Quote of the Week

Top Editor: I have someone’s scrapbook Normally, in this space, I take

the time to write letters to my-

self and answer them, thus ce-

menting my status as the cam-

pus loony.

However, today I bring forth

something that I in fact did

NOT make up, and something

that I’m abusing my powers as

Top Editor to get the word out

there about.

Whilst browsing the Chris-

tians in Action thrift store ear-

lier this year, no doubt looking

for a Foghat 8-track tape or a

Douglas Adams novel, I hap-

pened upon a senior year scrap-

book that belonged to someone

named Tiffany Shannon Brink.

I have no idea who Miss

Brink is. From what I could

gather from her scrapbook, the

lass graduated high school in

2006. Even more perplexing is

that she graduated from a high

school in southern Illinois.

Naturally, my inquisitive

nature wondered how this

scrapbook made it to San An-

gelo.

There is no doubt that this

scrapbook was dropped off at

Christians in Action by acci-

dent—there’s no way you’d

throw away something like

that! But how did this item

get from a small town in

southern Illinois to San An-

gelo, Texas?

So my first thought was

that perhaps Miss Brink was

in the military, and she had

been stationed locally at

Goodfellow AFB for an un-

specified amount of time. I

don’t know if this is the case

or not.

I also considered the pos-

sibility that somehow she

heard about our fine school

(Angelo State University),

and decided to pursue

higher education here deep

in the Pancreas of Texas.

Either way, it would explain

how her scrapbook ended

up down here.

Anyway, I ended up shell-

ing out a couple of bucks for

this scrapbook, and my in-

tention is to return it to

Miss Brink, wherever she

may be.

I’ve already tried Face-

book. There are like twenty

billion people named Tif-

fany Brink on that website,

and none of them were from

southern Ill inois. And

MySpace was equally unhelp-

ful, but who on earth uses

MySpace anymore?

Plus, there’s the possibility

that she got married or some-

thing and changed her sur-

name. Hmm.

Then I remembered that I

was the Top Editor of the

Ramdiculous Page! Our read-

ership is pretty high—perhaps

someone at Angelo State

knows Tiffany Brink! Or

maybe Miss Brink is even a

reader! The possibilities are

endless!

So here’s my overall state-

ment: Tiffany S. Brink, from

Carmi, Illinois, I have your

senior year scrapbook. Quite

frankly, I don’t want it.

But I figure you’d want it. It

has your senior year memo-

ries, after all. So if you’re out

there, please write to us at

[email protected], and I

will gladly return it.

the incredible question

Ram of the Week: Rachel Wood Meet Rachel Wood. She likes animals and animal rights. She seems like a pretty humble person, actually. We sent her a message over

the Facebook wires, asking her what she’d like us to write about her. She re-sponded with a simple (and I’m paraphrasing), “I’m not that interesting.”

Really, all we got out of her was that she’s in school, and that she goes to work. That’s it. I could write something about her fighting space zombies, but we all know that’s just me being silly.

Anyway, she also wanted us to write about animal rights. All I really know about animal issues comes from The Price is Right, wherein Drew Carey (like Bob Barker before him) urges viewers to have their pets spayed and neutered, to reduce the pet population and whatnot. Sound advice, methinks.

Movie Times from yesterday

Space Jam (1996) By Thomas Nast

True story: I was in fifth

grade back when this movie

came out. I had a crush on

some chick named Patricia,

and the ENTIRE playground

knew it.

So imagine my shock when

I asked her to go see Space Jam with me, and she shook her

head no.

It wasn’t until years later

that I realized that ten year

olds usually don’t ask other

ten year olds to movies. Least

of all movies starring Michael

Jordan and Bugs Bunny.

Heh, I just remembered that

I still have the soundtrack to

this movie. I swear, it’s like

the best soundtrack of the 90s.

WAY better than the sound-

track to The Bodyguard. My

Space Jam CD has to be at least

thirteen years old now, and it

STILL plays in my car.

As for the movie itself? Bugs

Bunny playing basketball with

Michael Jordan, based off of

some sneaker commercials

from the early 90s. Not bad.

Man, I miss the 90s.

Thomas Nast is the Ramdicu-

lous Page’s movie critic this week. We honestly don’t know why we let him do it.
