Lake/River Management Workshop presented by Polk County Association of Lakes and Rivers (PCALR) and Polk County Land and Water Resources Dept. (LWRD)
This workshop brings together state and local experts from DNR, UW Extension, and Polk County LWRD, plus
area consultants and scientific service providers to help you better understand your lake and how to satisfy its
users — all aimed to maintain or enhance water quality.
This three-session workshop covers:
• How lakes work - lake science basics
• Polk County lake/river characteristics and challenges
• Determining lake capability
• Lake management planning process
• Collecting data, working with volunteers
• Understanding property owners’ interests
• Project funding and regulations
• Lake management plans
• Plan and project implementation
• Working with government and consultants
• Q&A with water resources professionals
