“Wall Street Got A Bail Out, Why Shouldn’t You?”

Greetings From The Galveston Wizard Good news! Everything is going to be O.K.! Like you, many have had their plans flipped on them recently. (we hope the clever cover gimmick wasn’t overwhelming, or the amazing artwork for that matter.) Hurricane Ike has shaken the very foundation of the coast on inland. Many of you are tired, worn, weary, and uncertain of the future. It feels late in the game, like you’re chasing steps,... waiting. We love all of you, hurt by the storm, and it’s so hard and lonely too, when you don’t know yourself. We too have had our plans flipped on us, what can we do but adapt and move forward. The island is our home as well, and it is more ripe with possibilities than ever. It will be better. Take Care of Business. We will get through this. During our adventure we lost our silkscreen operation, computers, stable headquar-ters, entire clientele and more, with all of our relationships power-washed by the storm. G’Wiz Enterprises, however, has since spawned the Tulsa Wizard Periodical (cover at left, this page). Our first new sister pub was made possible with the aid of pre-wave support of friends and budding clientele in Tulsa, simultaneously providing us with the funds to jump-start our return to you, to raise their voices on our and your behalf. We returned to the island to offer our support with “intent to return” our edutainment forum for the betterment of the community through relation, understanding and sharing of wisdom, ideas and resources with all we reach. Our unique circumstances have FEMA and SBA assistance as a non-option for now for us (thanks for your help, Ric and others, for your efforts thus far!), with our efforts and options here directly related to the success of the business climate needed to reach you, our readership, who ultimately impacts the community we all share. Say “Yes” to success, and our help. Keep hope alive. Uplift and encourage one another. Enjoy and love what you do. Find people that can share their expertise to help you help them. On a long enough timeline, we trust that everyone will be better off after the howling rain, winds and surge of the floods of Ike delivered to so many of us a change of plans. Special thanks to Linda Sivy, the Gorham Family, the Bederkas, Brandon Baughn and Chris Feigle (ad left page) for their gracious and timely assistance in our return to our home without a home. A welcomed wizard can do much for their realm. All are busy, and all requires effort. Though some have been driven far away by the storm, literally or figurately, we are all in this together. One love, one heart, let’s get together and feel alright. Cooperation, planning, compassion and direction will usher in a new era of peace and prosperity

in our island community as we continue our quest towards enlightnement. Expect the unexpected as time and support hastens our return to you. Be at peace, we wish the best for everyone out there, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Understanding & Getting Grants

Office SpaceGuide The Wizard with your wisdom. Help him on his way!

Buying the time, finding the masterminds to creat-ing an even more useful Web companion.

Surely there are people and organizations lined up to supply grant funds to good ideas, good people to bring the goods to the community.

The idea may be a rerun to some of you, but how do we bring Wayne’s World to you? Galveston Nightly News. (GNN), more...

Lets face it, a lot of people are hooked. But what other habits and things can we take to replace this smoking gun to have our lungs and pocket-books thanking us?

The Galveston Wizard is on the lookout for a place where readers and businesses can find us. What to consider when finding a newer, better tower...?

Its time to get real. The island can officially be whatever you want to make it. Peo-ple working to remove the mold that has infiltrated their worlds are now also given the opportunity to break or change the outdated molds they had in place “before.”

It’s almost impossible to go it alone. You have to trust SOMEBODY, right? The contractor is the main new tourist for now. Additionally, they are here to help! Not only are they putting in hours-on-end, but they are stimulating our economy as well. Direction, Purpose, and Support. Let each other up easily from the knockdown. Let’s leave a legacy of forgiveness, get over past grievances, and evolve into everything we can be as a progressive community with shared vision and understanding.

We look up and everyone and thing got drenched. “Wha-hap’n?” We now have to put the whole puzzle back together. Let’s see, how did we have paradise before?...hmm...might as well make it better. The kicker is, many await insurance money, federal or otherwise support programs, or other funds to “get back” and are putting in money that they didn’t have to make sh*t happen, re-open, and get back on their feet. It’s up to the community and visitors to help pay back what they owe and vibrantly re-grow, even better!

Those that did not survive will live on in our memories. The resilient - no matter the odds - will return better than ever, and we will bring them to you.

Team-Work!What’s Gonna Work...?(The Whole Island Gets A Facelift)

Together, we can.

A few businesses now re-opened after Hurricane Ike and it’s floods are enjoying TOO much business and success. A good problem to have, but that being said, they seem to feel no need to promote their services further. You may know them, businesses packed and busy every day. They are also one of few, for now. This is prime opportunity to grow business to the next level, to adapt...or to begin? When is business slow? What services would generate more revenue? The idea is to get your goods or services to as many people as possible without losing quaility, and that creates jobs for others who can then spend more and live life comfortably. The key to growing the economy is to spend, spend, spend. Buy local, support the island and each other.

What are we regrowing into? How go your efforts and adventures? We know you have sacri-ficed much to get where you are. Freedom and liberty often result from a great struggle. Intense pictures like the one below (in-set) document such moving efforts’ images. This photo by David Torkelson outside the La Quinta on 87th and Seawall in Galves-ton, Texas, captures the intensity of the island’s vigor and desire to return to an even greater level of prosperity and purpose.

Shane LassiterHope Crenshaw Since i’m only al-lowed two or three sentences this is

what I’ve been doing lately: Traveled to Galveston twice since IKE, once to South Beach (with Kids), Hosted a benefit for www.help4galveston.org here in Detroit, (made hardly any money but at least I tried!), Cur-rently designing a few townhouse interiors on the Island, taking classes, trying to occa-sionally blog www.wyld1.blogspot.com, And coming down for Mardi Gras! See ya soon!!!

-If it’s true that endurance breeds enlightenment (and I’m sure it is), then this is going to be one heck of an enlightened island. We’ve taken a tough blow and bounced back like flubber being smashed into the sea wall at 100 mph!

I hope the island takes this disaster and not only rebuilds, but also im-proves and updates to it’s full poten-tial. Don’t be scared, change is good and necessary.
