44TH ALL INDIA STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION

CODE VITA CODING CONTEST

The fourth year students ofDepartment of CSE ANITS Mr. LAbhinand and Mr. Takshak stood 2nd

in the CODE VITA CONTESTcompeting with renowneduniversities like IIT , NIT and others.In the first round 1, 50,000 teamsparticipated, from which only 750teams were shortlisted to move

ahead for the second round. After completion of second round only 10 teams reached to thefinal round conducted on September 2013, at Mumbai. After 6 hours of rigorous coding, thetop 4 programming teams were screened live at the TCS auditorium where all the employeesof Yantra Park gathered. The winners and the runners up were honored and congratulatedby the Chief Guest Mr. Ananth Krishnan,Vice President & Chief Technology Officer of TCS.

STUDENT CERTIFICATES DIGITIZATION SYSTEM

Mr. Ch Rajesh and Mr. K S V Krishna Srikanth,Assistant Professors Department of InformationTechnology developed an online application“Student Certificates DigitizationSystem” for the purpose of maintaining thecertificates of students of ANITS. Thisapplication is deployed in the college serverand is in use, It can be accessed within thecampus. This application maintains SSC, Inter/ Diploma TC, Caste and Degree TransferCertificates of the students. It is user friendlyand has many features for managing thestudent certificates.

Competition organized by National Design and

Research Forum, The Institute of Engineers (India),

Bangalore on 20th October 2013.

The team comprising Mr Anudeep Nekkanti, MsSai Aishwarya Betha, Ms Sindhura Katta fromIII/IV CSE are one among the 5 teams selectedfrom India to go to next level that is ACM ICPCWorld Finals 2014. The finals are from June 22-26th, 2014 in Ekaterinberg, Russia.

GUEST LECTURE ON SAP

TECNNOLOGY

The Department of IT, ANITS conducted a guest lecture

on SAP Technology on November 4th 2013 in IT

Seminar Hall under CSI and HILIOS Student

Association profiled under Mr. P. Devi Prasad, Senior

Software Engineer, IBM Hyderabad an alumnae of

ANITS (2001-2005). The event was coordinated by Mr.

Ch. Demudu Naidu, Sr.Asst.Professor, & N.Aditya

Sundar,Asst.Professor from the Dept.of.IT. Pre- final year

students from IT and faculty attended this informative

session that provided inputs to the students on prospects

that are set in software industry and also germane

information on new technologies like SAP for

developing the ERP (Enterprise Resource Plan) and

software development life cycle. Mr. Prasad further

explained different concepts like File Transfer Protocols,

Client network installation, access to Client Systems,

Creation of technical specification, Design and

implementation of Code, Unit Testing, String Testing,

Integration Testing etc by taking a practical example

from a project developed with 195 interfaces.

CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

AND ITS PROSPECTS

An invited talk on Introduction to Chemical

Engineering and its prospects was given in

Department of Chemical Engineering and

Biotechnology, ANITS by Ms. A. Hemalatha who

explained the methods and advantages of working in a

group and sharing knowledge which is supremely a

technique of study implementation at several IIT’s. She

emphasized the importance of summer internships with

reputed industries and institutes like IIT’s. In this regard

she has also given relevant information regarding

Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF).

A quantity of other constructive and helpful details like

the need of systematic and planned study to get good

score in GATE, the conceptual study of understanding

the practical applications of the learned concepts and

the importance of enhancing Communication skills for

professional and personal success was also meticulously

presented.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR 1ST YEARS, OCTOBER 3rd, 2013

The Department of CSE organized an orientation program

on 3rd October, 2013 for its incoming students to introduce

them to the life at ANITS. This event was harmonized by

the professional staff of the Dept. of CSE along with the

senior students of CSE under the supervision of the Head

of the Department. The program continued throughout the

day that is from 10am to 4.10 pm which started with wel-

come speech by Mr M Kranthi Kiran, Asst. Prof, Depart-

ment of CSE. This was followed by a presentation eluci-

dating the Vision and Mission of the department as well as

ANITS. Addressing the gathering, Dr. S. C. Satapathy, HOD

of CSE has provided various ideas that may help the stu-

dents to excel in academics, shared his experiences and also motivated them to be enthusiastic and active in the

learning process. The students were also strongly encouraged to approach to the faculty in case of emergency or

uncertainties regarding academic issues or any other similar requirements. This program continued with fun games

along with the faculty and senior student’s interaction by sharing their views and experiences. The new joins were

given a chance to introduce themselves by coming on to the stage and interact with their new friends and the top

10 good speakers were given prizes.

(Visakhapatnam) held from 16th to 30th Sep 2013 at ANITS

• Mr. Abdullah of Conduira Training & Educational Services Team (Visakhapatnam) has conducted

a half-day workshop for all the final year students on Resume Preparation & Answering HR questions

scheduled on 12th Oct 2013 at our campus

• Virtusa India Campus Selections held on 29th Nov 2013: The process began with online test

followed by Group discussion, two rounds of Technical Interviews and finally Human Resource Round

(HR). At the end of all these rounds, 10 students were confirmed their selection from branches of CSE ,

IT and ECE

• Mphasis Campus Selections held on 1st Dec 2013: The process began with online test on 21st

Nov 2013 followed by Personal Interview and finally Versant Test. At the end of all these rounds, 14

students from CSE, IT and ECE were confirmed their selection

ONE DAY WORKSHOP

ON IE3D EM SIMULATOR

A one-day workshop on IE3D EM Simulator was

conducted on 30th Sep 2013 in ANITS organized by

Department of ECE. This program was presided by

Dr.K.Murali Krishna, HOD, Department of ECE. The

resource person of the event Mr .M. Praveen Bhatlu,

Application Engineer, Tessolve Semiconductors Pvt.

Ltd., Bengaluru discussed the various aspects and

potentialities of IE3D Software, and how Microstrip

antennas and arrays can be modeled using this software.

The fundamentality and usage of IE3D for the PG

students and the faculty for carrying out their research

in the area of antennas was vividly elucidated.
