ASB ex- pects a 70 percent reve- nue decline if this deci- sion is made final which will directly affect pro- grams and supplies pro- vided by ASB. “From what I under- stand it’s just a model for this summer and I hope that we can go ahead and use the other examples we have. It’s our hope that it doesn’t go to the opt in option all throughout fall se- mester and only in sum- mer,” said ASB Student Services Sena- tor Angela Perdomo. Some community colleges do not re- ceive ASB funding and instead receive money through fundraising and district funds. However, a majority of VVC’s funds come from the ASB card revenue. “As of right now we’re able to help so many students. With the detrimental cuts, it will definitely scale us back to possibly where we’re just being in an office waiting to help students on cam- pus. We may not be able to do much more than that,” said Perdomo. The ASB revenue this year is expected to be just short of $100,000. Roughly $80,000 of this budget is provided through ASB card sales, according Per- domo. “This would mean that the $37,000 we give every year to athletics can no long- er be afforded. We spend $12,000 for the major semesters, spring and fall, doing I.D. Cards. We would no longer be able to afford to go to conferences to properly represent our students on a national level or even on a state level,” said ASB Secretary Cait- lyn Gempler. ASB has a commit- tee looking into this decision and are con- ducting surveys with other California com- munity colleges. Mt. San Antonio College is one of the commu- nity colleges to ex- plore the opt in op- tion. Their budget was cut by nearly $100,000 before they decided to switch back to an opt out option, according to Perdomo. “My personal opinion is that it's not going to help at all. A lot more than just ASB itself is going to be affected: athletics, perform- ing arts, and our clubs; there's a lot we offer to our students that we're not going to be able to if they decide to go through with this,” said Gempler. The opt in decision is still pending, according to Director of Auxiliary Ser- vices Robert Sewell. VVC Helps Combat Recession With Job Fair Story by Garrett Johnston

FeaturesEntertainment Editor

Another successful Victor Valley Re-gional Job Fair was held at the Victor Valley Community College campus on May 2 Attendance was high as the job fair gave an opportunity for those in the High Desert struggling from the ongoing recession With companies such as Walmart Sonic and Lowes in attend-ance many entry-level positions were being offered ldquoI brought 300 applications and they are all gone in an hour and a halfrdquo Jesus Lopez a Sonic employee said According to the Cagov website the city of Victorville currently has an un-employment rate of about 15 percent and for the county of San Bernardino as a whole about 12 percent This compared to the five percent unemployment rate of San Bernardino in 2007 is a dramatic increase

ldquoItrsquos very hard to find (jobs) up hererdquo Christopher Lauron an em-ployer for World Financial Group said Even VVC had a representative set up a booth and pass out a flier listing jobs available on campus They were offering positions for a campus reserve police officer positions in Instruction and Stu-dent Services and Offering jobs for part-time instructors in a wide range of fields Not only were there booths from major companies looking for employees but also other colleges were on site Schools like the University of La Verne and Ameritas College were on hand to help inform students on the pro-grams the schools offer For example the Ameritas College offers a fully bilin-gual academic program that they hope will help those that come from only Spanish speaking families ldquoEveryone is friendly they make you feel welcomerdquo

former VVC student Tyrone Fordham commented Opening its doors at 9 am the job fair had constant foot traffic as residence of the High Desert flooded the college campus Even as the fair began to close attendees still waited in line wanting to talk to one more company in hopes of landing a job ldquoIrsquom impressed itrsquos larger than the last job fair Easy to find good directionsrdquo attendee Laverne Harley said

Inis Meain The cold wind kept blowing off my hood as we waited on the dock for our ferry After having such great weather in Galway I was now a little more aware of what typical Irish weather was I had never been on a boat for longer than 10 minutes and I was a little worried that the choppy waves of the Atlantic Ocean would make me sick but regardless I wasnrsquot going to sit out this adventure After our day in Galway my two friends and I con-tinued our journey around Ireland by taking a day trip to one of the Aran Islands The Aran Islands are three tiny chunks of land off the west coast of Ireland Inis Mor Inis Meain and Inis Oirr We decided to go to Inis Meain the middle is-land and the least visited of the three isles I made sure to get a win-dow seat on the ferry ride for two reasons one my motion sickness isnrsquot as bad when I can look out the window and two I wanted to see the ocean swells smack against the boat What I wasnrsquot prepared for was how the waves would almost entirely envelop the boat We arrived at the quiet little island of Inis Meain around noon Maneuvering our way around the crowded ferry we were the only three that got off on this particular island We watched our boat drift away in the roaring sea and began our time on Inis Meain A tiny town sits at the top of a small mound on the island and is home to a small amount of people but it still feels empty Irsquom not sure if it felt so deserted because no goes outside due to the weather or because it just so happened to be Easter Sunday and in Ireland East-er is a big deal We began walking up a paved path looking out over the lush green grass It was beautiful in its emptiness The wind was harsher on this island but thankful-ly I had my handmade scarf wrapped around my neck for warmth The tiny

island was so peaceful yet one could literally bear witness to the destruction that the elements have on the land After some time on the shoreline in-specting seashells and crab carcasses Samantha Victoria and I regretfully parted from the shore to witness some-thing much more interesting than shells Walking through the island one is in-stantly aware of the hundreds of stone walls that take up much of the space on the island The walls surrounded small fields some with cows in them some

with sheds and some with nothing in them at all Walking through the small town on the island we made our way up to a ring fort ldquoDun Chonchuirrdquo the ring fort was thought to have been built in pre-Christian time The huge stone circular monu-ment was breathtaking It was like nothing Irsquove ever seen be-fore The stones are stacked up-on one another just resting Nothing holding them together however the stone fort has last-ed years and years and will more than likely last years longer The circular fort swept across the overgrown grass and opened up at the front side of the grounds creating an almost entirely en-closed circle of rocks We spent a lot time climbing around on the makeshift stairs on top of the walls and just wandering around the ring fort It was difficult to part from the an-cient structure but time was not on our side

The day was getting later and our ferry was due at the docks at 430 pm As we began trekking back the weather turned for the worst The wind picked up even more and the rain started coming down harder Back at the dock waiting for our ferry I heard a teenage boy standing be-hind me say to one of his friends ldquoI donrsquot know why people come here all it is is walls walls and more wallsrdquo Hersquos right all it is is walls Walls that were made hundreds of years ago by hand walls that have withstood rain and time walls that sweep across an entire island and walls that keep rooted an an-cient culture perspective is interesting Finally our boat showed up half an hour late and packed The ride back was rougher than the way there The boat literally looked and felt as though it was going to tip over and sink into the sea But we made it safely ashore and walked away from our time on Inis Meain freezing cold but full of adven-ture We made it back to Galway late that evening After stopping to eat some lukewarm soup and guzzle down some hot tea we went back to Samantharsquos apartment We were exhausted from the day but we knew our journey wasnrsquot over The next day we headed to Glen-dalough a popular tourist destination full of wondrous historic sites as well as beautiful hiking trails and lakes

Glendalough We woke up late the next morning and had to call a cab so we wouldnrsquot miss the bus to Glendalough We scurried around the apartment packing our things and double-checking for our passports and Euros

RamPage VVC May 11 2012 Page 5 Our cab driver couldnrsquot have been more typical An older gentleman with a wrinkled face and high-waisted pants he called us Miss and helped us lug our oversized suitcases into the trunk of his taxi He made casual conversation with us about where we were from and how long we were in Ireland for he seemed kind and genuine However we should have known that three girls from America were an easy target for a veteran cab driver He over-charged us greatly for the ride and did so with a slightly crooked smile Still I was happy we made it on time for the bus We climbed on the bus and sat down I knew I was going to be sick As soon as the bus started moving my stomach started turning Now Irsquom sure my motion sickness was a factor but my slight hang-over may have been a bigger factor this time We rode on the bus for five hours from Galway to Dublin city and the longer I sat on the bus seat the sicker I started feeling I lasted about four hours and 50 minutes until my body wouldnrsquot cooperate anymore Thankfully the bus had a small bathroom below I quickly got up but tried to go unnoticed by the strangers around me as I held in the vomit I was preparing to spew out of my mouth I made it down the tiny stairs and opened the door to what I was hoping to find a toilet but instead I found a bowl full of swishing water and toilet paper I remember thinking ldquoreallyrdquo but instead I just threw up We made it to our destination shortly after that My friends were waiting for me on the now empty bus as I emerged weary and a little grossed out from the makeshift porta-potty beneath the bus We had to catch another bus to make it to Glen-dalough and I was not looking forward to it Standing at the bus stop in the cool breeze my stomach ache began to sub-side I reluctantly climbed onto our se-cond and final bus for the day to travel for another 40 minute ride from Dublin to our destination at Glendalough Stepping off the bus I still felt a little ill but I couldnrsquot help but feel in awe of the beauty that surrounded me We

hiked a little way up a paved road to our first hostel The ground was damp the trees were full and healthy vines and roots grew uncontrollably out of the ground and on anything near them Pulling my luggage over the gaps in the road we wandered up the path to see a welcoming yellow hostel in front of us Walking through the front doors of the hostel I was aware of how cold I had been The place was warm and inviting A few couches were set up with shelves full of movies magazines and tons of books covering the walls Our room was small and packed with bunk-beds I set down my luggage took off my shoes

and lay down on my borrowed bed After waking up late and almost miss-ing our first bus a five hour bus ride getting sick and another hour bus ride I realized how tired I was My eyes were heavy and my body wanted nothing more than to rest for an hour or two The short nap did me wonders I awoke in much better spirits and health Victoria Samantha and I all put on our hiking boots and packed our backpacks to go for a short hike We were staying in Glendalough for two nights so we had a whole day of hiking ahead of us the following day The best way I can describe Glen-dalough is like a national park Only instead of being purely nature Glen-dalough is filled with old stone church-es a cemetery mines and the history of a small group of monk settlers Still Glendalough isnrsquot without its traditional national park draws Hiking along the Wicklow trail in Glendalough is stun-ning Even the smaller trails held visual

treasures From up-rooted trees to bogs and moss domes the entire place was beautiful and full of things I had never seen before Our late afternoon hike began in the cemetery right outside our hostel The cemetery was so old and decrepit many of the grave stones were beginning to erode Much of the moss that had grown on them had calcified and some had even fallen down Many of the epitaphs on the stones were faded and unreada-ble Moving past the indescribably beau-tiful cemetery we wandered onto the hiking trails Even though the trails were not as impressive as the cemetery and

old churches they were still in-spiring in their own right I re-member walking on one of the many trails scattered throughout Glendalough looking to my right over a pristine and silent lake and thinking lsquoit looks like a paintingrsquo It was flawlessly beautiful The entire time we spent in Glendalough I felt a complete sense of peace It is no wonder Glendalough is one of the more popular visitor destinations in Ireland The following day had even more in store for us We began back at the mosaic site to mosey around for a little We found St Savorrsquos church an old and eroding church that was tucked away behind trees and

an unlocked gate We spent a good hour investigating the carvings on the walls of the stone church Samantha being an Anthropology major of course knew what each symbol meant Moving on we hiked up a trail along the Wicklow path through Glendalough Waterfalls overgrown moss shallow bogs and of course the famous Irish clovers all filled the scene and took my breath away Glendalough could not have been more picturesque Our day ended in a hotel restaurant where I had the best cappuccino I have ever had Glendalough had been the most peace-ful place I have ever been to but the peacefulness was about to end and the real excitement was about to start as we were headed to our final destination Dublin City

Other advice given from the authors varied Do not self publish unless you plan to market yourself 2) Write 750-1500 words (or 3-5 pages) a day 3) Stu-dent writers were encouraged to join the High Desert California Writersrsquo Club that meets at the Apple Valley Library for professional critiques 4) Outlines are friendly towards non fictional books since fiction stories tend to move in any direction and 5) Go out and live

ldquoI must admit that he was my teacher at USC some of his assignments torture some of my students todayrdquo admitted Wagner

Lowersquos teen fiction book ldquoBoyfriend From Hellrdquo is written from the view of a fifteen year old girl whose mother is returning to the dating scene The drama unfolds when she finds out her moms new guy is everything but Heaven

ldquoI didnrsquot realize this but I almost al-ways write about women I had an idea I wrote for a show was about girls and I didnrsquot sell it So I decided to write a bookrdquo said Lowe

Author Norma Garcia and VVC Alumni class of 2003 wrote a memoir called ldquoThe Search of My Liferdquo Her tale represents her growth into a wise woman and is meant to advise and entertain

Marvels attempt to bring together their all-star team of heroes into one super-movie ldquoThe Avengersrdquo not only succeeds but will leave movie-goers wanting more while providing a little bit of something for everyone to love The sixth installment in what is known as Marvelrsquos Cinematic Uni-verse starts off right where the pre-vious Marvel films left off with SHIELD a secret government organization experimenting on a dangerous alien device called the Tesseract first introduced in ldquoCaptain America The First Avengerrdquo This cosmic cube is ca-pable of providing potentially un-limited energy The film wastes no time getting right into the plot as Loki played by Tom Hiddleston shows up and starts causing trou-ble Loki is then officially on SHIELDs radar and the world is in imminent danger Nick Fury played by Samuel L Jackson real-izes that they cant deal with this threat alone A decent portion of the film is the recruitment of the main team which was partially expected in a movie like this Fury turns to Agent Coulson and Black Widow re-prised by Clark Gregg and Scarlett Johansson respectively to bring in the big guys Both characters while already having played these roles in previous Marvel films have larger responsibilities here than before Little details are added to Coulson to further humanize him such as a life-long hero worship of Captain America and several standalone scenes that will make you root for the fed in the suit Black Widow has a much bigger role of course now being a member of the team And the great thing with her in this film is that her character isnt just eye candy for the male audience She gets the job done and with style Additionally her charac-ters back-story is explored in emotional dialogue scenes that add some needed depth to her already cool character

The best part of the movie is the super team itself particularly Robert Downey Jr Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth returning as Tony Stark Captain Ameri-ca and Thor respectively These actors

have the talent and charm needed not only to bring these characters to life but to make their interactions with each oth-er believable and fun Joining them as the Hulk is Mark Ruffalo who stepped up to the role and made it his There are several amazing individual and team moments throughout the film many of which come from the Hulk himself Eve-ry character has their awe moments in the film however its when these char-acters fight both with each other and then side-by-side that they truly shine That will make the inner geek in all of us want to stand up and shout Whoo The last 30-minutes of the film are a constant jump from one amazing action set-piece to another

Director Joss Whedon best known for his work on the cult TV hit Firefly de-serves an enormous amount of the credit for making this movie what it is He has always shown an amazing ability to jug-

gle a large ensemble cast and not lose the characters in the translation He was the per-fect person to balance the egos of The Avengers Haw-keye played by Jeremy Ren-ner might be the character that gets the short end of the stick in this department While his character is given some great action sequences he isnt given as much as the rest of the cast to work with due to reasons that will be-come quickly apparent once watching the film Even still he is an important part of the story With a film filled with larg-er than life characters that each has a complex history and skill set it was smart of Marvel to take the time to give its characters their own standalone movie before this team-up began Doing this helped ldquoThe Avengersrdquo avoid being an origin story for half a dozen characters which would have been a jumbled mess The film assumes knowledge of these charac-ters and certain previous events that have transpired through the other films The audience can quickly accept

the circumstances and move straight to the interactions between these characters and their fight against Loki The Avengers had a lot to live up to in the minds of every fan out there Hype had slowly built up over the course of five movies and the years of work it took to craft this universe of characters Im happy to say this movie exceeds any and all expectations Its not just an action-filled summer popcorn flick Its an engaging story with great characters fight sequences humor and heart

Rams Baseball Have Disappointing Season but Look to the Future Sports

The Victor Valley Rams baseball team ended yet another forgettable season finishing it with a record of 7-28 overall and 3-21 in the Foothill Conference under second year coach Jesus Beltran Last season Beltran came into a blind situation taking the reins of the Rams and trying to make something happen Just before the start of the 2011 sea-son coaches ended up leaving Beltran had to teach the players the way he coached and had a schedule mix up We are putting everything together to bring in good quality players not only from here in the High Desert but from all over to help rebuild the program We are doing everything we can to keep the local talent in Victorville and help re-build this to a winning name again said Beltran The biggest problem for the players all season was the teetering of productivity going back and forth with their offense and defense It would seem once the

offense got things rolling the defense would take the field and commit errors which kept the opposing team in the game and would eventually take the win away from the Rams We couldnt catch a break and get the key hit when we needed to Our pitchers would be on at one point and then our hitting wasnt so we just have to stay more consistent next year said Beltran This showed in one of the last games of the season against Barstow Commu-nity College with the Rams leading the Vikings 3-2 heading into the sixth in-ning Wild pitching and defensive errors would swing the momentum for the op-posing team causing them to get hit after hit With the Rams offense trying to step up they would be sat right back down with mistakes of their own causing them to lose 11-5 This type of play seemed to happen most if not all year long for the Rams The team may need to work on a few things here and there but Beltran be-lieves that the competitive level of the team has become better since last year as

well as the camaraderie of the team with how the players get along with each other With about ten fresh-man returning for next season Beltran has been hard at work from the beginning of the season with recruiting players from all over I have looked at quite a few and I am still look-ing we probably have about 30-40 recruits We are mainly looking for infielders and out-

fielders said Beltran Along with players returning veterans to the team such as catcher Ryan Dickin-son will be returning and infielder Ronald Leon who will be undergoing surgery is hopeful to return next season Ronald Leon was the stand out player of the year for the Rams with a batting average of 354 2 homeruns and twenty-seven RBIs Though many players on the team this year are returning for next season one in particular will not be returning sopho-more pitcher David Strunk Strunk will be transferring over to California State San Bernardino to play for the Coyotes on a partial scholarship In his career at VVC Strunk played in four games while starting for three of them His overall record was 2-1 striking out 17 hitters in 21 innings ldquoThe goal of mine is to get at a univer-sity level and hopefully division one I plan on coaching at VVC for as long as the school wants me I kind of tell peo-ple that the only way I am leaving is if I am fired or a university job or whatever happens in the near future said Beltran Beltran is ready to bring the Rams back to a competitive and winning team and is hopeful to bring that to VVC in 2013 ldquoIt is kind of hard to tell because I dont know who is coming in and who is going to commit to VVC but if I had to say right now I would probably say that I am quite confident especially with the guys I have coming back that they are going to take that leadership role and take the other class under their wings so to speak and have a more competitive winning seasonrdquo

Story by Adreana Young Editor in Chief

Story by Adreana Young Editor in Chief

Story by Adreana Young Editor in Chief

Part three of the Ireland series will be in the next edition of RamPage

Other advice given from the authors varied Do not self publish unless you plan to market yourself 2) Write 750-1500 words (or 3-5 pages) a day 3) Stu-dent writers were encouraged to join the High Desert California Writersrsquo Club that meets at the Apple Valley Library for professional critiques 4) Outlines are friendly towards non fictional books since fiction stories tend to move in any direction and 5) Go out and live

ldquoI didnrsquot realize this but I almost al-ways write about women I had an idea I wrote for a show was about girls and I didnrsquot sell it So I decided to write a bookrdquo said Lowe

Part three of the Ireland series will be in the next edition of RamPage

gist His book ldquoTuderdquo is about a lizard that is on a growing up quest guided by a desert tortoise

ldquoPeople will tell you things and some-times you find out that your bitter expe-rience would have been a lot better if you had taken someonersquos advice instead of find out for yourself Thatrsquos one of

those times when yoursquore somewhere in the mid-dle of the night when itrsquos lsquooh whateverrsquos out there please let me get away with this and Irsquoll never do it againrsquordquo said Bel-lomy VVC Com-munications Studies Pro-

fessor Freddi Gold was selling her work ldquoAdultery is Universal but Irsquom getting Married Anywayrdquo which is written for more of the college and the adult readership Her rela-tionship book is set up with fictional case stud-ies at the beginning of every chapter dealing with that particular sub-ject

ldquoWhen you get into a relationship that gets intimate and you pro-gress into marriage that you can truly believe that you are always going to be faithful to one another but there is no guaranteerdquo said Gold

Christopher Meeks was last to be inter-viewed by Wagner but not without a unique roster of his own He published some of Lowersquos works and is a professor at University of California Los An-

geles in the Extension Writersrsquo Program as well as a writer himself His book ldquoLove At Absolute Zerordquo is about Phys-ics Professor at the University of Wis-consin Gunner Gunderson who goes through a series of unfortunate events while on the dating scene in the course of three days

ldquoI find it interesting that people worry about voice Itrsquos like when people worry about lsquowhy do my friends like mersquo what you want to do is be interested in what yoursquore doing and let your voice develop Your subconscious guides your whole wayrdquo Meeks also advised ldquoallow yourself to write the (bad) first draftrdquo

Writers Inspire the Masses at Victor Valley College

On May 10 Victor Valley College Associated Student Body invited pub-lished authors to inspire and educate students to pursue their writing careers

The Student Activity Center rooms were packed with over 150 eager students Even after the event started patrons pulled chairs in from the landing and sat in the doorways Some students stood for the two hours without a chair to listen to the authors speak about their works and the road to publication

Script and novel writer Ehrich Van Lowe was nominated for two academy awards and was once teacher to VVC English Professor host Patricia Wagner

ldquoI must admit that he was my teacher at USC some of his assignments torture some of my students todayrdquo admitted Wagner

Author Norma Garcia and VVC Alumni class of 2003 wrote a memoir called ldquoThe Search of My Liferdquo Her tale represents her growth into a wise woman and is meant to advise and entertain

ldquoI still hope I still have dreams I still have things I want to accomplish before I leave this worldrdquo explained Garcia after announcing her memoirs sequel is in the works

Author David Bellomy has a large background in the criminal investigative field who first wanted to be a herptolo-

Host of the event and English professor Pat Wagner sits on stage with the published authors to discuss their respective works

The spark from multiple lighters illu-minates as the house lights go down followed by multiple puffs of smoke that form a giant cloud in the theater air Abel Tesfayersquos known as The Weeknd voice is the clearest it will be all night through all the screaming and singing along from the crowd ldquoYou donrsquot know whatrsquos in storerdquo he croons from his opening number ldquoHigh for Thisrdquo The stage lights flash as the drummer of the three piece band behind him creates a thunderous beat that gets the whole place bobbing their heads in perfect sync This is the view from my front row seat in the balcony of the Music Box at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood This show has a feel to it like no other This could be due to the fact that sitting just a couple feet away from me in the VIP sections are a few record la-bels accompa-nied by legend-ary producer Rick Rubin and rap mogul Did-dy who seem to be scouting the independent Tesfaye Tesfaye start-ed over a year ago when he posted videos of his music on YouTube under the name The Weeknd He then came out with three mixtapesalbums in 2011 all of which were released for free on his website House of Balloons Thursday and Echoes of Silence All three of his releases were critically and publically praised

I have never seen a more dedicated group of fans for such an under the radar type of act At one point there were bal-loons brought from home floating around the theater to commemorate The Weekndrsquos first release House of Bal-loons

During the song ldquoCrew Loverdquo that The Weeknd record-ed for Drakersquos album Take Care the crowd played the role of lead vocal-ists a steady theme through-out the night The backing band was a great addition to the Weekndrsquos alternative RampB

have seen I couldnrsquot help but to top off the night by walking by the VIP tables and snatching up some of Did-dyrsquos signature vodka The Weeknd is just getting started and itrsquos hard to predict where his career is going wheth-er he is going to

Director Joss Whedon best known for his work on the cult TV hit Firefly de-serves an enormous amount of the credit for making this movie what it is He has always shown an amazing ability to jug-

gle a large ensemble cast and not lose the characters in the translation He was the per-fect person to balance the egos of The Avengers Haw-keye played by Jeremy Ren-ner might be the character that gets the short end of the stick in this department While his character is given some great action sequences he isnt given as much as the rest of the cast to work with due to reasons that will be-come quickly apparent once watching the film Even still he is an important part of the story With a film filled with larg-er than life characters that each has a complex history and skill set it was smart of Marvel to take the time to give its characters their own standalone movie before this team-up began Doing this helped ldquoThe Avengersrdquo avoid being an origin story for half a dozen characters which would have been a jumbled mess The film assumes knowledge of these charac-ters and certain previous events that have transpired through the other films The audience can quickly accept

the circumstances and move straight to the interactions between these characters and their fight against Loki The Avengers had a lot to live up to in the minds of every fan out there Hype had slowly built up over the course of five movies and the years of work it took to craft this universe of characters Im happy to say this movie exceeds any and all expectations Its not just an action-filled summer popcorn flick Its an engaging story with great characters fight sequences humor and heart

gist His book ldquoTuderdquo is about a lizard that is on a growing up quest guided by a desert tortoise

ldquoPeople will tell you things and some-times you find out that your bitter expe-rience would have been a lot better if you had taken someonersquos advice instead of find out for yourself Thatrsquos one of

those times when yoursquore somewhere in the mid-dle of the night when itrsquos lsquooh whateverrsquos out there please let me get away with this and Irsquoll never do it againrsquordquo said Bel-lomy VVC Com-munications Studies Pro-

fessor Freddi Gold was selling her work ldquoAdultery is Universal but Irsquom getting Married Anywayrdquo which is written for more of the college and the adult readership Her rela-tionship book is set up with fictional case stud-ies at the beginning of every chapter dealing with that particular sub-ject

ldquoWhen you get into a relationship that gets intimate and you pro-gress into marriage that you can truly believe that you are always going to be faithful to one another but there is no guaranteerdquo said Gold

Author Norma Garcia and VVC Alumni class of 2003 wrote a memoir called ldquoThe Search of My Liferdquo Her tale represents her growth into a wise woman and is meant to advise and entertain

ldquoI still hope I still have dreams I still have things I want to accomplish before I leave this worldrdquo explained Garcia after announcing her memoirs sequel is in the works

Author David Bellomy has a large background in the criminal investigative field who first wanted to be a herptolo-

Host of the event and English professor Pat Wagner sits on stage with the published authors to discuss their respective works
