A Blood Donation Camp was organised in memory ofour Late Chairman Shri Hari Shankar Ji Singhaia atJKLU on June 20, 2016.

JKLU celebrated the International Yoga Day on June21, 2016 in the campus. Faculty members, staff andtheir families and students participated in thecelebration.

Students were oriented about Yi Yuva by theChairperson Sankalp Kasliwal and Secretary AnkitBordia on July 27, 2016. It is a youth leadershipdevelopment initiative of Young Indian, under theaegis of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) withthe objective of developing leadership among thestudents and make them industry savvy.

An expert lecture on "Making the Most of AcademicLife in Engineering Stream" was delivered by Prof S KKoul, Dy Director, Strategy & Planning, IIT Delhi onAugust 20, 2016.

An expert lecture on "Exploring Newer Opportunitiesin Management Education" by Mr. Bijay Sahoo, GroupPresident – HR, Petroleum Refining & Marketing,Petrochemicals, Consumer Businesses, Telecom &Media Businesses of Reliance Industries Limited(Reliance Industries, Jio Infocomm, Payment Bank,Retail, Media and E-commerce) was organized onAugust 20, 2016.

An interactive session by Dr Asha Bhandarkar, Dean-International Relations & Professor - IMI, New Delhiwas organized on the topic "How to Develop KeyCompetencies in Budding Professionals”

JK Lakshmipat University organized Parichay-2016(Fresher's Eve) on August 19, 2016. The day marks themingling of newcomers with senior batch studentsthrough a grand welcome, fashion show, talent huntand freshers'competition.

C e n t r e o f I n n o v a t i o n , I n c u b a t i o n a n dEntrepreneurship (CIIE), JKLU organised a workshopon “Youth Empowerment and Skills Development” bythe Art of Living (also known as YES PLUS programmeof Art of Living) during July 29-31, 2016.

A workshop on “Android App Development” was held atInstitute of Engineering & Technology, JK LakshmipatUniversity, Jaipur. The workshop was jointly organized byRoxent Technologies Ltd. Delhi and JK LakshmipatUniversity Jaipur. Students took part in the workshop withfull enthusiasm.

International School of Informatics and Management(IIIM), Technical Campus, Jaipur organized a host ofactivities during July-August 2016. A brief of activitiesis as mentioned below:

IIIM organized a Faculty Development Programme(FDP) on Research Methodology on July, 16, 2016 onthe topic 'Importance of Data Analysis in Research”.Dr. N. K Gupta, Professor, Indian Institute ofManagement (IIM) Lucknow, Noida campus, was theresource person.

In a very lucid manner Prof Gupta introduced theparticipants to the basic aspects of research, itsimportance and characteristics. He took the facultythrough the steps in carrying out effective researchand expressed that quality research is an outcome ofcommitment, dedication and hardwork.

The session was comprehensive but concise and dealtwith coverage, ranging from Hypothesis framing,variable identification, literature review, datacollection, sampling and analysis to thesis writing.

The focus however was on Analysis of data andparticularly Multivariate Analysis. Dr. Guptasummarized about the various tests to be adopted forqualitative & quantitative data where a chi-square testwould apply and where t-test or z-test or correlationshould be used. He also brought out the differencesbetween various scales and described them withexamples.

A wasFaculty Development Programme (FDP)organized on Research Methods in Management onJuly 21, 2016. The resource person was Dr BalKrishna, Professor, Himachal Pradesh University,Shimla.

The objective of the FDP was to provide practicalhands-on experience to the participants inunderstanding the process of conducting basic as wellas advanced management research. The participantswere able to learn in-depth use of statistical packagesthat are widely used for conducting business researchstudy. The participants also got exposure to variousmultivariate data analysis in research. The programmewas aimed to expose participants to a selected set ofmultivariate statistical tools and data miningapproaches. The FDP was helpful in understandingthe applicability and the underlying logic of thestatistical tools.

IIIM opened its new academic calendar for the first yearstudents of MBA and MCA on 4th August with aweeklong orientation program - “Parichay-2016”organized to benefit the students who are about toexperience a new phase in their life.

International School of Informatics and Management(IIIM) in collaboration with University of Bolton, RAKCampus, UK; Indus International University, HimachalPradesh; Western International College FZE, Ras AlKhaimah, UAE and the IIS University, Jaipur organizedan International Conference on “Internet of Things andBig Data: Technology and Impact on Business andManagement” on 16-17 August 2016. The Chief Guestof the conference was Prof N P Kaushik, Vice Chancellor,Rajasthan Technical University, Kota and Guest ofHonour was Shri Nishant Patni, Founder, Culture Alley,Jaipur. The Conference included two broad technicalsessions: the technical session I on “How the Internet ofThings and Big Data are changing the businesslandscape” and the technical session II on “IoT, Big Dataand Enabling Technologies” and a Panel Discussion on“Internet of Things and Big Data: Transforming Life andBusiness”. The technical sessions of the two dayConference observed the sessions of invited speakersincluding Dr Aarushi Jain, Duke University, Durham,United States, Prof Atulya Nagar, Liverpool HopeUniversity, UK, Ms Anusha Reddy Thokala Chrysler,Michigan, USA, Dr Divya Bhutani, University of Twenteand University of Gronigen, Netherlands, Prof P NuzralIslam, School of Business, Uttra University, Dhaka,Bangladesh.

The participants also benefited from the valuable inputsof Dr. Amit Bhardwaj, Thapar University, Patiala and DrRohit Joshi, IIM Shillong.

The deliberations and interactions initiated during thetwo day Conference provided a learning platform to allthe participants, speakers and delegates giving them abetter insight into technology and impact of Internet ofThings and Big Data on Business and Management.

Talent Hunt was organized to show-case the hiddentalent of fresh batch of MBAstudents on 31 August 2016.

Achievement:Mr Pawan Kumar Khandelwal and Ms NancyKhandelwal have been selected for West Zone Inter-University Badminton Tournament in the team ofRajasthan Technical University, Kota.

Release of SIS Journal on 29th July 2016: The international fame registered journal (Journal of ProjectivePsychology and Mental Health, Vol-23, No-2, July 2016) in coordination with Somatic Inkblot Society wasreleased on 29th July 2016 which is a bi-annual refereed journal. This journal is listed in the first 25 journals ofWorld Health Organization (WHO) and also listed in Proquest Psychology Research Data Base. Dr Naveen Guptais the Editor-In-Chief of this renowned Journal.

Case Writing Workshop on 30th July 2016: Prof. Ipshita Bansal, Government Rural University, Haryana visited andconducted a half-a-day session on “How to write a case study?” for faculty and research scholars. It was a veryinteractive session on intrinsic writing of case study with ease. She also focused on preparing the exhibit in a betterway.

FDP on “Discovery of Self for Effective Management” was conducted at HIMCS on 30th July 2016. ResourcePerson for this proposed FDP was the Behavioral Scientist and the Director of Institute, Dr Naveen Gupta.Participants of FDP were the Research Scholars and Management Faculty from nearby Institutions. They have beentrained by Role Play, Management Games, and Psychometric Test for Self Management, Relationship Skill, etc.

Family Planning Camps: HIMCS organized family planning camps with the help of its staff and students in village-Pingri on 20th August 2016. The camp was organized not only in village Pingri but in many other villages of Agra-Mathura region. The campaign was carried out by the MBA and MCA students of HIMCS. The campaign createdawareness and made villagers understand the positive aspects of a small family.

The objective of “Risk Management is to assure thatuncertainty does not debit the endeavour from thebusiness goal. Risk is unavoidable and present inevery human situation. It is present in daily life andprivate sector organization. Management's systematicapproach to setting the best course of action underuncertainty by identifying, assessing understanding,acting on and communicating risk issue is a most. RiskManagement is about making decision to contributeto the achievement of an organization's objective byapplying it both at the individual activity level and infunctional areas.

IIM Ranchi observes International Yoga Day

On the 21st of June, 2016 IIM Ranchi has celebratedthe International Yoga Day. A yoga camp wasorganized on the occasion at the clubhouse in theKhelgaon, Ranchi premises. Over 180 studentsattended the camp. Students were introduced to thebenefits of yoga, and the simplicity involved inpracticing yoga every day.

Foundation Day Celebration

IIMR celebrated its 7th foundation day on the 7th ofJuly, 2016. Ms Usha Thorat, Former DeputyGovernor, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) was the chiefguest for the function. The occasion was graced by thepresence of Prof Anindya Sen, Director In-charge ofIIM Ranchi, dignitaries from Jharkhand Government,the faculty and the staff members.

Ms Thorat took the students of IIM Ranchi throughtwenty years of macroeconomic policies of RBI andstressed upon the need to look beyond the obviousand delve deep to address the root cause of issues. Thetalk was both insightful and inspiring for the students ofIIM Ranchi. The event culminated with a vibrantcultural function featuring dance, drama and a bandperformance by the students.

Independence Day Celebration

With vibrant colors and great patriotic fervor, IIMRanchi celebrated the 69th Independence Day atSuchana Bhawan on 15 August 2016. The nationaltri-coloured flag was unfurled by Prof Anindya Sen,Director In-charge, IIM Ranchi.

Senior Country Economist of the World Bank DeliversLecture in IIM Ranchi

On 26 August 2016 a Senior Country Economist of theWorld Bank, Mr Frederico Gil Sander visited IIMRanchi Campus and addressed the students. The topicof the lecture was “Financing Double Digit Growth:Current & Long Term Challenges of India's FinancialSector”. In the lecture, Mr Sander discussed aboutIndia's current economic scenario and its projectionfor the next two years. The lecture was concluded afterthe question and answer session with the audience.The lecture was attended by the students and thefaculty members of the Institute.

XLRI Gets International Accreditation from AACSB

XLRI earns the coveted international accreditation byAACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools ofBusiness) for its flagship management and doctoralprograms. This is the second coveted InternationalAccreditation for XLRI after Association of MBAs(AMBA), which XLRI received in 2015. XLRI joins aselect group of global business schools to havereceived AACSB accreditation for its doctoralprogram.

AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence inbusiness education, and has been earned by less thanfive percent of the world's business managementprograms. Achieving AACSB accreditation is a multi-year process of rigorous internal review, engagementwith an AACSB assigned mentor, and peer review.

XLRI Hosts Valhalla

XLRI recently hosted its annual sports and culturalfestival Valhalla 2016 from July 29 to 31 atJamshedpur campus. The theme of this year's eventwas “The Streets Are Calling”.

In its fifth edition, the three-day extravaganzaincluded a mélange of events ranging from dance,drama and debate to various sporting spectacles.Students from other leading B-schools including theIIMs, NMIMS Mumbai, BIT Mesra, XIM Bhubaneswaralong with the home school participated in the fest.

XLRI Welcomes New Batch of 537 Students

XLRI welcomes new batch of students at a ceremonyof commencement of the new academic session of2016. A total of 537 students joined the illustriousXLRI student fraternity, including three flagshipprogrammes — Business Management (183 students);Human Resource Management (182 students);Fifteen-month General Management Programme(119 students) — and part-time Business Managementprogramme (39 students)

The new students were welcomed at a solemn,inaugural prayer service function at XLRI campus inthe presence of all the current students, faculty andstaff members. The welcome ceremony wasaddressed by Fr E Abraham, S J., Director and ProfPranabesh Ray, Dean [Academics] at XLRI.

Orientation Programme of MBAStudents:

The Orientation Programme for Semester-I students ofMBA (Pharma/Agribusiness/IB/MM / FS /Media) –Batch (2016-18) and BBA(FM / General)- Batch (2016-19) was organized on 25th July 2016 by Centre forManagement Studies, Center for Media, Entertainment& Communication, and GNU-NSE-Skill Centre forCapital Market. The orientation program is anintroductory session designed every year for the newbatch of students, to guide them in adjusting to newsurroundings, helping to unfold the answers to thequestions they have, and providing them informationabout campus resources, programs, events round theyear and many more things which require their activeinvolvement. The event started with registration of newstudents and welcoming guests. On this auspiciousoccasion, CA Ujal Mehta, I/C Chairperson, Centre forManagement Studies, and Associate Dean, Faculty ofManagement Studies, the Guest of Honor; Dr SatyenParikh, Executive Dean (Academic Affairs), GNUIICand the Chief Guest of the Event, Dr MahendraSharma, Vice- Chancellor, Ganpat Universityaddressed the students and guided them on the keyrequisites for an MBAaspirant.

World Brand Ambassador of True Caller & President ofElixir Foundation Mr Madhish Parikh was invited as aGuest of Honor who addressed the young aspirants onthe topic of “Youth for India”. It was a highly motivatingsession for the students as that appealed them to think“Out of the Box” and generate interest on new era ofindustry related MBAprograms.

The orientation program also comprised of discussionon syllabus, exam pattern, placement opportunitiesand code of conduct at the campus held by seniorfaculty team and program coordinators.

Summer Internship Award 2016:

During Orientation program, Centre for ManagementStudies has set the trend to recognize and reward thestudents who have made excellent efforts duringsummer internship. This activity motivates the newlyentered students towards industry interface approach.

Industry Expert Session Series:

With an aim to impart practical industrial knowledgeto industry specific MBA students, Centre forManagement Studies has taken up the initiative toorganize Industry Expert Session Series from currentacademic year.

WESTERN REGION

� In this line, the first Industry expert session wasorganized on 13th August 2016 on “Negotiation is aScience or Art?” Mr Neelkamal Mohanty, CEO,Rthym Infocom. Pvt. Ltd delivered the expert talkwith presentation and role play, which has coveredthe practical aspects and real time examples fromindustry related to negotiation. The students ofsemester III attended the session with full strength.

� The Second Industry expert session was organizedon 30th August 2016 in association with Federationof Indian Export Organisations. Mr KaushalendraPratapsingh, Deputy Directorate General of ForeignTrade (Ministry of Commerce & Industry,Government of India), Mr Nathabhai Nangas,Assistant DGFT (Ministry of Commerce & Industry,Government of India) and Mr Jayprakash Goel,Head, Federation of Indian Export Organizations(WR), Ahmedabad delivered expert talk. Thetheme of the session was “How to be a successfulExporter?” The Session covered standard procedureto be an Exporter, detailed description aboutdocuments required for the same and key skills setrequired to be a successful exporter. The expertsguided the students to create the link betweenMinistry of Commerce & Industry, Government ofIndia and small scale companies. They alsoexplained how to use the official web links for datamining and market analysis practically. The entireevent was sponsored by Federation of Indian ExportOrganizations.

First Aryabhata Memorial Oration by PadmaVibhushan Dr. Anil Kakodkar (August 10, 2016)

Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya (SVVV)launched the 'Centre of Excellence in PlasmaResearch' on August 10, 2016. The Centre wasinaugurated by Padma Vibhushan Dr Anil Kakodkar,Former Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission ofIndia. Dr Kakodkar also delivered the First AryabhataMemorial Oration on “Getting Ready for KnowledgeEra” at Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth VishwavidyalayaAuditorium the same day. He emphasized on theurgent need to evolve and nurture conduciveinnovation ecosystems and respond to technologydevelopment demands.

Dr Anil Kakodkar is an eminent scientist andnuclearmechanical engineer. He was Secretary to theGovernment of India and Director of the BhabhaAtomic Research Centre, Trombay from 1996–2000.Dr Kakodkar was awarded the ,Padma VibhushanIndia's second highest civilian honour on 26th January2009. He has worked for the development of theatomic energy program in India throughout hisprofessional life. Apart from playing a major role in thecountry's nuclear tests asserting sovereignty, Kakodkarchampions India's self-reliance on as a fuel forthoriumnuclear energy. Currently, he is holding INAE SatishDhawan Chair of Engineering Eminence at BARC. DrKakodkar devotes his time primarily on the issuesre la ted to energy, educat ion and socie ta ldevelopment.

The Chancellor of the University, Shri PurushottamDas Pasari apprised the audience about thebackground of Shri Vaishnav Trusts. He also threwlight on some of the unique programs of the University.

SVVV Vice Chancellor Dr Upinder Dhar said on thisoccasion that “with the launch of Centre of Excellence,research will be undertaken on the complex topics likeatomic energy. He also mentioned that SVVV hadreceived grants worth Rs.95 lakhs for plasma researchso far.

Dr Yogesh C Joshi, Professor has taken charge ofDirector and Head of The Department at the Institutesince June 2016. Under his leadership, academicactivities have taken a boost with renewed vigour.Following academic activities have been organised inthe institute in the month of August.

The Business Management Department of the SardarPatel University organised various expert lecturesunder its Expert Lecture Series and Industry AcademiaInterface. During the month of August followingactivities were undertaken.

On 2nd August, a tree plantation programme wasorganised in the Department to welcome arrival ofMonsoon. Students and faculty members and officestaff planted saplings of fruit trees.

An expert lecture on Challenges and Opportunities inManagement profession was organised on August 5th2016, to orient students of the new batch in thedepartment to nuances of Management Education inGlobal Economy. Mr Dilip Pandaya a managementconsultant was the expert speaker.

Mr Jayesh Shukla, MD of reputed Accenture, Germanydelivered expert lecture on how Digital World is likelyto unfold in future. His presentation titled ''Innovationand Living / Working in a Digital World'' was acomplete breakthrough experience, which was out ofour imagination. The virtual reality is soon to take uponthis world. Yes Bank's Managers visited our institute IBM on 24thAugust. The 2 hours session was about the Initiative ledby Yes Bank to encourage youths of India. The team Mr.Birendra Singh Jala (Sr Manager), Ms Swetal Patel(Manger), Mr Nehal Patel (Manager) showedmotivating videos about the initiative and competition

through the participants presentation ''ChangedProgram CSR activity''. The main objective of thisinitiative is to create awareness and socialtransformation through youth.

This initiative is focused on young students and theyare supposed to shoot a video with a unique socialmessage and compete with other participants aroundIndia. The Institute is running its MBA (core) program whichhas 2 options of specialization to have by everystudent. Marketing is compulsory as a major and another major s/he can opt is from HR, Finance andSystems. i.e. dual specialization concept is followed.The Institute runs all the programs on self financingbasis. The admission of MBA is done by the CounselingAuthorities of MP Govt. through a Common EntranceTest as per merit. The fee structure is fixed by MP Govtand the Institute can not change. The process ofadmission in case of undergraduate programs is doneby the State Government norms through onlinecounseling procedure. The admission process forprofessional admissions is based on merit only andreservation is made to any category as fixed by the StateGovernment. The Institute considers financialassistance to economically weaker section students onthe basis of merit marks.

The teachers' qualification and experience remainssame as that of the University Faculties. The Institutealso appoints adjunct faculty / visiting faculty to teachsuch subjects for which specialized approach is to befollowed. The Institute adopts all the norms as fixed byAICTE/ DTE/UGC and modified from time to time.

At the start of the semester, every faculty member isgiven the academic calendar and teaching plan whichs/he has to adhere during the session. At the end of thesemester, every individual faculty member has tosubmit the report of his class, this sheet consists ofvarious parameters including class test, classperformance, seminar presentation, etc. The Instituteis very particular about the constant development of itsfaculty members. Towards this end, it organizestraining programs, workshops and sponsors facultymembers to National and International Conferencesand Seminars.

The Institute adopts interactive lecture method,seminars, EMLs, computer assisted learning & projectbased Learning. Faculty participation is improved bygranting academic leave etc. Institutional Budget forResearch is there for every year. Students'participationis there in the workshop and Conferences organized inthe Institute. Apart from this, students have to conducta Major Research Project in the final semester of their

programs. The repository of National and InternationalJournals are there to provide Major Research facilitiesfor the students as well as faculty members. In houseJournal PACE is also published biannually forenhancing the research activity in the Institute. Institutehas Organized 2 International Conferences, 2 NationalConferences, 6 National Research MethodologyWorkshops, 8 National Case Writing Workshops.

Students of the Institute participate in the extensionactivities as NSS and NEN. For other NGO's activitieslike Van Mahotsav, the students and staff participate inplanting the plants around the Institution and at a placeselected by the local authorities for such publicplantation during the rainy season.

The Institute has a rich library with a good collection ofBooks, Journals and Magazines to meet the needs ofstudents and staff. The process for the purchase ofbooks and journals to update the Library is acontinuous process. The library of the Institute has anAdvisory Board, which suggests the purchase of booksfor different subjects and curriculum. The boardconsists of chairperson and four members (All HOD ofDepartments). The Library has an open shelf system.Every Student is issued two Library cards for the issue ofBooks, and has to return the same within a stipulatedperiod. It also has its e-library, and also hasmembership of PROQUEST which provides an accessto the database articles, Research papers.

Corporate Advisory Board has been incorporated inthe Institute to anticipate public Concern in our currentand future program offerings and operations. Everysemester student feedback is taken to improve thepedagogy of teaching and latest technology is used toserve the current and future educational needs andchallenges.

Institute has a Student Development Cell, WomenEmpowerment Cell and Entrepreneurship Cell.

PIMD's Air Conditioned Computer Lab is wellequipped with computing resources to cater to thetechnological needs of the Institute. The campus of theInstitute is Wi-Fi enabled.

A Workshop on Managing and Measuringorganizational Problems and Performance wasorganized on June 11, 2016. Dr Dale Dwyer,Professor of Management, College of Business andInnovation, University of Toledo was the resourceperson for the workshop. The workshop was attendedby faculty and industry people.

A Micro Teaching Workshop was organized at PSGIMduring June 24 – June 30. The faculty were dividedinto three groups, each group pertaining to twosubjects. Each subject was allotted sessions, in whichthe faculty handling the subjects delivered thesessions to nominated student faculty. Theinteractions during the session and feedback of thestudent faculty were given to the teaching faculty.

MASTER STRATEGIST 2016 @ PSGIM – Why shouldstudents have all the fun?? – July 14-15, 2016

For a change, this was an event designed for facultymembers to compete. MASTER STRATEGIST 2016 aboard room Simulation game for the faculty memberswas held in PSG Institute of Management on July 14th

and 15 , 2016. This simulation game developed byth

Learnbiz Simulations exposed the participants to realtime business situations with decisions regardingproduction, marketing, finance and human resourceto be taken in every round. Seven teams includingVellore Institute of Technology, Kumaraguru Collegeof Technology, PSGIM, GRG School of ManagementStudies, PSG College of Arts and Science and Karunyaparticipated in the event. The game was a hugelearning experience for faculty handling differentcourses in management as they witnessed the resultsof their decisions and the impact it had on theirbusiness. The event saw tough competition amongthe teams as they enjoyed the ups and downs of theirbusiness decisions and eagerly awaited the results ofevery round. At the end of 10 rounds the KCTBusiness School team emerged the winner followedby the team of PSG Institute of Management.

A half day workshop on “Next Generation Logisticsand SCM Issues and Challenges” was delivered byProf C S Lalwani, University of Hull Business School,United Kingdom on July 27, 2016.

An AIMS-Sponsored Workshop on “How to WriteResearch Papers” was organized at PSGIM on July 29,2016. Dr Paul Hong, Professor, University of Toledowas the resource person. He shared the nuances ofresearch writing with the participants.

A FDP on Financial Modeling was organized on 29thJuly, 2016. There were 40 participants from variousinstitutions in Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka and AndhraPradesh. This is the 4th consecutive workshop onFinancial Modeling and this workshop has generatedgreat interest over the years.

PSGIM celebrated fromManagement Week 1st August to5th August and had taken an effectiveinitiative forInstitutional Social Responsibility (ISR) activities. As apart of ISR, a bio-camp was organized during Aug 4-5,2016 with an objective of creating awareness among thebudding managers about the various ill/chemical effectsin the products that they use in day to day life. A movie onthe applications of Biotechnology, demonstrations tocreate awareness on medicines, food and cosmetics,exhibition on wealth out of waste, terrarium and livebouquets, etc., were part of the Bio Camp.

The various student club activities at PSGIM wereinaugurated for the new academic year by Sri SrinivasanK Swamy, Chairman of RK Swamy Hansa group onAugust 24, 2016. He gave an enlightening speech to thestudents.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY: JUNE 21, 2016

With the aim of transforming body, mind and soul tofacilitate the best education, girl students of SambhramGroup of Institutions observed INTERNATIONAL DAYOF YOGA on June 21, 2016 @ 6.30 hours in the campuspremisesably guided by Mrs. Swarnalata, Mrs Thanujaand Dr Namita Kumari. The program was organized byProf KC Mishra, Director as the lead was taken by ourPrime Minister Mr Narendra Modi on December 11,2014 which the UN General Assembly resolved anddeclared as the “International Day of Yoga”.

At the outset the program started with a prayer andthenMass Surya Namaskara was conducted by students ofSambhram Girls Hostel followed by various asanas like:

a) Sitting Postures: Paschhimotasana, Ustrasana,and Shasankasana

b) Standing Postures: Ardhakatichakrasana,C h a k r a s a n a , P a d a h a s t a s a n a ,Paribritatrikonasana

c) Prone Postures: Bhujangasana and

d) Supine Postures: Sarbangasana, Hal asana andChakrasana.

The Pranayamas with Mudra practiced were: Bhastrika,Kapalabhati and Anuloma – Viloma.

Then the participants had undergone Meditation for fiveminutes feeling the pulse of the whole exercise and in asubtle state of mind. It was noteworthy they practicedSurya Namaskara, salutation to the Sun God forsustaining life on this planet; this improvescirculation of blood, maintains perfect health and fromhead to toe every part of the body is greatly benefittedwhich is why all yoga experts recommend SuryaNamaskara.

The Chief Guest Mrs Thanuja spoke about the benefits ofYoga for women as: keeping shape of the body, help loseextra fat on belly by stimulating sluggish glands like thethyroid, to increase hormonal secretions; regulateirregular menstrual cycles among women and alsoensure an easy childbirth. It also helps in bringing backthe glow on one's face making the face ageless andpreventing onset of wrinkles. Surya Namaskara is anexcellent cardiovascular workout and a good way to loseweight. Orientation Program Orientation Program at ISBR is–designed to teach the incoming students life skills likeconfidence, public speaking, organising andleadership to name a few. This year Orientationprogram included introduction to ISBR policies andculture, management games, theme basedworkshops, ice breaking games, case studies andvisits. This was followed by a Valedictory function.

Creative Workshop- 'Create a Story' ISBR Business-School conducted a workshop 'Create a Story' on10th August 2016 from 9am to 4pm at Amphitheatrefor PGDM and MBA students. Students discoveredteam work, time management and innovation amongthem.

Independence Day Celebration ISBR students took a-step forward and invited martyr's families to celebrate70 Years of Independence on 15 august 2016 withgreat enthusiasm.

Mentorship Program The objective of Mentorship–Program is the wholesome development of students of

MBA and PGDM batch ( 2016-18). Under this program,students undergo various activities and processes todiscover themselves and become industry ready.

Management Education Convention 2016 on“Transforming India into a Knowledge Society: the Roleof Management Education” on 26 August 2016.th

Distinguished dignitaries Dr Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD,NALCO, Dr Ramesh Kumar Pandey, Vice Chancellor,Ranchi University, Dr N K Ojha, GM (HR), CMPDI, ProfM K Gautam and Prof J Phillip, Founder President, AIMSgraced the Inaugural Session with their valuablepresence.

On this occasion, the Hon'ble Governor of Jharkhandstressed upon the need for equipping the students withadequate knowledge and fine tuning their abilities sothat they could be better prepared to handle disruptionsand changes in the present and forthcoming ecosystems.She highlighted that the management educationinstitutions have to play a vital role in converting HumanResources into Human Capital for application at the righttime.

Smt Droupadi Murmu also complimented AIMS for itsremarkable role towards a skilled population focusing ongrass root innovation and how these innovations couldbe refined and made marketable by developingknowledge partnerships.

The Governor conferred the Ravi J Matthai NationalFellow Award 2016 upon Dr T K Chand and ProfMohd Masood Ahmed. The Award is given tomanagement educators and professionals forachieving a high level of distinction in their respectivedisciplines.

Dr L N Bhagat, President, AIMS, welcomed thedignitaries, guests and participants. In his address, hepointed out that there was a strong need for thecountry to emerge as a knowledge society. Creation ofknowledge, its dissemination and use in all spheres oflife and sectors would see the country successfullyand potentially transform into a knowledge society.

Prof J Phillip, the Founder President, AIMS detailedout the activities of AIMS and focused on the issueslike need for capacity building by B-schools, shortageof faculties, etc.

Dr R K Pandey, Vice Chancellor, Ranchi Universityopined that sharing knowledge managementexperiences on multi-institutional platform isimportant in the wake of emerging challenges, whichrequire innovative transfer of knowledge.

Dr Tapan Kumar Chand, Guest of Honour called uponthe corporate sector to implement and support theknowledge sharing initiatives as Corporate SocialResponsibility, for the overall growth of all thestakeholders.

Dr N K Ojha emphasized that knowledge ifamalgamated with wisdom will work out wonders,transforming the society into a skilled population.

The Key Note Speaker, Mr Mohan K Gautam pointedout that education should be practice-oriented andchildren should realise what they want to achieve andwhat they could achieve.

The AIMS Journal of Management was releasedfollowed by honouring of the dignitaries on the Daisby Her Excellency, Hon'ble Governor of Jharkhand.

The Inaugural session ended with Vote of Thanksproposed by Dr A K Choudhury, Registrar, RanchiUniversity.

The first day had two plenary sessions. Plenary Session1 was called as “Digitization and the Emergence of aKnowledge Economy.” The Session was chaired by DrUday Salunke and Distinguished Speakers were ProfLakshman R Watawala. Prof G D Sharma, ProfSandeep Dhir, Prof Anindya Sen, Shri Manas RanjanPanda, Dr Apoorva Palkar and Dr Jeffrey Alderman.The following were the recommendations of thissession –

� B-Schools should focus more on digital education toconnect with multiple stakeholders.

� Creation of digital markets could yield significanteconomic benefits and lead to substantial socialbenefits to societies and communities only whenmeaningful research is done.

� Digitized learning should ensure that adaptationand innovation of business performance occurswhen management institutions align themselveswith the changing dynamics.

� Need for rigorous research to evaluate, validate andupscale innovations through digitization in order toidentify niche areas.

� The need for fundamental core values like self-discipline and commitment are the need of the hourin order to be successful and manage the growingbusiness complexities.

The Plenary Session 2 was called as “TowardsKnowledge Society in India: the Role of ManagementEducation”. The Session was chaired by Dr RajendraSrivastava, Dean, ISB. Dr Manish Sharma, Mr AshishKumar Chauhan, Shri Vivek Atray, Dr Sanjib Bansal andProf A Thothathri Raman were the eminent speakers.The recommendations of the session were –

� The management schools and universities needto address their current and future impact onsociety in a pro-active manner and stress uponthe responsibilities of students towards publicand the necessity to practice good citizenship.

� Different stages of economic developmentneed different sets of skills and the prevailingeducation system should inculcate communityspecific skills in the students.

� Programmes must be streamlined not only inenhancing the conceptual and theoreticalknowledge of students but also in helping themgain adequate practical exposure.

The evening of the first day drew to a close with acultural extravaganza which kept the audienceconnected and engrossed. It was followed by a welcomedinner.

The second day was power packed with two PlenarySessions, AIMS Foundation Day Lecture and EightConcurrent Sessions. The day commenced with the thirdPlenary Session on the sub-theme “Skill Developmentfor Knowledge Society and Enhancing Employability”.The session was chaired by Mr M R Rao and the othernotable speakers were Shri N K Ojha, Prof MohdMasood Ahmed, Dr S K Singh and Shri Kumara Guru.The outcomes of the Session were –

� Need based pre-service and in-service trainingprogrammes to train the students in soft skills, job-oriented skills and problem-solving skills,leadership skills, etc.

� Long-term skill development programmesespecially for the youth.

� In a knowledge economy, learning is sharedlearning, continuous learning and lifelonglearning which involves continuous, personaland collective learning for growth anddevelopment.

The Fourth Plenary Session was on the sub-theme“Innovative Approaches in Management for aKnowledge Society in India. Dr Ashok Joshi was theChairperson of this Session with distinguishedspeakers Prof (Dr) Upinder Dhar, Mr William S Parrott,Prof (Dr) Prabal Kumar Sen. The Session concludedthat –� The pace of India's progress towards a knowledge

society will depend to a large extent on its abilityto make available the latest and most usefulknowledge to vast sections of the society.

� Openness in information and knowledge sharingthrough awareness, advocacy, and capacitybuilding programmes are the need of the day atregional, national and global levels so that itenables easier discovery and effective use ofavailable information.

� In the context of the emerging paradigm ofinnovation, a large part of relevant and usefulinformation generated through fruitful investmentwhile improving the quality gives learners a greatsense of autonomy and responsibility towardslearning.

Mr Nicolas Jordan in his Foundation Day Lecture,stressed upon the qualities needed to be a successfulhuman being and advocated that the younggeneration should acquire more listening skills andcultivate positivity and preservence. He talked aboutfunctional training as well as behavioral training.

Four Concurrent Sessions were held simultaneouslyand the paper presenters participated and presentedtheir research papers.

In the next set of Concurrent Sessions post tea-break,the Jury Members selected various awardees for AIMSawards. The eminent jury members were: Dr (Mrs)Santosh Dhar, Dr D Y Patil, Dr R Nandagopal, Dr PNarayana Reddy, Prof (Dr) Shefali Gautam, DrApoorva Palkar, Prof B Ramesh, Dr Rattan Sharma, DrS S Sarkar, Dr Hari Krishna Maram, Dr B V Sangvikar,Dr Bigyan P Verma, Prof Mohd Masood Ahmed, Prof SS Prasad Rao and Dr Anil Rao Paila.

The third day of the event started with a panel discussionon “Success Mantras of Entrepreneurs”. The Session waschaired by Shri Bharat Kumar Jaiswal. The eminentpanelists of the Session were: Prof Barbara Cangan, ShriPratap Singh Chouhan, Shri Gautam Jain, Shri R Guptaand Mr Vijay Bahadur. The recommendations of thepanel were –

� Entrepreneurial success depends on personal factorsand external support systems.

� Emerging technologies must be exploited forcommercial entrepreneurial venture and promotionof entrepreneurship.

� Documenting and sharing best practices ofentrepreneurship will be inspirational to buddingentrepreneurs.

� Women entrepreneurs must be encouraged byaddressing their needs relating to marketinformation and skill upgradation and by providingappropriate training, interventions and mentoring.

� The Session ended with the concluding remarks ofthe Chairman.

Shri Sanjay Seth, Chairman – Khadi Gramodyog Board,Jharkhand was the Chief Guest of the ValedictoryFunction. He spoke about the need for creating moreinstitutions of higher education in Jharkhand andcreating more job opportunities within Jharkhand so asto facilitate the native students to pursue higher studiesand get jobs with their state.

Dr B V Sangvikar, Professor and Head, Department ofManagement Sciences (PUMBA), Pune the President –Elect, AIMS spoke about his plans for AIMS.

Dr S C Gupta, DSW, Ranchi University, stressed on theimportance of creation, preservation and disseminationof knowledge for growth and prosperity.

The three-day event witnessed tremendous intellectualinteraction and exchange of knowledge amongstparticipants and dignitaries.
