After many, many years, it was decided by the board that the CFCC Logo was in need of a bit of “updating”. BJ Neff came up with several iterations and brought them to the mem-bers for a vote. What you see has now been adopted as the new “official” CFCC logo. “OLD LOGO” “NEW LOGO” As can be seen, a lot of the heritage of the old logo was used in the new logo, but given a fresh, updated, sharper look. The center bar which had the redundant “CfCC” in script lettering, has been replaced with “Founded 1955” as a tribute to our heritage and lon-gevity as a club. No New Members this month

Why not bring a friend and introduce them to Central Florida Coin Club ?

Hope to see all of you on the 13th. Happy Collecting! Dan Aidif

Each month, we will post photos of a coin that has some type of “problem”. The answer will be given in the following months Numis-Notes!

This Months Mystery-

For this month we have a 1999-P Roosevelt dime that seems to have part of the reverse on the obverse and part of the obverse on the reverse. Is this a mint error?

Last month we looked at a 1918(P) Lincoln cent that appears to have a very large die crack on the reverse. But, was it a die crack? The answer was “No”. The substance on the reverse of the coin is actually solder, colored to look like copper. Another small area of solder can be seen un-der the ER of LIBERTY. This is not a mint error and the coin was manipulated outside the mint.

10/9- LMAD- Cliff Bedingfield was a no-show, but Easter Hancock was there-Chose envelope # 2, sold contents for $20-an educational certificate! Educational Award- Alberto Dupaiva & Jason Lowery did not answer when their names were called, so Linda Durrance went home with an educational certificate. Membership-Warren Kaplan, Doug Hill & Gerry Russell were not there, so Tom Palmer took home the silver dollar. 10/23-LMAD- Bob Russell pulled his own name out of the hopper-Picked envelope # 4, sold for $25- 2 Peso Gold. Educational Award-Mike Barton, James Partin, Sid Porter were not there, so CL Wyatt get to buy $20 in numismatic reading material! Membership- Lee Vinci was not in attendance, so Steve Lauer was the recipient of the mem-bership award-a Silver Dollar. Folks, you have to be there to win!

[If you notice we had to expand this section due to the number of “NO SHOWS” at the meetings! Do your part to help out the newsletter publisher-come to the meetings and claim your prizes!]

Please remember to bring you NEW and UNWRAPPED toy for our Central Florida Coin Clubs “Toys For Tots drive”, either to the November meeting at Marks Street or to the Holiday Party at the VFW Post. We can have them in hand not later than our holi-day dinner (December 11). I will be delivering the Toys to the Navy Federal Credit Un-ion on December 12. It is the designated pick-up point for the Marines. REMEMBER- we are teaming up with Casselberry Coin Club-Even if you are not a member of the Casselberry Coin Club you can bring you can goods donation with the Toys For Tots donation and I will see they get to CCC. Please be generous, a can of food and/or a small toy is NOT a major expense, and there are many more who are less fortunate than us.

An important notice concerning FUN Public Registration booth and the CFCC volunteers. The following changes have been voted on and instituted by the FUN board of direc-tors concerning the CFCC volunteers used at Public Registration booth. 1. A parking allowance of $9.00 will be given upon receipt of a valid OCCC parking ticket issued for that day. 2. A meal allowance will be given to volunteers who work the full day at the Public Reg-istration booth. This comprises working two shifts, morning and afternoon (8:45 AM to 6:00 PM on the same day) 3. One (1) fifteen minute break is allowed per shift. 4. The giving of a silver eagle to volunteers at the FUN Public Registration booth has been discontinued. There will be no gratuities given for any amount of volunteer ser-vice. Since there has been a policy change to what is to be given the CFCC volunteers who staff the FUN Public Registration booth, I have rescinded the initial volunteer signup sheet and provided new signup sheets for your consideration. If you do want to volunteer for staffing of the Public Registration booth and cannot make the next two meetings (November 13th, 2013 and December 11th, 2013) to fill in the signup sheets, please contact me at 386-837-2215 or through [email protected] Thank you, BJ Neff

First I want to extend a very much appreciated "THANK YOU" to the volunteers who filled the seats at the front desk of the coin show. The club had 13 volunteers for the 24 open time slots. Those volunteers were: Bob Wollnik, who, as always, was there the full three days. Steve Valis Don Knapp Helen Knapp Jim Hancock (2 days) Bob Cole Augie Valente Public attendance was down about 2% from last September's show and the public was not buying much in the way of raffle tickets. The volunteers sold 212 tickets bring in $204.00 fro the club coffers. From our tub filled with 2 x 2 envelopes two people found the silver prizes (one remains) and there were two gold prizes given out because an undetected envelope from the April show was still in the tub when the new one was added. Bob Russell We gave out 6 door prizes during the three day show which were five BU Roosevelt silver dimes and one proof Washington silver quarter.

CFCC had its annual club picnic on Sunday, October 27th at Derby Park in Sanford. The weather was absolutely beautiful creating the perfect situation to gather outdoors and roast meat! Those members that attended had the opportunity to sit and visit with each other as we waited for our club's own Keith Gandy to work his magic on the grill. As usual Keith and his crew did a fabulous job preparing our steaks, salmon and chicken just the way each of our club members wanted it. Now, we did have a bit of a hiccup this time around ... our white potatoes (which were the size of a small child's head) didn't want to cooperate and took a bit longer to cook than expected; but we managed to make do with the sweet po-tatoes that were available as well as all the other side dishes that were offered. I believe that each of us that attended when home well satisfied. We played some games and the winners when home with their prizes. Personally I can't wait for our picnic next year be-cause it is truly my favorite club event. If you didn't attend ... you missed something special. Donna

It is our goal to have one meeting per month, where a guest speaker (read-a member of the club) gives a short 20 minute presentation on a topic of their choosing-Numismatic related, of course.

We are always looking for volunteers to share their knowledge with the members- The presentation doesn’t need to be “show quality”, just get up and tell us what you know!
