2015 Chapter Officers 2015 POKER RUN PLANNING UPDATE

The Poker Run committee has met 3 times now & set the date for Sunday, July, 12.

Registration opens at 8 AM & the last bike out at 10:30. The last bike needs to be in by 2:30. Salem HD will be the start & finish points. They are also arranging the entertainment & food. There will be 50/50 drawing, raffles for prizes & Salem HD gift cards.

The route committee has identified a tentative route. We have actually gone on 2 rides to check the route. Each time it was tweaked slightly. I’m sure we will check it a few more times to nail it down. Any excuse for a ride, right?

Poker Run Pins are in the process of being ordered & posters/flyers have been printed & are being distributed.

The success of our Poker Run depends on people stepping up & volunteering to help. At this time we are in need of people to help man the check-points. Ideally, we would like to have at least 4 people at each stop.

If any of you were on the Chilly Buns ride last Sunday, you can see how important it is to be adequately staffed. If you would like to help out, let any of the club officers know.

The next meeting for the route committee is on Sunday, March 1, at 11 AM & the general poker run committee is immediately afterwards at 12 PM. All meetings are at Salem HD dealership; upstairs conference room.

Think of it as a tangible representation of your mind!

MEMBERSHIP

Salem HOG Chapter #1997 Members: Your 2015 Annual Dues are now needed in support of our Salem Rock ‘N Riders Chapter at $25.00 per Member! Please include the Chapter Release and Enrollment Form (Available for printing on our Local Harley Davidson Web Site, at the

Dealership on the wall between the two bathrooms, or on the National HOG Site).

If you cannot find the forms or cannot print them, Richard Farmer and/or Bruce Mazell will have some with them at the February General Meeting.

The current number of paid members for 2015, is at 36 and we started accepting dues in November. Please pay your member-ship dues at the meetings or drop-off/mail to the dealership (3601

Silverton Rd NE, 97301) in care of Salem HOG.

It would be appreciated if members pay their yearly dues prompt-ly. Knowing how many members we have makes it easier to plan our budget and activities for the year. Thanks!

ACTIVITIES The Activity Committee would like to hear from some, if not all of the Salem HOG Members to find out what kind of Activity we can plan. We were wanting to do some volunteer work and we need ideas.

Treasurer Report: Bank Balance is $3,283.50.

$30 went to Laurie at HD for the Poker Run Insurance.

Treasurer is now able to track inventory of HOG Merchandise.

Asst. Director: HD Dealership - Spring Cleaning will be the 21st.

Pac-NW Rally in July (more info to follow).

Tri-State Rally in August (www.tristatehogrally.com).

Pendleton Bike Week in July (more info to follow).

Darrell Rybloom back in town - Donuts for poker run

Head Road Captain: RC Meeting will be March 8 @ 11AM @ Dealership.

Dessert Cook-Off will be held at the dealership on March 7th (more info to follow).

Chili Cook-Off will be held at Dealership on March 21st (more info to follow).

Discover Oregon ride is April 19th (more info to follow).

Bill/Jim will give Bike-Safety talks at the GM.

Bill/Jim will also be training members interested in becoming Road Captains (more info to follow).

Membership Coordinator: Current number of members who have paid 2015 dues is 36.

Also researching into what it takes to join the program “Adopt A Street” for City Of Salem.

We would adopt Fisher Road from the dealership down to Ward Drive (more info to follow).

Activities: Not much on the hor izon for activities. Possibly Toys 4 Tots event.

Quarter Master: Poker Run pins are $80 for the initial setup, but only $.90 per pin.

Waiting for Secretary/Editor to locate the pin logo/info from the Poker Run a couple years ago.

Director: Poker Run mater ials are at National HOG.

Marion County Veterans task force project?
