Speaking of the raffle, our Fundraising Chairman, Brod JunLinsangan is requesting everybody to remit their tickets ASAP.Please let us know if you don’t have tickets yet or are needingmore so we can give you some. In our last GMM, we elected Brods Alex Dulay, HermanSomera and Ferdie Yambot as this year’s Comelec with BrodGil Pagado as Marshall. Coincidentally, our Policies andProcedures Committee have outlined the guidelines for theComelec to implement. As it’s always been through the years,August 31st is the deadline for a member to pay their annualdues in order to be eligible to vote, so please be guidedaccordingly.

Next month will be the Presentation of Candidates but sofar, we’ve only received feelers from a few. I would like toencourage the membership, especially those who have yetto serve the AA to step up to the plate and be counted. There’s nothing like the feeling of fulfillment in serving andI’m sure we can all relate to that. And besides, that’s whatwe do on a daily basis anyway, so why not carry it out fromwithin? It has to start somewhere, it has to start sometime, what better place than here, what better time than now…

steam rolled the Gold Vets in the rubber match to become APOGLA2009 Veterans and “Kaldeng” Champions. But the real questionwas (and still is to this day), where did the “kaldeng” go?

In the Open Tournament for the much, much, much younger ones,it was a total dominating show of 3-point accuracy for Team PlanetOrange as they bamboozled the competition put up by the BlueBayous and the Gold Diggers in the double round tournament. Inthe championship game between the heroic Gold Diggers andPlanet Orange it was supposed to be a no contest. But at the startof the game, the gritty Gold Diggers, despite playing with just 5players, gave Planet Orange fits and chills with a stifling perimeterdefense and dominant inside play but eventually ran out of steam. In the end Planet Orange capped off their dominant season by takingthe crown as APOGLA 2009 Open Tournament Champs.

It was a great season for everybody. Thanks for participating and beinginvolved in one way or another. What started with a whimper, went outwith a bang. After all, it’s not how you start. It’s how you finish.
