Simulation model analysis by artificial tests

In 2004 and 2005, northeast grid 500kV transmission line three phase to ground to investigate the load model.In 2007 , northwest grid 330kV transmission single line phase toground ,trip generators to testify new generation models and PSSperformance.

Low frequency oscillation managementThere were lots of oscillation in past 3 years, WAMS become imperative to deal with the dangerous oscillation.

Assessment of oscillationScan all transmitting power under normal state. If oscillation power > 10MW and duration > 5 oscillating cycles, the event is registered. Statistics shows: oscillation with poor damping will have more events.The assessment successfully predicts dangerous oscillation event before its real occurrence.

In futureIn data center: – WAMS and EMS will be combine with each other,

full dynamic EPCC will be realized – More response based application will be developed.

(others are model based analysis).In substation: – PMU and RTU will be replaced by new IED with

synchrophasor measurement function and supporting IEC 61850
