mission.

84. SAM AND WATCHMAN LED US INSINGING BEAUTIFUL SPANISH SONGS, MANYWRITTEN BY THEM, and gave testimoniesof what God was doing through HisChildren in the South. Then Rachel

and Eraanuele shared with all thevision*of the New Revolution andnew things to come!—And that theywould now have a closer tie with theirFamily in Europe!—And that therewould be an exchange of people be-tween Europe and South America tokeep our "blood flowing'.1 and ourvision fresh with new faces andplaces.

85. WE SANG SOME PSALMS AND THENWE SHARED SOME ARABIC SONGS ANDSTORIES OF OUR BROTHERS IN THE SOUTH-

EAST̂ and how they too are beingturned on by the Love of God throughHis Children. We also challenged themto go into all the world to reachevery person with the Good News, being willing even to lay down ourlives for our brothers, as Jesus said,"Greater love hath no man than thisthan a man lay down his life for hisfriends," and this is what we need to

do—denying ourselves in taking uppur cross daily and sacrificing tohelp others. We then sang "Let MeLive Just One More Day in Serviceto the King", one of the foundingsongs of our Revolution, now recordedin France on the B-side of our300,000 selling hit record "Liberty".

86. SO WE HAD A WONDERFUL DAY TO-GETHER, and into the night, out underthe beautiful stars and tropical sky, with finally 100 Children of Godsinging the Lord's prayer with renewedfaith, vision, courage and most ofall love to reach all of the Worldwith the Love of Jesus 'till He comesback! Hallelujah! We hope you're withus, too! We love you! Love, Faithy
