This Week: Come, Divine Child, and Dwell in Me My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Be Patient and Make Your Hearts Firm! This weekend the liturgy of the Church gives us some rest from the penitential nature of the season of Advent by calling our attention to the joy that will meet us in the Incarnation of Jesus Christ. As we get closer and closer to this celebration, it becomes very easy to begin the celebration now. Even today, with our Gaudete Sunday, it can be a temptation to begin the celebration of the Incarnation of Jesus Christ. While today is a joyful day within this penitential season, the proper sense of it is joyful because of the anticipation of the celebration of Jesus Christ’s Incarnation and in joyful anticipation of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ at the end of time. This liturgical season is not simply a preparation for the memorial of the Incarnation of Jesus Christ, WE ARE DISCIPLES: LEARNING, LOVING & LIVING CHRISTS MISSION Sunday, December 15, 2019 but is also a reminder of the necessity we each have in preparing for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Lord, Come and Save Us In our Gospel reading, St. John the Baptist sends some of his followers to Jesus to ask if He is the one whom he had been preparing. Jesus tells the disciples of John to inform him that in the presence of Jesus Christ “the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the good news proclaimed to them.” The physical afflictions Jesus healed are fascinating, but His healings do not stop there. In fact, Jesus heals each one of us of our infirmities - those things which get in the way of our relationship with Him. Those with physical infirmities in the time of Jesus Christ sought Him out so that they might be healed. and Dwell in Me

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Be

Patient and Make Your Hearts Firm!

This weekend the liturgy of the Church gives us some

rest from the penitential nature of the season of Advent

by calling our attention to the joy that will meet us in

the Incarnation of Jesus Christ. As we get closer and

closer to this celebration, it becomes very easy to begin

the celebration now. Even today, with our Gaudete

Sunday, it can be a temptation to begin the celebration

of the Incarnation of Jesus Christ.

While today is a joyful day within this penitential

season, the proper sense of it is joyful because of the

anticipation of the celebration of Jesus Christ’s

Incarnation and in joyful anticipation of the Second

Coming of Jesus Christ at the end of time. This

liturgical season is not simply a preparation for the

memorial of the Incarnation of Jesus Christ,

WE ARE DISCIPLES: LEARNING, LOVING & LIVING CHRIST’S MISSION

but is also a reminder of the necessity we each have in

preparing for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Lord, Come and Save Us

In our Gospel reading, St. John the Baptist sends

some of his followers to Jesus to ask if He is the one

whom he had been preparing. Jesus tells the disciples

of John to inform him that in the presence of Jesus

Christ “the blind regain their sight, the lame walk,

lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised,

and the poor have the good news proclaimed to

them.”

The physical afflictions Jesus healed are fascinating,

but His healings do not stop there. In fact, Jesus heals

each one of us of our infirmities - those things which

get in the way of our relationship with Him. Those

with physical infirmities in the time of Jesus Christ

sought Him out so that they might be healed. In our

day, we too are called to seek Him out for the healing

we need and the healing that only He can offer us. (con’t on p.2)

Night Fever (Parish Advent Penance Service)

Tues, Dec 17: Mass @ 5:30 followed by

Reconciliation & Adoration from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

What if Jesus was right beside you, gazing into your

eyes and asked you, “What do you desire”? Would

you say: healing, forgiveness, Divine Love &

Mercy? God is Love and we have the opportunity to

move away from sin (evil) and towards grace

(holiness) as we prepare for the birth of our Lord and

Savior. Night Fever is the perfect time to receive the

Sacrament of Reconciliation. Five priests, two

bilingual, will be present. Let God’s loving embrace

free us from our sins.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Come, Divine

Child, and Dwell in Me as we Learn, Love, & Live

Christ’s Mission!

Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Pray for us!

This healing is available to us in the Sacraments that

Jesus Christ entrusted to the Church. Especially in the

Sacrament of Reconciliation we come to encounter

Jesus Christ who can heal us from those attachments to

sin that are harming our relationship with Him and with

those in our lives. Seek Him out and be healed.

First Reconciliation & Confirmation Students

Last Saturday, our 2nd grade students received their

Sacrament of First Reconciliation with their

families. Last Sunday, during Confirmation class our

Confirmation students were given the opportunity to

spend time in prayer in our Adoration Chapel and

receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

We are thankful for our 2nd grade & Confirmation

Catechists: Julie Sears, Heather Szymanski, Erica

Beine and Nicole Sears; Brooke Folkers, Chad

Krockover, Stephanie Snyder and Fr. Neterer. Thank

you to all the families who have helped prepare them

for this Sacrament at home, in class, and by your own

witness.

New Evangelization – The New

Evangelization calls each of us to deepen

our faith, believe in the Gospel message

and go forth to proclaim the Gospel. The

focus of the New Evangelization calls all

Catholics to be evangelized and then go

forth to evangelize. In a special way, the

New Evangelization is focused on

're-proposing' the Gospel to those who have experienced a crisis of

faith. Pope Benedict XVI called for the re-proposing of the Gospel

"to those regions awaiting the first evangelization and to those

regions where the roots of Christianity are deep but who have

experienced a serious crisis of faith due to secularization." The

New Evangelization invites each Catholic to renew their

relationship with Jesus Christ and his Church. -Taken from the USCCB
