“Ibelieve this association represents a safe place to test your skills, make mistakes or ask for help with no detriment to

your professional career. It’s one of the reasons I have moved through the various positions and committees and it’s also the reason I’d like to see it preserved while continuing its evolution. What the Board promotes and endorses seeps into the fabric of our association and

keeps us current or makes changes hopefully for the better. I’d like to see us improve our website, continue with the growth we’ve seen these past few years and nurture our newer members; encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones and participate fully in their chapters or on a national level. I’d like to expand the vision of our association and truly become the voice of women in construction.

Reason for Running“I have enjoyed my time on the board as a Director and believe I have brought good ideas

and promotion of thought to our discussions. I would like to see the board continue to move our association forward and want to be a part of making it happen.”

“Iam qualified to run for the office of National Treasurer because of my 32 years of experience in construction

accounting. I began my career as an Accounts Payable Clerk for a mechanical subcontractor and, over the years, worked my way up to Controller. In the last three (3) years, I have been working as the Chief Financial Officer for a total site development company,

further expanding my knowledge of the construction industry and accounting practices.

As NAWIC National Treasurer I will strive to provide complete and accurate financial reports for the National Board and work with the Board to create a realistic and balanced budget. I will also use my out-of-the-box way of looking at things to help control costs and continue to move NAWIC forward.

“Icurrently serve as South Central Region Director, which encompasses six states and 18 Chapters. I have served in

most every officer position at the Chapter level. I also served at both the Regional and National level as Marketing Chair, prior to being elected as Region Director.

I believe that NAWIC can expand its reach to the general public, encouraging women of all ages from youth on, to consider working

in construction. Once we have begun introducing women to the industry, then gathering them into our NAWIC network will come. We have to start seed planting first, then nurturing can follow.

I believe that as NAWIC National Officers, we help to influence the direction that NAWIC will take for the next several years. I’ve seen the positive changes that started with Past National President Leipard impacting our organization, and would like to help continue the trend.

Reason for Running“NAWIC is a passion for me. I want to give back to this association for all of the

encouragement I have received from members, helping me grow as a leader.”
