The characteristics of Greek art became the artistic style that we refer to today as “Classical”.

Every Greek city-state had a temple dedicated to a god or goddess. Temples such as the Parthenon included a central room that housed statues of the gods or goddesses.

Independent Practice

Think back to our units on Ancient Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, and our current unit on Ancient Greece.

Write a 5-7 sentence paragraph discussing, “What makes ancient art and architecture in these civilizations unique for its time”.
