On Friday, 31 August, 400 Fest will kick start a week of festivities celebrating 400 collective years of Melbourne’s major municipal markets.

The Markets are coming to Federation Square for 400 minutes of fun. There will be huge giveaways of 400 various market goodies including feta and pesto-stuffed mushrooms, apples, pears, scrummy sourdough bread and snags, just to name a few.

Funds raised will go to Mission Australia’s Early Learning Centres.

This 400-minute opening event in Federation Square will start Market Week 2012, which will be held by the Markets of Melbourne – Prahran Market, Queen Victoria Market and South Melbourne Market. Market Week in September will delight Melbournians and visitors with a host of events and specialties across all three markets.
