THE EIGHTH GRADERS OVERRUN WALDWICKWhat would it be like if the Waldwick eighth graders overran the
town? Why not take a look and see.
As we begin our journey through the town, we see SUE CERTNER,
HOLLY WALLACE, and LINDA LOU SMITH waiting on MIKE MURPHY
and BOB REITHER in the Five and Ten. In the Radio Shop we see ERIC
AXBERG, STEVE BRASH, and JOHN BRADLEY listening to a baseball
game in which the Mets are winning, but we know the boys should be
working.
Now we stop to chat with JOHN DE GRAFF and PETER DREYER in
front of the Dress Shop where SARA WAGGONER, ALLISON BROWN,
CAROL MacNEIL, CAROL ROSEN, KATHY O'NEIL, and KATHY
SHERMAN are hard at work. Next we see LAURA ROBINSON, SUE
VILLIERS, CHRIS ROWE, and GREG HENSHALL trying to sell some
paint to KENNY FREITAG, DAVID DODDS, and BARRY MILLER. As
we pass the Chocolate Shop we see MIKE SCHAFFER, JIM WEBSTER,
and ANDY SCALZO ordering sodas from JACQUE LANDI, BABS
BROWN, SUSAN LEADLEY, and DIANE TOMAGNI.
Across the street in the Interior Decorating Shop SUE PISCITELLO,
DEBBIE JOYCE, and NANCY SCHAFFER are trying to interest SUE
COSTA, KATHY MOREY, and SUE ROBSON in some new furniture. In
the Garden State Dairy Store MIKE PETRIE, AL PAVONI, and ROSS
LABARR are eating the customer's ice-cream. As we pass the Library
we see RANDY POPE, JOE WANCO, and PETE HAUCK sitting on the
fence waiting for - - I wonder who? Inside, our three librarians LESLIE
GARRETT, DENISE TRACY, and KAROL KOEHLER are helping DANA
KASDAN, JOE OLSEN, and PAT REARDEN locate some books.
Back over at Jerry 's Cleaning Service BART VERKAIK, RICHARD
MALONEY, and LARRY KOEHLER are working away.
As we progress on our merry way we see CHARLES SOLIMINE,
DANNY FRIEDWALD, and ROBERT GAWEL in Jack's Market. Down
at the Plaza Gift Shop DONNA DAMORJIAN and MARILYN STEVENS
are showing BETTY WESCOTT and BARBARA JUDGE some of their
merchandise. Next to them, in the Drug Store, we see BARBARA
HUTTNER and LINDA GARSCHINA.
1")
Down at the Gulf Gas Station NANCY SIEVER1 and SANDRA GUERN-
SEY are filling the gas tank of a beautiful convertible. Over at Conning-
ton and Son we look in on JOHN CARUSO and RALPH TEN EYCK and
see them - - eating potato chips?
On the next corner we see two more grease monkeys, HOLLY JUBA
and ELLEN SHORT in Holly's Garage. Across the street at Adler's
WENDY GIFFORD, KATHY ZADANEK, JOAN HUNT, and ROSEMARIE
TRAYNOR are fixing the display in the window.
Who's this we see coming out of Borelli 's Barber Shop? Why it's
EDDIE CEDERBERG and MIKE LLY, they were just scalped by
PATTY TEW, KAREN LYONS, VALERIE MABIE, and CANDIE GUTII.
Over at the Post Office we watch SANDY BURKE, PAULA HORNAK,
GERALDINE ROES, and SANDY MENOTTI perform some of the tasks
of a postgirl. Across the street we meet the employees of the Grand
Union, they include: ROGER KHTM, RUSS HOLLISTER, JOE CERVERA,
WALTER NELSON, ROBERT LOTTES, MIKE STASKO, BILL SPIESS,
, KENNY YOUNG, JEFF ZUAGG, and RUSS HAIDINGER.
Down at Stazney's we see BILLY STROBEL, GARY FREITAG, SI
ZACCO, and GLENN SABIEL. As we cross the street to go back over
to Golden Block - - whoops! we came close to being run over by our
Fire Department which includes MARK NELINSON, THEODORE
SUHAKA, RICHARD SILVAN, RAY SUTER, PAT FREDELLA, and
1', ILL ELLIOTT. I1-.'hind them come the head of the Waldwick-Police
Force, Officer DAVE KELSO and Officer GEORGE ZUMBANO. .The
resi of the force includes: CLAUDE SPECHT, BILL SMITH, ANDREW
I.A TOMME, RICHARD LEWIS, and KEITH STARK. Some of I
female officers include: KATHY FOOTE, NANCY GANGUZZA, LYNN
PASZKOWSKI, LYDIA SHAPTER, and LINDA J. SMITH.
At last we arrive at Leonard's Men Shop where DAN HAHN, PHIL
ALLOGRAMENTO, and DAVE YAGER are busy straightening out shirts
and ties. At the hairdressers we watch JOE COERTS, HARRY FREER,
PAT SCALZO, and BOB BRONCATELLO practicing the latest styles on
CHERIE SIEH, SHARON CONTINI, and LINDA HODGKINSON. In the
Pet Shop we see JERRY WELCH, AUGIE PAUL, ROSS MOREY, and
RONNIE HEDDY buying worms from MARK ANTONIC, DEBBIE BRU-
BAKER, and BARBARA TASHJIAN. As we enter the Sweet Shop we see
the town's two respectable dentists, JIM BRONCATELLO, and HENRY
ENBERG ordering lunch from JOHN WHITELY, GLENN HANNAMAN,
JAMES HANKINSON, and CHARLES IS ING. In the Delicatessen we see
ED BALDI, KATHY TENNY, JOHN MORONE, VIRGINIA BUSSING, and
JOANN WONG WAH - - they couldn't be munching on pickles - - o r could
they?
Inside the Bakery SUZANNE MORGAN, IRIS ACKERMAN, and
KATHY KUKLINSKI are seen putting freshly baked goods on the shelves.
Over at the Junior House KAREN KAEUMLEN, SANDRA NALLEY, PAT
FOLEY, and BARBARA ROSS are busy displaying the spring and sum-
mer fashions. Next to them we see SUSAN BROWN and JANET McCANN
working in the florist shop.
If we look in at the Municipal Building we might see a meeting di-
rected by the Mayor, HOWARD SAM, and attended by the town council,
LILLIAN LAST, DEBBIE PALLOZZIE, and JOANN TANIS. Also BILLY
WIKINSON, RONNIE GUENDJOIAN, TOMMY MOREBELLI, THOMAS
MILLER, and WILLIAM QUINN.
Now we meet the employees of ShopRite: BARBARA MAHLSCHNEE,
CRAIG MORGAN, ADA TORRANO, BOB SNOWDEN, DOMENIC
TRIFILIO, EDGAR HILDEBRANDT, FRANCES GAGLIANO, and JOHN
DILLON. Last but not least we see ALANA KNOBLOCK (our recreation
directress) and her tennis group, MARK SHRIVER, NANCY COOMBER,
SUE NIBLETTE, BETH COOMBER, BOB SHERWOOD, and NANCY
WILLIAMS. Watching them are WAYNE WAGNECZ, JEFF McGINN,
BRUCE PETERSON, and STEVE SKOW.
Now that you have an idea what it would be like if the eighth graders
took over the town of Waldwick, what do you think?
