The ISC students of Sri Aurobindo International School were taken to Rishikesh (via.Delhi) during the Dussehra vacations. It was an amazing experience where the students had something to look forward to each day and never did they experience a dull moment. The journey to Delhi took about 30 hours. At Aurobindo Ashram we freshened up and were taken for a local tour of our capital city. The places covered were Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, The ISKCON temple and, Akshardham temple , where si-lence and peace helped us connect with our inner self. The main highlight of the day was the sound and light show at Akshardham .We proceeded to Rishikesh by bus, and were put up at the Aurovalley Ashram. We were all given some time to unwind, relax and explore the ashram and were asked to as-semble after lunch. After lunch we were taken to the Ganga Aarti on the banks of the sacred Ganges. This was, hands on experiences with Ganges in its full glory. We were all taken to a tiny 9 km trek from the ashram followed by a dip in a small stream probably originating from the Ganges. we had to present a cultural programme the following day. Everyone got busy turning up their creative sides to deliver some creative ideas for the show and the Ashram became a hive of positive, creative and constructive activities. As dawn engulfed the surroundings, we were taken to the meditation hall where the silence truly enchanted each and everyone of us. This was fol-lowed by an Om chanting session followed by a short interactive session by Swami Ji on the actual meaning of life. The next day we were taken for a RIVER RAFTING which was an experience of a lifetime. After this, our stay at Rishikesh came to an end and we left for Delhi early in the morning. . The trip had surely given us all that we had asked for i.e amazing experiences, fun filled moments, the amazing company of our friends and teachers and a myriad of emotions.

28.10.2015: Field trips facilitate many objectives of education viz., observation, Knowledge, Understanding and pave way to improve their social skills too. Chil-dren of grade II visited the Zoo park as their field trip related to their current pro-ject on ‘Animals’. Teachers planned to show all types of animals but they could see only aerials and Reptiles there. They were disappointed for the train was not available that day to go all around the zoo to see all types of animals. They en-joyed the day out with their friends and teachers. The social objectives of caring , sharing and friendship were very much fulfilled. They were asked to draw any animal they saw in the zoo, after coming back.

When mind is still, then

Truth gets her chance to be

heard in the purity of the

silence.

“Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind.” ― Rudyard Kipling

Words are mere sounds created by manipulating air but have the strength to knock the air out of you but also have the power to give you a high no drug can. They make you who you are , give shape to your character , become your identity and define who you are as a person to the society. Words are the most beautiful things in existence but also the most lethal. It’s all in the way one uses them , they have untold potential and it all depends on you and how you choose to use them. Words offer comfort but also are the reason you need comfort. Have you ever thought about every single word you’ve ever spoken ? every compliment , every insult , every sentence you’ve spoken out loud ? Probably not and most of us don’t and it might not seem like a big deal but it actually is. Words are hope and words are what destroy hope .We might not always mean what we say but what we say sticks with people and sometimes stayed with them for a life time. Remember that time where you called someone useless just because they could-n’t do what you could or the way you wanted them to do it? Yeah, that person might still wonder if he’s worth it or not every time he’s asked to do something. The time when you told a girl she looked like a depression queen and she was trying to get over the loss of a family member. The time you were angry and told your mom she couldn’t do anything properly and stormed .Did you ever turn back to see her face? Probably not, because if you did I don’t think any of us would be the way we are. Words are the most beautiful things in existence because they are the means by which we can express ourselves and it’s a shame how they are used to hurt people. The thing about words is they stick to you no matter how much you want to erase them they are imprinted on to our minds and become a prison. They have the power to bring the mightiest of people to their knees and show no mercy in doing so. Even the smallest of words are the ones that can hurt you or save you and you are the one bestowed with that power, the power to change, to improve, to enlighten or the power to hurt, destroy and wreck. So what I’m trying to say is realize people , wake up and see the power you have that can change lives, for better or for worse , that depends on you but you are the puppeteer here , you hold the strings and you have the control. Try making someone’s day instead of giving them a lifetime full of second guessing and anxiety. Words have the potential to stop wars and start revolu-tions, they can unite two people or tear apart families so be wise my dear reader for once uttered they can never be taken back . Words can be like X-rays if you use them properly -- they’ll go through anything. You read and you’re pierced.”
