OH I WISH !!!!
I wish there was no violence
Everybody lived in peace
One could find silence
And enjoy life with ease
I would like a world where
Nobody ever fear.....
Everybody would share
Their joys with peers
There would be no place for lies
And honesty should reside
People should be jubilant and crave
And no one to take up suicide
But my wish still remains a wish
And I dearly wish......
If it could be fulfilled......!!!!

The Latest
trend revolu-
tionizing the
education in-
dustry is e-
learning. As
opposed to
common be-
lief, online ed-
ucation has
seen some
pretty good
admission
numbers. Ac-
cording to edX
CEO Anant
Agarwal, a
former professor at the Massachu-
setts Institute of Technology,
2,55,000 students had enrolled for
the first iteration of MITs im-
mensely popular Circuits and
Electronics Course, taught by
him. In a TED (Technology, En-
tertainment and Design) lecture by
him, he strengthened the fact that
online education is here to stay.
He gave the example of his 16-
year old daughter, whose interac-
tion with the family occurred in a
strange language teenlish, con-
sisting of only two sounds; a grunt
and silence. One fine day, Anant
sent her a plain SMS asking when
shell be home. Expecting the usu-
al cold and late response he put his
phone down when it rang with an
incoming message, it was his
daughter! Intrigued, he kept up the
conversation over SMS and was
very surprised to find her usually
introvert daughter very communi-
cative. He found out that the time
students
spent on
the inter-
net and
on their
phones is
way more than what
they
spend in
the class-
room, so
why not
put the
class-
room on
the inter-
net?? From the germ of this idea
emerged edX one of the largest
open education provider today of-
fering MOOCs (Massive Open
Online Courses ; just a fancy
name for online classrooms) to
more than 4 million students in
diverse fields like Electrical Engi-
neering, Computers, Sciences,
Aeronautical Engineering etc.
The success of the MOOC model
prompted more providers like
Udemy, Udacity, Coursera and the
likes to jump into the fray. Many
of these websites boast collabora-
tion with big names like Har-
vard Business School, Massachu-
setts Institute of Technology and
even Yahoo! And Google among
others, so you can be assured
youre getting top notch educa-
tion. It is true that dropout rates in
these courses are even worse than
rural India but here websites are
trying to add flexibility to cours-
es since most quit due to time re-
strictions. Integrating mobile apps
into their system and gamifying
courses are some of the measures
companies are taking to reduce
dropout rates. As far as authentic-
ity and reliability of these courses
are concerned, most websites offer
a Verified Certificate for a nomi-
nal charge if you take the semes-
ter exams in a supervised envi-
ronment. Most Companies are
now recognizing and accepting
these certificates as part of the
CVs of aspirants so jobs should
not be an issue.
Take a look at the comparative
merits & demerits of online educa-
tion and I seriously believe most
of you may be ready to jump on
the e-learning bandwagon.

According to Indian criminal procedure code, hanging is the method of execution in the civil-
ian court system. In India such capital punishment is given for the offenses like murder,
rape , drug trafficking, if repeated , being a party in a criminal offense etc. But the ques-
tion here arises, that awarding a criminal with death sentence is really justified? Theres a
popular saying by Mahatma Gandhi an eye for eye will make the whole world
blind so isnt the practice of death penalty is turning the Indian Justice System blind.
Rasha Alias Raghuraj Singh was the first person to be executed in Independent India on
9th September 1947 in Jabalpur Central Jail. Since, independence 171 people have been
sentenced to death penalty. In which latest addition is Yakub Memon, who was hanged on
30th July, 2015 in the offense for being a part in the conspiracy of 1993 Bombay bomb-
ings.
And since Yakub Memon was sentenced a death penalty the whole nation got infuriated as
many prominent faces of our society started opposing and protested the decision of the
Honble Court. Many big lawyers, politicians, actors, human activist questioned the death
sentence. And this was not the first time that people of this nation questioned a Death Sen-
tence, many such questions were raised earlier too.
The question of the people belonging to a human rights group or a lawyer or a law abiding
citizen is as simple as that Why let a person escape a life full of guilt and loneliness?
Why he is set free to die and not realize his or her sins ?
These questions are seen as avoidable and baseless questions but still these questions some-
where or the other can make one think once towards it.
No one can deny the fact that punishments for people violating the laws of the county should
be strict and harsh so that right message can be conveyed to the society. So sentence of life
imprisonment is more harsh and torturous in comparison to a death penalty as life impris-
onment makes the convict stay alive and live each and every moment of his life in guilt and
also makes him realize his or her sins . Life imprisonment also gives a chance to the convicts
to be reformed into good human beings. And it also ensures that the accused yearns for free-
dom and life.
I am no one to say or decide that whether the death punishment should sustain or abolished.
But as a citizen and resident of a democratic county where each and every one can express
their views , life imprisonment is a far better punishment than criminals being
hanged.
Thank you !

Batteries. Everyone has used at least one type of these little metal cylinders [or cuboids, for
that matter]. And surely you would have heard about DIY batteries such as a potato battery or
maybe a lemon battery. But what about a Candle Battery ?? Wait, what did you just say?? Are
you NUTS? This might be your reaction. But Im not kidding! Its true, candles can generate
enough DC current to light up LEDs, Motors and Bulbs used in science models. Just think
about it, a pair of candles as the powerhouse of your Science Model!!! So with no further delay,
lets begin.
Prerequisites
Subsided Excitement (Excitement + DIY = Disaster)
A pair of candles (Big, Fat ones recommended)
A pair of five-inch nails (Any slim, long conductor shall do the
trick)
A metre of thin insulated wire (The one used for small motors,
LEDs and the like)
Magnets
Matches (for lighting up the candles)
DC Motor / LED / Bulb / Buzzer etc (Of Course)
Caution : Young/Over excited/Inexperienced DIYers should seek help
from a elder before handling matches or any sharp object
Procedure
Take the candles and ram in a nail in each, horizontally across its width such that the nail
is parallel to the base of the candle when it is stood on a level surface. Take care to ensure
to go atleast half the thickness of the candle.
Take the magnets and rub each nail with it in one direction (either from the candle or to-
wards it.)
Cut the wire in half and strip its insulation from both ends. Attach one end of each piece of
wire to one nail using either crocodile clips or by just wrapping it round the nail.
Connect the loose/free ends of the wires to whatever device you want to power up, may it be
LED, Motor, Buzzer or something else.
Light up the candles.
If everything went well, youll find your connected device working. Have Fun and
Enjoy.

Sherlock Holmes-The Hound of the Baskervilles
This third detective Novel written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle features a very interesting incident which comes upon the able shoulders of the fictious character-Sherlock Holmes, who is a detective. The story begins with a case which is related to a myth. The myth was that Baskerville family had been cursed by a myste-rious and supernatural hound that attacked the family. This myth was communicated to Holmes and Dr. Watson by the sudden death of Sir Charles Baskerville by a heart attack. Sherlock Holmes was asked to unravel the mystery in order to protect the new successor of the Baskerville family, Sir Henry Baskerville whom Holmes meet after a day in London. Having explained the situation to Sir Henry, Holmes and his friend Watson started investigating the case by following Sir Henry and looking for all the suspicious things around. After a day or two, Sir Henry urges on to go to the Baskerville Hall and thus Holmes sends Wat-son with him for his protection. After reaching the Baskerville Hall, Watson and Sir Henry encounter numer-ous small mysteries and one day, Watson, with his investigations, finds Holmes lurking out secretly near the area to do some investigations. Holmes then explains his deductions to Watson and plans out a way to catch hold of the real culprit, who was Mr. Stapleton from Holmess conjectures. They use Sir Henry as a bait to bring out the hound who had been creating such a mess. It was found that the hound was not a mysterious one but an ordinary one which was painted with phosphorus to give a devilish look. The hound was finally killed by Holmes, Sir Henry was saved and after a day even Stapleton was caught. So, overall the story had the touch of suspense maintained throughout. This novel possesses a great story which can be read by anyone with the instinct of understanding and that of mysteries. This book should be read by people to drive away their superstitions and to start believing on things with a practical sense rather than a horror filled fear.

Tips for interacting with people suffering from disabilities
When you are comfortable, your actions and your words give a person a sense
of calmness and safety. Many people do not know what to say or how to act
when they meet someone with a disability. People with disabilities have the same feelings as you.
Treat someone with a disability the same way you would like to be treated and you cant go wrong.
The following suggestions sometimes called disability etiquette will help you to behave in an appropri-
ate way.
General Rules of Etiquette One of the most important things to remember when having a conversation with a person with a disa-
bility is to talk to that person directly, not to their companion.
Treat adults as adults. Do not talk down to people with disabilities.
Avoid using the following words while talking to or in reference to a person with a disability: Cripple,
victim, defect, invalid, sick, diseased, wheelchair bound, handicapped, retard, suffers from, deformed,
vegetable, dumb, moron, imbecile, or idiot.
The following terminology is appropriate when speaking about someone with a disability: blind, visu-
ally impaired, hard of hearing, mentally retarded, non-disabled, physically disabled.
Avoid terms that imply that people with disabilities are overly courageous, brave, special, or super human.
Conversation Etiquette with a Person Who Has a Hearing Disability.
To get the attention of a person with a hearing disability, tap them gently on the shoulder. Look direct-
ly at the individual and speak clearly. Do not exaggerate your lip movement.
Not all people who are hearing disabled read lips. Some individuals will rely on facial expressions and
body language to help in understanding.
Keep your hands and food away from your mouth while speaking.
Shouting will not help and sometimes makes it difficult to hear through listening devices such as hear-
ing aids.
If a persons speech is hard to understand, do not pretend to understand what they are saying. Ask the
person to repeat or re-phrase what they said.
Conversation Etiquette with a Person Who Uses a Wheelchair.
When talking to a person who uses a wheelchair, whenever possible, sit down to put yourself at their
eye level.
Not everyone can shake hands. A smile and a verbal greeting are fine. A handshake with the left hand
is also acceptable.
Never touch a persons wheelchair, it is an extension of their body. The wheelchair is part of their per-
sonal space.
A person in a wheelchair uses a wheelchair they are not wheelchair bound or confined to a wheel-
chair. A wheelchair liberates, it does not confine.
REMEMBER: People with disabilities would like equal treatment not special treatment. People with disa-
bilities are people first and disabled second.

It was nearly three months back that we (teachers) were asked to read a novel or a book of our own choice, so that we
can make a wise and optimum use of our summer vacation, I came across the book which brought a transcendental
change in my life. Not being much of a readaholic, I was not really interested in reading books, for; I had already read
many during my Post Graduation. But, when I was searching something good to read in the School Library, suddenly I
came across this book, which at once appealed to me and I issued it that very moment and started flipping pages. It was
New York Times Best Sellers THE SECRET written by Rhonda Byrne.
I was extremely anxious to know whats really inside it, what was the secret that the book claimed to reveal, so I began
to read and within a minute I was introduced to the SECRET that has been passed down through the years, highly coveted, hidden, lost, stolen, and bought for vast sums of money, which everyone wanted to hide, the famous personalities knew but no one told anyone before. It changed my way of life, renewed me and taught me how to live a
peaceful and contented life and be an architect of my own happiness and success.
So, you might be wondering what The Secret is? The Secret is the Law of Attraction!
According to the author, everything that's coming into your life, you are attracting into your life. And it's attracted to
you by virtue of the images you're holding in your mind. It's what you're thinking. Whatever is going on in your mind,
you are attracting it to you.
The Secret posits that the law of attraction is a natural law which determines the complete order of the universe and
of our personal lives through the process of "like attracts like". The author claims that as we think and feel, a corre-
sponding frequency is sent out into the universe that attracts back to us, events and circumstances on that same fre-
quency and I have experienced it a number of times. Next, in the book, a three-step Creative Process for manifesting
dreams is introduced:
Ask, Believe, and Receive. This creative process is based on a quote from the Bible: "And all things, whatsoever ye
shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive". The Secret highlights gratitude and visualization as the two most powerful processes to help manifest one's desires. It
asserts that being grateful, both lifts your frequency higher and affirms that if you believe you will receive your desire.
Visualization is said to help focus the mind to send out the clearest message to the universe.
Though the claims made by both the book and film ( movie based on the same theme) have been highly controversial,
and have been criticized and parodied by many, still it is worth reading once, as if you can believe you can achieve.
All in all, it is a must read in order to discover oneself, understand ones true needs and desires, improve ones life in
every possible aspect and make the most of the power which
resides within oneself.
