WALK in the FOOTSTEPS of JESUS St. Timothy’s Catholic Church ~ November 7 th 17 th , 2013 Led by Father John Likozar Day 1 - Thursday, November 7 Depart Toronto Check in at Pearson International Airport. Overnight: En route Day 2 - Friday, November 8 Arrive Tel Aviv Clear passport control. We will be met by your Israeli guide, Isaac. Relax on your bus ride with Osama to the Galilee, via Stella Maris. Enjoy an early home cooked lunch at a family run Druze restaurant then Celebrate mass at the Carmelite Church. Overnight: Restal Hotel, Tiberias x 3 nights. (LD) Day 3 - Saturday, November 9 Galilee Follow in the tradition of the “fishermen” disciples; sailing on the Sea of Galilee. Disembark at Nof Ginosar, home of a fishing boat from the time of Jesus. Visit the Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, site of the miracle of the fish and loaves and feeding the multitudes. Continue to Capernaum, where Jesus lived during his ministry in the Galilee to celebrate mass in the Church of St. Peter. Drive the Golan Heights to Caesarea Philippi, . Return to Tiberias via the lower Golan, Kursi & Bethsaida (BLD) Day 4 - Sunday, November 10 Galilee Drive to Mount Tabor and spend time in the gardens, lookout over the valley and celebrate mass in the Church of the Transfiguration. Continue to Beit Shean, one of the oldest cities in Israel. Explore the excavations recalled in the Bible following the Battle of Gilboa. Proceed to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his early years; visit the Church of the Annunciation. Tour the Nazareth Village, a recreation of the town as it was during the time of Jesus’ youth. Returning to Tiberias, stop in Cana, site of the “wedding miracle” where Jesus turned water to wine. Couples may have the opportunity to renew wedding vows. (BD) Day 5 - Monday, November 11 Galilee / Jericho Begin the day at Yardenit Baptismal site at the Jordan River View the changing scenery as you travel from the Galilee to the barren landscape of the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea and spend time enjoying the experience of floating in the mineral rich water. Continue to Jericho and celebrate mass. Climb the “tell” and view the ancient remains of the tower wall and oldest known house in the world. After checking in at your hotel, you will have time to enjoy the hotel facilities for some R & R. Overnight: Jericho Resort Village x 1 night. (BD) Day 6 - Tuesday, November 12 Dead Sea/ Jerusalem Travel by cable car to the Mount of Temptation and via the old road to view St. George Greek Orthodox Monastery. Celebrate mass in Bethany then ascend to the holy city stopping at Mt. Scopus for your first view of Jerusalem. Overnight: Jerusalem Gate Hotel, Jerusalem x 4 nights. Follow the Stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to celebrate mass. End the day at the Church of St Peter in Galicantu. (BD) Day 9 - Friday, November 15 Jerusalem & Bethlehem Tour Yad Vashem, memorial to the Holocaust, the Children’s Memorial, Hall of Remembrance and Museum. Continue to the Israel Museum where the Dead Sea Scrolls are kept and view a miniature of Jerusalem as it was during the time of the 2 nd Temple. Drive to Bethlehem and visit the Holy Manger in the Grotto of the Nativity. Celebrate mass in the Chapel of St Joseph located in the Basilica of St Catherine. (BLD) Day 10 - Saturday, November 16 Jerusalem / Airport Late morning then check out and drive to Abu Gosh and celebrate mass in the Crusader Church. Continue to Jaffa and for a short walking tour of the ancient port and now a popular artist’s venue then enjoy a festive farewell dinner at the Old Man & the Sea Restaurant before your transfer to the airport for security clearance and flight check in. (BD) Day 11 - Sunday, November 17 Ben Gurion / Toronto Depart just after midnight. On arrival in Toronto early this morning, clear passport control and customs. Welcome home !!

St.  Timothy’s  Catholic  Church ~ November 7th – 17th, 2013 Led by Father John Likozar

Day 1 - Thursday, November 7 Depart Toronto Check in at Pearson International Airport. Overnight: En route Day 2 - Friday, November 8 Arrive Tel Aviv Clear passport control.
