How To: Advertise Your Dealership on D2DLink

Top priority for General Motors is taking

customer satisfaction to the next level, and

OEConnection’s D2D Express is helping to

do just that. GM’s goal is to get the right

parts to its dealers’ customers to put them

back on the road quickly! “Our goal is to

enhance the GM ownership experience and

we can’t do that if our customers’ vehicles

are in the shop,” stated David Gibson,

Service Parts Assistance Center (SPAC)

Manager for GM. SPAC handles all dealer

critical parts concerns.

Rolled out at no cost to GM dealers in

August 2005, D2D Express helps dealers

fill GM’s back-ordered parts. Integrating

dealership inventories into GM’s back-order

fulfillment process, D2D Express sends

automatic online notification to dealers

neighboring the dealership needing the part.

“D2D Express increased GM’s fill-rate of

‘emergency’ part orders by 50%,” said Gibson.

“In addition, orders are filled the same or

next day to help increase overall customer

satisfaction. GM provides this service to our

dealers at no cost and offers selling dealers a

percentage over cost to handle the fulfillment.

The breadth of dealer participation with

D2D Express has greatly improved the

effectiveness of our parts back-ordering process,

and we’d like to see even greater participation

from our dealers,” continued Gibson.

LinkIQ’s newest free enhancement

provides parts managers with their favorite

reports and parts movement information

delivered directly to their desktop.

Mark Tomasetti, OEConnection VP,

Emerging Products said, “This time-saving

enhancement is a direct result of parts

manager feedback — the need for data to be

at their fingertips, so necessary parts stocking

decisions can happen faster. We listened

and took action. OEConnection has pre-set

the most popular reports for dealers, and

they can be modified as needed. And of

course, dealers can still log in to LinkIQ to see

other desired parts movement trends.”

LinkIQ parts movement data shows the

dealer’s inventory stocking status, estimated

sales, and more, as compared to the group of

dealers surrounding them as defined in their

search criteria.

This reporting tool is available to

GM and Ford dealerships who post inventory

on D2DLink. Simply check desired search

criteria, and the results display part-by-part

details to help with stocking decisions. This

information can help dealerships build their

part inventory, avoid phasing in the wrong

parts, reduce idle inventory, and more.

Look for these pre-set reports:

• Monthly Scorecard

• Parts with the Most D2DLink Missed

Opportunities

• Top 200 Area

Sellers Not Stocked

• 100 Slowest Movers
