The Dalai Lama, when asked what
surprised him most about humanity
answered “Man.”
Because he sacrifices his health in
order to make money, then he sacri-
fices money to recuperate his health
and then he is so anxious about the
future that he does not enjoy the
present. The result being that he
does not live in the present or the
future; he lives as if he is never going
to die and then dies having never re-
ally lived.

MEASLES PREPAREDNESS
We have received an important health message from Dr Annette Nesdale, regional Public Health.
There are at present measle outbreaks in the Waikato, Northland, Nelson and Levin. Health au-
thories are recommending that if a student or staff member is diagnosed with measles in your
school, then the student or staff member is required to stay away from school for 14 days. Stu-
dents and staff who have had contact with the student will also have to stay away from school
for 14 days unless they have written evidence that they have had two doses of measles vaccine
after they were 12 months of age or have been diagnosed with measles by a doctor. This infor-
mation can be found in your child’s Wellchild Plunket Book or from a print out from your doctor.
Measles vaccine is free from medical centres. Further information on the Ministry of Health and
Ministry of Education websites.

SUCCESSFUL BRING AND BUY MARKET
On Monday Aft and Lower Deck combined to sell and buy their own creations in a MINI MARKET. The Juniors—then joined
the rest of the school in a ‘Bring and Buy’ market on Tuesday morning. A major aim of the market was to provide opportuni-
ties for students to use cash when buying and selling. All students have been paid for the work they have done in their PrEP
venture. Thanks to Xanthe (market Minister) and the government team for organising the successful market.

THE BOAT AND THE MUSEUM
Fredrick and his babysitter went to the museum. At the front door
there was a boat on the roof. Frederick saw the boat on the roof
and there was a handle on the boat. He wanted to pull it down, so he
told his babysitter to lift him up. So his babysitter did. Frederick
pulled the handle and the boat fell down like he planned but it
squashed him and his babysitter. An hour later he woke up in the
hospital.
