The trust works with an extensive network of over 400 third-party teaching and examination centres, known as Approved Programme Providers, in over 50 countries around the world who offer one or more of their qualifica- tions. These external Providers are rigorously checked to ensure that they deliver the high standard of teaching required to enable students to pass their WSET qualification. Figures released today by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) show that worldwide student num- bers for the Academic Year 2012/13, just finished, stand at an all-time high of 48,434, up 12% on the previous year. The WSET® Level 1 Award in Wine Service This qualification builds on the knowledge and skills taught in the Level 1 Award in Wines, and shows how these can be used in a restaurant workplace. It is ideal for anyone who needs to gain basic skills in wine service, including those wishing to make their first steps into a career as a sommelier.
The Old Vine Festival in Maribor is the main event in the cycle of events From Vine to Wine, from pruning to St Martin’s Day celebrations, which we prepare in the honour of the Old Vine, the oldest vine in the world. The Old Vine is Maribor’s greatest ethnographic sight, which symbolises the rich wine culture of Maribor and Štajerska region.
The theoretical part will be strongly supported with practical wine tasting, food and wine pairing and the field trips in Slovenia and Austrian wine region.
Robert Gorjak, a lecturer with international experiences is going to offer up-to-date and competent knowledge.
Once you obtain the Level 1 Award in Wines you can apply to use the certified logo.
