Dear Fathers, Brothers and Sisters!
Eternal Rest grant unto them O Lord!
Let perpetual light shine upon them.
This is the prayer and spirit that will animate us during
the month of November. The entire Church urged by Faith,
Hope and Charity to come to the assistance of our departed
souls. May they enjoy God’s presence.
First of all let us remember our two priests who passed
away recently. Fr. N. A. John Peter and Fr. M. Sebastian .
May their souls rest in peace. It is indeed a great loss to
the Church at Vellore at the same time we are consoled
that they will pray and assist us from heaven. Let us also
remember the mothers of two of our priests Fr. Chinnappan
and Fr. Arulappan. It is an agony to lose a mother but we
need to accept it as God’s merciful love. We shall,
throughout this month remember all our bishops, priests,
religious and our faithful who have departed from this

world. We are participating and sharing in their faith. Let
the communion of saints become a reality.
My visit abroad during the month of October went very
well. I was able to meet all our priests in US and Europe.
They are all doing very well. They are accepted well both
by their bishop and people. It was really a consoling visit. I
was able to meet Fr. Paul Bosco, Fr. A.C. John Peter, Fr.
Antony, Fr. Amalanathan, and Fr. Peterraj. Then I went
to meet Fr. Johnpeter in California and celebrated three
Masses and from there went to Los Angeles to meet his
brother Fr. Albert,osm., and Fr. Ernest,sdb. From there
we flew to Germany and met Fr. Sagayanathan and Fr.
Lawrence. We had celebrated two masses. The Parish
Priest was very kind and took us to Cologne, Cathedral.
From there we went to Paris. Our brothers had arranged
the accommodation at MEP house. They had received us
well. We stayed there two nights. The MEP fathers were
very generous and they did not charge anything. The two
brothers who are doing their theology Bro. Arun and Bro.
Rajkumar arranged well. From Paris we went to Lourdes.
That was the main purpose of my journey. We were
fortunate to celebrate the Eucharist in the Grotto itself. I
prayed for the entire diocese.
From Lourdes we went to the Seminary in Metz which is
in France. Our two brothers Bro. Jerald and Bro. Guna
received us with joy. The Rector Fr. Chavez was extremely
warm, kind and generous. All our four brothers are doing
extremely well. They have learned French well.

From there I went to Germany to the old place of Fr.
Lawrence. The parish council received us warmly and
promised to continue to help. We stayed there for three
hours, after which I went to Fr. Jacob’s Parish. There too
the parish priests and people were very happy. Fr. Martin,
Fr. Ramesh, Fr. Vinoth and Fr. Christuraj were there. We
had a meaningful Eucharistic Celebration in the parish.
Finally, I went to the parish of Fr. Paul Arasu which is in
the diocese of Linz in Austria. Again the parish priest
received us joyfully and hosted a Lunch. That evening we
had a Mass at Fr. Paul Arasu’s place. The people were
very happy to receive us. The next day we went to Vienna
and flew back. The arrangement was made by Mrs. Maria,
a senior lady a friend of Fr. Paul Arasu. She herself drove
for about two hours. Then I flew back to India.
The visit was very well arranged. Wherever we went, people
were unanimously asking our priests to be left there. They
are really seeing new life in their parishes. Let us thank
God for these wounderful opportunities.
We are preparing ourselves to go on a pilgrimage to St.
Francis Xavier at Goa. Let us pray this will enliven our
missionary zeal. Let us accompany them with prayer.
Our Holy Father Francis had given us a year of Mercy. We
have had several functions to be part of this event. Now it
will come to a conclusion on 20 November 2016, the feast
of Christ the King. Let us thank the Lord for this gift and
enjoy the mercy of God.

May our Blessed Mother continue to be with us. May the
souls of the departed rest in peace!

Recollection, in view of the Year of Mercy the diocese as
rearranged a pilgrimage to Goa.

2. New Telephone Directory – 2017
New Telephone Directory for the year 2017 will be
published by the Clergy Commission. Please check your
phone Number, Name of your Parish, Institution, your
personal Mobile Number and your personal Email ID in
the present Telephone Directory – 2016. If anything is to
be corrected or added please do inform the Bishop’s
Secretary,( especially if your Land Line phone is not inuse kindly inform it will be deleted) before end of
November 2016 and help us to bring out the new Telephone
Directory – 2017 in time. (Secretary Cell No: 9486424003)
3. Christmas Celebration for the religious – 10 December2016
The Christmas celebration for all the religious Fathers,
Brothers and Sisters will be at Don Bosco, Gandhi Nagar,Katpadi, Vellore on Satuarday, 10 December 2016 at 10a.m. His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. P. Soundararaju, sdb.,
will preside over the celebration. You can take this
opportunity to wish our Bishop and Curia fathers.
