Once upon a time, there was a drop of water called Walter. He spent his time floating around in the ocean. He had been there for a very, very long time.

One sunny day, Walter felt funny. He was getting warmer and warmer. He started to tingle and shake. Suddenly, he felt himself floating up, up and up into the sky. “What’s happening?” cried Walter. His friend, Cleo, said, “Don’t worry Walter. You’re evaporating!” Walter thought about it and remembered that this had happened before. He wasn’t worried anymore, but he really wanted to be back in the ocean.

Walter gathered together with Cleo and his other friends to make a cloud. “Hey, this is fun! I can see everything from up here!” exclaimed Walter. Just then, the wind started to blow. The cloud floated across the sky until it was over a mountain.

Walter was thinking about his days in the ocean, when suddenly, he felt different again. He felt himself turning into rain. The next second, he found himself falling, falling, falling down to Earth! “Yipppeeeee!” he yelled. “This is so much fun!”

Walter landed with a splash on top of a rocky hill. He was very happy to see so many of his water drop friends all around him. They decided to gather together and flow down the hill. Eventually, they found a river. The river started off small, but as more and more of Walter’s friends joined it, it got bigger and bigger.

After a while, Walter found himself back in the ocean. “Thank goodness for that!” he said. “My adventure was fun, but I like sitting here in the ocean talking to the fish.”
