HSPVA will hold an Open House the night of our scheduled meeting, so we cannot meet there. Our thanks to DonL and the fine folks at The Montrose Center for
booking our meeting on short notice. Please note that we will meet in Room 107 (next door to where we met this summer), as there is another group meeting in
Room 106 that night. Be sure you come to the right meeting!
New Ruling means Montrose TIRZ Back ON!
Neartown has learned that a new ruling permitting the City to count industrial property
in its calculations of total valuation means that the City now has plenty of room to create
the Montrose TIRZ without encroaching on the valuation cap. Additionally, there are now
only 3 proposals to create new TIRZ, and four for extensions of existing TIRZ. According to
Gwen Tillotsen of the City, all proposals will go forward this year.
Council will act on the four proposed extensions in September, and, after public hearings
in October, on the proposed new TIRZ.
Please make every effort to attend the September 15 FMC meeting at
The Montrose Center to learn what action we must take to assure swift
passage of the Neartown-Montrose TIRZ Ordinance in October.
