Dear Members & College Football Friends:

The National Football Foundation experienced another exceptionally successful year in implementingour efforts of Building Leaders Through Football, culminating with another sold-out crowd gathering inthe Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria in New York City on Dec. 9, 2014 for the 57th NFF AnnualAwards Dinner. For the eighth consecutive year, we expanded into the adjacent room to accommodatethe overflow demand to be part of this marquee event, and the honorees continue to represent a longlist of our country’s finest leaders who have taken our national stage. What follows is a photo collection of those honored and those who paid tribute to the honorees by

attending the event that night, as well as photos from several other National Football Foundation-related events surrounding the 2014 football season. The Gold Medal

2014 NFF Gold Medal co-recipients NFF Vice Chairman George Weiss and globalhumanitarian Dr. Tom Catena display their awards.

Established in 1958, The Gold Medal, The National Football Foundation & Col-lege Hall of Fame's highest honor, recognizes outstanding individuals with un-blemished reputations who have contributed significantly to the sport of collegefootball and the welfare of our country. Global humanitarian Dr. Tom Catena andNFF Vice Chairman George Weiss became the 60th and 61st recipients of theNFF Gold Medal on Dec. 9, 2014. Catena, a former All-American nose guard atBrown University, established the Mother of Mercy Hospital in the Nuba Moun-tain region of Sudan along with Bishop Macram Gassis. As medical director andsole physician, Catena refused to evacuate during a severe malaria outbreak,stating that as the only doctor in the only hospital in the region, he could notleave in good conscience. During Weiss’ 45 years with the NFF, he has helpednegotiate the location of all of the sites of the College Football Hall of Fame andhas been a key part of many of the organization’s premier initiatives. Catenaand Weiss join a prestigious list of honorees that includes:

• Seven U.S. Presidents• Four U.S. Generals• Three U.S. Admirals• 28 Corporate CEOs and Chairmen• One U.S. Supreme Court Justice• Jackie Robinson, John Glenn, John Wayne and many others.

Launched in 1959 and celebrating its 56th class of honorees, the NFF Scholar-Athlete Awards, presented by Fidelity Investments, have awarded $10.7 millionto 804 top scholars and community leaders. Each scholar-athlete receives an$18,000 postgraduate scholarship, and the William V. Campbell Trophy, pre-sented by Fidelity Investments and hosted at the NYAC, recognizes one memberof the class as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the country and increases the winner’s scholarship to $25,000. Duke Academic All-American andAll-ACC linebacker David Helton claimed the 25th Campbell Trophy in 2014. Can-didates for an NFF National Scholar-Athlete Award and the Campbell Trophymust:

• Be a senior or graduate student in their final year of eligibility;• Possess a GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale;• Enjoy outstanding football ability as a first team player; and• Demonstrate strong leadership and citizenship.

The“father of aerobics” and internationally renowned pioneer of preventive medicine, Dr. Cooper washonored Jan. 8 at the Omni Dallas Hotel as the kickoff event for the College Football Playoff (CFP)National Championship weekend. Dr. Cooper’s induction marks the launch of a new tradition, andeach year the NFF will stage an NFF Leadership Hall of Fame event in the host city of the title game.
