I, ROBERT GOTT, Director (Marine Resources), acting pursuant to Rule 13 of the Fisheries (Commercial Dive Rules) 2011, and delegated authority under Section 20(1) of the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 hereby:

1. determine that on and from the 1st September 2013 that the minimum size limit for the species Heliocidaris erythrogramma is 60 mm;

2. determine that on and from the 1st September 2013 that the minimum size limit for molluscs of the Genus Turbo is 45 mm;

where the size of Heliocidaris erythrogramma is measured as the maximum diameter of the test (inside spines) of an individual Heliocidaris erythrogramma; and,

where the size of molluscs of the Genus Turbo is measured as the maximum shell width of an individual mollusc.

PUBLIC NOTICE: Dates Of Closing of the Commercial Blacklip Abalone Fishery in State Waters around the Furneaux

Group of Islands

I, ROBERT GOTT, Director (Marine Resources), acting under Rule 9 of the Fisheries (Abalone) Rules 2009, and delegated authority under Section 20(1) of the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995, hereby determine that the dates of the closed season for the commercial abalone fishery for the taking of blacklip abalone (Haliotis rubra) for commercial purpose from State waters around the Furneaux Group of islands are as follows:-

- from 19 August 2013 to 31 December 2013, inclusive;

where “State waters around the Furneaux Group of islands” is defined to mean:- those State waters within an area bounded in the east by the line of longitude at 148° 35’ 36.2” East, and bounded in the west by an imaginary line commencing at the point latitude 40° 38’ 4.33” South and longitude 148° 17’ 8.28” East then running generally north to the point latitude 40° 29’ 3.91” South and longitude 148° 16’ 58.10” East then running generally east to Passage Point then following the line of high water generally east and north to Puncheon Point then running generally north to Pot Boil Point and then following the line of high water generally north to the line of latitude 39° 45’ 24.84” South, and bounded in the north by the line of latitude at 39° 45’ 24.84” South, and bounded in the south by the line of latitude at 40º 38' 4.33" South.

INFORMATIONThe commercial blacklip abalone fishery in State waters on the eastern side of the Furneaux Group of islands is being closed from 19 August 2013 until 31 December 2013 as part of arrangements to control the total amount of blacklip abalone harvested in this area in the interest of resource sustainability. PUBLIC NOTICE – Setting of Total Allowable Catch (TAC), determining the parts and portions from which the TAC is to

be taken for the commercial shellfish fishery.

I, BRYAN GREEN, the Minister administering the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995, pursuant to section 94 of that Act and to the Fisheries (Shellfish) Rules 2007, Rule 7, hereby for the 2013/2014 quota period of the commercial shellfish fishery commencing 1 September 2013 and finishing 31 August 2014 inclusive:

1. Set the total allowable catch for the commercial shellfish fishery as: 53,740 kilograms of Venerupis clams; 13,200 kilograms of Katelysia cockles; and 39,800 dozen native oysters; and,

2. Determine that the parts of the commercial shellfish fishery from which the total allowable catch is to be taken are: the Georges Bay South Clam Zone; Georges Bay North Clam Zone; Ansons Bay Cockle Zone; and Georges Bay; and,

3. Determine that the portion of total allowable catch to

be taken from each part of the commercial shellfish fishery is as follows:

Georges Bay South Clam Zone – 0 kilograms of Venerupis clams;

Georges Bay North Clam Zone – 53,740 kilograms of Venerupis clams;

Ansons Bay Cockle Zone – 13,200 kilograms of Katelysia cockles; and,

Georges Bay – 39,800 dozen native oysters.

Words and expressions used in this Public Notice have the same meaning as they have in the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 and the Fisheries (Shellfish) Rules 2007.

I, ROBERT GOTT, Director (Marine Resources), acting under Rule 14 of the Fisheries (Commercial Dive Rules) 2011 and delegated authority under Section 20(1) of the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 hereby determine:

that the maximum live weight of Heliocidaris erythrogramma which may be taken in the period from 1 September in any year to 31 August in the following year from the Commercial Dive Fishery is 166 tonnes;

that the parts of the Commercial Dive Fishery from which the maximum live weight of Heliocidaris erythrogramma may be taken are:

I) South-eastern Sea Urchin Part of the Fishery being that area of State waters on the south and east coast of Tasmania bounded on the north by the line of longitude 148º 00’ 00”E and on the south by the line of longitude 146º 52’ 15”E (from the southern tip of Tasman Island to Whale Head. This includes Maingon and Norfolk Bays);

II) Central-eastern Sea Urchin Part of the Fishery being that area of State waters on the east coast of Tasmania bounded on the north by the line of latitude 42º 20’ 40”S and on the south by the line of longitude 148º 00’ 00”E (from the southern point of Cape Sonnerat to the southern tip of Tasman Island. This includes all waters on the east coast of the Tasman and Forestier Peninsulas and Blackman Bay);

III) North-eastern Sea Urchin Part of the Fishery being that area of State waters on the east coast bounded by the line of latitude 42º 20’ 40”S in the south and extending north to the line of latitude 41º 00’ 26”S (from the southern point of Cape Sonnerat to Red Rocks);

IV) Northern Sea Urchin Part of the Fishery being that area of State waters in the north bounded by the line of latitude 41º 00’ 26”S in the east and moving anti clockwise around the north coast to the line of latitude 40º 40’ 40”S in the west (from from Red Rocks west to Woolnorth – Cape Grim); and

V) Western Sea Urchin Part of the Fishery being that area of State waters along the west coast of the State bounded in the north by the line of latitude 40º 40’40”S and in the south by the line of longitude 146º 52’ 15”E (Cape Grim to Whale Head);

that the maximum live weight of Heliocidaris erythrogramma which may be taken from each part of the Commercial Dive Fishery is:

I. South-eastern Sea Urchin Part of the Fishery – 44 tonnes;

II. Central-eastern Sea Urchin Part of the Fishery – 39 tonnes;

III. North-eastern Sea Urchin Part of the Fishery – 43 tonnes;

IV. Northern Sea Urchin Part of the Fishery – 30 tonnes; and,

V. Western Sea Urchin Part of the Fishery – 10 tonnes;

that the maximum live weight of Periwinkles (molluscs of the Genus Turbo) which may be taken in the period from 1 September in any year to 31 August in the following year from the Commercial Dive Fishery is 52.8 tonnes;

that the parts of the Commercial Dive Fishery from which the maximum live weight of Periwinkles may be taken are:

I) South Eastern Periwinkles Part of the Fishery being that area of State waters on the east coast of Tasmania bounded on the north by the line of longitude 148º 00’ 00”E and on the south by the line of longitude 146º 52’ 15”E (from the southern tip of Tasman Island to Whale Head. This includes Maingon and Norfolk Bays);

II) Central-eastern Periwinkles Part of the Fishery being that area of State waters on the east coast of Tasmania bounded on the north by the line of latitude 42º 20’ 40”S and on the south by the line of longitude 148º 00’ 00”E (from the south southern point of Cape Sonnerat to the southern tip of Tasman Island. V) Western Periwinkles Part of the Fishery being that area of State waters along the west coast of the State bounded in the north by the line of latitude 40º 40’ 40”S and in the south by the line of longitude 146º 52’ 15”E (Cape Grim to Whale Head);

that the maximum live weight of Periwinkles which may be taken from each part of the Commercial Dive Fishery is:

I. Central-eastern Periwinkles Part of the Fishery and South Eastern Periwinkles Part of the Fishery combined - 17.6 tonnes;

II. North-eastern Periwinkles Part of the Fishery – 17.6 tonnes;

III. Northern Periwinkles Part of the Fishery – 7.6 tonnes; and,

IV. Western Periwinkles Part of the Fishery – 10 tonnes.
