VVC Leg Health Relief Mission
Hispaniola Medical Charity team2012
In November 2012, a team of 46 volunteers brought medical care to the impoverished people of the Dominican Republic. The hospital was located in La Ramona, D. R.
We performed over 350 procedures ranging from ear tubes, hernia repairs, gallbladder removal and vein care
All of the medical supplies, equipment and medications were donated or purchased through charitable contributions
Each team was required to bring their own supplies and equipment
VVC is honored to be able to work with and help Dr. Hart continue his fathers’ passion to help others
Hispaniola Medical Charity is a non-profit organization that was formed in honor of Dr. Hugo Hart’s father-Umbert Hart M.D. SR.He was a physician who dedicated his time in serving the medical and housing needs of the people in the Dominican Republic
Dr. Hart and his brother continue to support their father’s mission
Last year, Dr. Hart led the first VVC mission medical trip to offer free vein disease care.During the trip, our team performed over 56 vein procedures on 12 patients for venous issues ranging from extremely painful to debilitating
With the exception of one person, every patient had open sores and ulcers to their lower leg
This is the first recorded use of laser therapy, in a hospital, for leg veins in the Dominican Republic
Without last year’s trip, these people would have never received the care they needed
This year’s trip to the Dominican Republic will be: October 19 through October 26.
We are almost out of time to collect your contribution to make a direct impact in the lives of these patients
Please donate today
We appreciate your prayers and no donation is too small Donation containers are located at each location On-line donations can be made at: www.VVCMission.com
