Our Annual Athletics Carnival finished off a busy week. Mr and Mrs Kilby spent a great deal of time putting the
day together and we thank them very much for their dedication and hard work. A lot of work goes on behind
the scenes in order for the carnival to run smoothly. Thank you to staff and parents who helped us on the day,
we couldn’t do it without you. A great day was had by all; and a special thank you to Mia and her canteen
helpers. Once again, we were fed very well and the support you provide our students goes way beyond just the
money made for our school. We thank you immensely.
We are hosting the District Carnival this week, so good luck to our students and thank you in advance for the
organisation and assistance our staff and helpers provide.
Thank you to the parents who came along to last week’s P & C meeting. Many things were discussed and
shared; including the Father’s Day stall, which will be coming up very shortly, Friday 30th August. Our students
always enjoy spending some money and taking their time to buy that something special. Don’t forget there will
be a raffle to go along with the stall, all money raised will go back into our school and students. Other items
on the agenda were discussions around our school Fete; this will happen early Term 4. So, if you have any
great ideas and want to offer assistance come along to the next meeting and share your ideas. A super fun
colour run that will take place at the end of this term. More details about this will appear shortly.
All classes have been busily working away on their entries for the show, their Art and Handwriting went in last
Friday and class hangers are being carefully constructed as we speak. Show time is always an exciting time on
the community calendar, we hope to see you there checking out the great display of our students hard work.
This week is our turn to be the beneficiaries of the trivia night that is organised and run by the Bowling club.
We would love to see as many of you there as possible, this is an amazing opportunity to raise some money
for our students, without having to do a lot in the way of organising. If you have never been, why not make this
one a first. Tables of six, order some dinner, have some fun and it’s certainly not a late night.
Another reminder about school uniforms, it especially nice to see all of our students united as team when they
have their uniforms on. Please come in and see us if you are having problems, we can always sort something
out.
Sporting Schools Last day today for Stage 1
students.
A note will be sent home
soon for Stage 2 &3 to
participate.
Visiting our local Library
In the lead up to our Book Week Parade, the local
librarian Erica has invited our Stage 1 students to
the town library to participate in some activities and
get to know the library better. Over the next two
weeks students from KK, K/1 and 2 Orange will
attend these small group sessions.
