YES THERE WILL BE SCHOOL ON APRIL 22 AND APRIL 25! SNOW MAKE UP DAYS! Spring is finally here! It has been an unusual winter, with the temperatures fluc- tuating quite a bit. I hope the warm weather is here to stay. Be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Congratulations to the 5th/6th grade girls basketball teams for a great sea- son. The 5th grade A team ended up as the North Liberty Tourney Champs. Both teams showed great improvement. Also, congratulations to those 5th/6thgrade boys who wrestled for UMS this year. Sam Strange, Will Baldwin and Waylon Auer. I am very proud of all the students and teachers for a great First Round of ISTEP testing. I, also, want to say THANK YOU to all the 3rd grade students for their efforts on IREAD 3. The students worked very hard on these tests and the teachers had them ready! I am confident that we did well, and that we will be ready for Round Two of ISTEP+ in April. A BIG thank you to the par- ents for making sure your child (ren) are getting enough rest and are working/ reading at home. We have a lot of great things happening in April and later in May. Be sure to look through the entire Newsletter for information. I also want to encourage all to go online to view (periodically) the Walkerton Elementary website. Also find us on Facebook. DAYS!

Spring is finally here! It has been an unusual winter, with the temperatures fluc-tuating quite a bit. I hope the warm weather is here to stay. Be sure your child

is dressed appropriately for the weather.

Congratulations to the 5th/6th grade girls basketball teams for a great sea-son. The 5th grade A team ended up as the North Liberty Tourney Champs. Both teams showed great improvement. Also, congratulations to those 5th/6thgrade boys who wrestled for UMS this year. Sam Strange, Will

Baldwin and Waylon Auer.

A BIG thank you to the par-ents for making sure your child (ren) are getting enough rest and are working/

reading at home.

We have a lot of great things happening in April and later in May. Be sure to look through the entire Newsletter for information. I also want to encourage all to go online to view (periodically) the Walkerton Elementary website. Also find us on Facebook. Mr. Tim Davis, Principal

Best Self, Best Work, Best World

Be sure to mark Thursday, May 19, 2016 on your calendar to come to the WES gymnasium to hear the spring music program for grades 4, 5, & 6. The work has begun and the catchy tunes are encouraging us to embrace doing our best work in order to be our best self and to make the best world. Our WES 5th and 6th grade choir will also sing. The program will begin at 7:00pm, and will run about 30 minutes. I am counting on ALL 4th, 5th, and 6th graders to be there, so please encour-age your singers to take part by keeping that date open on your family’s calendar. Don’t have a 4th,

5th or 6th grader? Come on out to hear the music that celebrates the best in each of us!

Mrs. VanDuyne, WES General Music/Choir Teacher

Summer school for Walkerton Elementary and North

Liberty Elementary students will be:

July 11—July 29—8-2 PM—at Walkerton Elementary

School.

Forms will be coming home after Spring Break.
